Excellent for viewing the moon and planets. Everyone should have one.

Very well made binoviewers that work well. No issues with double images and the eyepiece holders are of good quality and work well. Its easy to adjust the focus for each eye if necessary. Optically very nice no ghost images and very sharp at higher powers. I use these with a Takahashi Mewlon and a classic FC100. Getting superb planetary images especially on Jupiter. I need to use a barlow to get focus in both these scopes and its a pity this isn't included. Not good for lower powers has its limits but for medium to high powers work very well.

When I looked at the moon, planets and stars it gave me a sharp 3D view!

Love my new Celestron Stereo Binocular Viewer. A great addition to my Meade ETX-125PE Premier Edition Deep Space telescope. To view the cosmos in 3D is mind blowing. Using both eyes eliminates eye strain. It feels as if you're traveling among the stars while peering into the night sky, traveling further and further into deep space, traveling back into time.

Seems to work very nice and is also light weight compared to many other bino-viewers. The outer covering is nice for gripping too.

Really makes the viewing experience easy on the eyes when you see the moon the way your body was designed to... in 3D! Using both eyes allows you to relax your facial muscles and gives a true depth of vision not possible with struggling to hold one of your eyes shut. Definitely worth the investment of the viewer and extra eyepieces!

Have owned one for a few years and love it with some caveats. 1. Works best on bright objects like moon, Saturn, Jupiter. 2. Will be a bit dimmer due to the extra glass so for really dark sky objects or really critical viewing you will be better off with a single eyepiece. 3. eyepiece quality needs to be good and you need a matched pair. 4...this is the biggest issue.....binoviewers work great with SCT telescopes due to wide focuser travel capability but MAY not come to focus with some refractors and probably not at all for Newtonian reflectors. On refractors use straight through (no diagonal) or if you need a diagonal you may be able to come to focus with a 1 1/4" diagonal but not a 2" diagonal. In some cases you can use with what is known as a relay lens....a barlow that has no tube...just threads into the bino viewer tube that inserts into the diagonal. These relay lenses are usually around 1.6 to 1.8x magnifcation of the FOV provided by a given eyepiece/scope combination. They shorten the required back focus so will likely give enough extra travel to let it come to focus. Finally are these worth it....darn right.....they are pricey (although the Celestron is excellent and reasonably priced) and require two of every eyepiece you want to use with it. But the image is spectacular....in short it allows each eye to get its optimum view and your brain combines them and usually the view of something like Saturn will far exceed the same view through one eyepiece....contrast, color are jaw dropping.

Once you understand that this piece of equipment requires the purchase of two telescope eyepieces of equal power then the piece of starts to make sense. Once you understand how it works it is a pretty good product. It does have a learning curve. It also comes with a very nice storage case, but the case doesn't have room when the eyepieces are loaded.

This is how the heavens are supposed to be viewed, with two eyes! The comfort of observing with two eyes vs one cannot be overstated. You look longer and can more easily notice details you might otherwise miss. I took these to a recent star party where we share our equipment and expertise with the public. My astronomy club has many impressively large telescopes, but I have to say that all the kids, parents, and grandparents that looked through these binoviewers came away with huge smiles, wonder on their faces, and gasps of amazement. The 3D effect on Saturn startled them in some cases to disbelieve. One 10 year old boy looked through the scope and then came around to the front because he thought I was holding a photograph in front of the lens to trick him. Crazy but true. I want also to share the one limitation of these and all binoviewers I think. They perform best on brighter objects. If you are searching for a faint fuzzy you will do better with out binoviewers. I use these with a Celestron SE8 telescope, a pair of 25mm, and 15mm Plossl eyepieces. Really, the bang for the buck is a great value. Opens up a new amazing way of viewing the heavens. Don't miss it.

The Binoc view
By James H.
Excellent for viewing the moon and planets. Everyone should have one.
The Stereo Binocular Viewer allows you to adapt two eyepieces to your telescope and view with both eyes simultaneously. In addition to eliminating eye fatigue associated with viewing through one eye for a prolonged period of time, this bino viewer also provides a three dimensional effect while observing many celestial objects. The Stereo Binocular Viewer will also improve contrast on deep sky objects as well as solar system objects. The Stereo Binocular Viewer isdesigned to work with Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes (SCT) and many refracting telescopes
The Stereo Binocular Viewer requires you use two eyepieces of equal focal lengths and optical design.
