Shopper : How well did it work? Were you happy with it?ROY E : This is a very good eyepiece and is particularly well suited for SCT type telescopes which is the type I have and use with it. It provides detailed medium-high-power views of planets and globular clusters which is why I purchased it. When compared to other similar-designed eyepieces, it is an excellent value, and even better during the current sale. To find an equivalent eyepiece, such as the discontinued Televue 10mm or 8mm Radians, that would performonly only slightly better, would cost much, much more. I am very pleased with the purchase.STEPHEN W : I found out that a good eyepiece makes all the difference. I discovered the X-Cel LX eyepieces after many years of using much cheaper eyepieces and am still kicking myself for not getting nicer eyepieces sooner. I wondered if even more expensive eyepieces are better still so I asked people at my astronomy club and many said that the $300 and $500 eyepieces are worth it. I have never looked through those but I did buy the 10mm Luminos which costs about double the X-Cel LX and am not particularly impressed. Right now these (X-Cel LX) are my favorite eyepieces and I have the 5, 7, 9, 12 and 18mm sizes.

Best Barlow I Own!!!!

Top notch quality! I already own a cheaper Celestron 2x Barlow and the difference is night and day. I was hesitant to spend this much more than ?discount? versions. But it?s true: you get what you pay for. And Adorama offered a smooth, easy transaction as always. My package was in the mailbox in a matter of days; just in time for my next outing!

Great Upgrade Eyepieces

I am very new to astronomy and telescopes. Purchased my first about a two months ago (Celestron Nextstar 130SLt). Purchased the 25mm, 12mm, and 7mm along with the 2X Barlow. The construction and quality of these X-Cell LX eyepieces in great. Definitely a huge improvement compared to the ones included with my telescope. Simple viewing is much easier. The eye relief is good and the adjustable eye cup is great for me as I wear glasses. Will probably add the 18mm soon. Great service as usual from Adorama

Good addition to eyepiece collection

I bought this eyepiece to go with a celestron 130mm reflector. I was surprised by the weight & size. The view is nice out to the edges. The image is crisp. A good step up from the kit eyepieces at a reasonable price.

This is not a review, I?ve been harassed for a review of this and other products without being given a reasonable amount of time to use them.

I?ve not even had a chance to use it, but sure? let me write this review for a chance to win. Side note, Amazon and other companies would get more reviews and definitely more honest reviews if they?d stop badgering the customer for a damn review via text and email every 20 minutes after the purchase has been made.

Great to have.

Nice construction. Feels sturdy and good quality. I have used this a couple of times on my Celestron 127SLT and with an eyepiece attached this was great to view Mars. While still somewhat a dot in the sky, it was a bit larger dot that just with the eyepiece. My main reason for purchasing was to use in with my DSLR for planetary imaging. However, I have not been able to get a good viewing like this but I don't believe it's the fault of the Barlow lens and rather user error. Still a great piece to have in my telescope tool box.

Barlow lens for my telescope

Purchased this Barlow lens to have a doubled magnification with my eyepieces. I chose this Barlow lens because you can use a 1.25“ filter directly on the Barlow lens. I like it.

Love this eyepiece!

I am in love with this eyepiece!!! The field of vision is so large and the 7mm is a great addition to my collection. The eyepiece is heavier but only because it is sturdier. The extra grip in the middle is handy too, I often grab the center of the eyepiece. While the XCel is pricier, I am not going to be buying other eyepieces from now on, this is definitely my new favorite.
