Questions & Answers

gerald d : Does this item come with an independent battery power source or is the 12V car power cord required to power the scope?ANDREW R : The 12V cord is required. The unit does not have an internal power source. I believe that Celestron does offer a portable battery unit as an additional purchase that can be used to power the scope.
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?JASON S : Life goals.MARVIN G : Looking for a computer controlled scope with GPS and fork tripod. I like the Celestron software Sky Portal, and Sky Safari from what I have read about it. I look forward to learning more about astro-photography and the Universe.Evelyn C : Because my husband has always wanted one, and I want to give it to him as a gift.MICHAEL H : GPS and ease of setup, larger area captures more light .JOHN L : It is a balance of weight, portability, quality of image tracking and price. OK, but with issues.

Starsense & 'scope were on backorder. Tripod & Skyportal arrived on-time, but tripod was missing parts (accessory tray knob & bushing). Took a month to get those parts (had to be shipped from Celestron). Starsense won't ship until September (ordered in March). Telescope was shipped, then apparently lost-in-transit. It was "re-shipped" (I suspect it was the original 'scope, sent back to Adorama by UPS). When it finally arrived, there was a HUGE hole in the side of the box (documented by me & by the UPS guy.) I'm *hoping* that the optical tube wasn't damaged, but I won?t know until everything arrives and is tested/calibrated. In my opinion, NOTHING should have shipped, until EVERY PART of my order was in stock! IMO, these issues reflect badly on both Celestron & Adorama.

Celestron CPC 1100 Deluxe HD = Perfection

What can I say, it's a CPC deluxe 1100 HD. That should speak for itself. If you have the funds and can handle the weight, it is by far the best (manageable) telescope in the Celestron arsenal. By far! Adorama has excellent customer service and some of the best prices out there so I wouldn't think of buying anywhere else.

Great Tripod

The tripod arrived on time. It's very stable and well suited for the CPC 925 SCT Scope. I have it securely mounted on a moveable platform and together can easily move tripod, scope and platform to any location around my home. Although the scope is heavy, it easily marries to the tripod. So far, I am very happy with both the tripod and scope. Highly recommended.

Love It

I love my new scope. Just make sure you know how big and heavy it is. It's right at my limits. Finding an affordable case was hard, but SBK makes one that was just right! All I need now is time and clear skies!

Superb in every way

I bought this scope as a replacement for an 8" Newtonian f6 telescope that was damaged in a fire, a scope that I had used for 30 years. This is a big step up. It is heavy, and it does need a wheeled case for transport, but it's worth it. Superb optics, finely crafted, good in every way for both bright planets and deep sky objects. Quickly delivered by Adorama. Highly recommended!

Wow; fantastic; awesome

Gave myself one after retiring after 46 years in Psychology. I've had two previous scopes and wanted a good one with clear optics and a steady mount. Did I ever luck out!! The mount is a "hoss" and I wouldn't want to run into it with a Hummer (for the sake of the Hummer). It is HEAVY, but I need the exercise. The optics are crisp and the views are magnificent. The GoTo feature is a very useful tool and easy to align.

CPC800 is A-1!

This is definitely a professional grade scope that offers even the beginner a world of features that does not overwhlem you. Easy to use and pretty much self-explanatory. This scope does it all for the hobby astronomist. The goto feature is dead on and the data base so expansive that you can literally stay busy for months! The quality of build of Celestron scopes are second to none. This scope line is built like a battleship. The XLT optic coatings are wonderful. If you are looking for a scope with GPS and lots of features this is the one.

Happy as a clam

Having this in my observatory has meant that I spend much more time looking AT instead of looking FOR. Optics are spot on and I have cranked it to the 60X/in on one occasion. It IS heavy and and you would want a JMI wheeled case to travel with it. It points well, even with a one object align. Two is better and three...Only regret is I didn't get one sooner to replace my 10" newtonian.

excellent Scope!

An excellent scope for the money. GOTO works perfectly and tracks objects flawlessly. Do yourself a favor and get a 24mm Televue panoptic eyepiece and you will feel like you are swimming in the Orion Nebula. The tripod is extremely stable which is important when viewing Deep Space Objects. Planetary viewing is a joy. The only regret is I didn't purchase this a year ago.Celestron has really hit a home run with this scope![...] Great scope!NOTE: The key eyepieces for an SCT are 24mm, 13mm and 9mm. The addition of these key eyepieces will greatly enhance your viewing experience. The stock eyepiece (40mm ex-cel) is a decent low magnification eyepiece which I quickly replaced.

I love this scope!

simply an amazing scope,. Ive seen things thru this telescope i might of missed with anything else. the goto functions flawlessly. its easy to setup and align. quality construction and optics. ive had it for 3 months and it was in perfect collimation to begin with and it still is. ive pretty much made it all the way thru the messiers that are in my night sky. even with the light pollution ive seen all but a couple. the double cluster and wild duck are amazing. the swan and dumbell nebulas awe me. the blue snowball and ring nebula are also awe inspiring thru this scope. its somewhat more portable than its larger siblings. ive decided to do some astrophotography with it and have mounted a 80mm apo to guide or do wide fields off the cpc. i think its a keeper ;)

super scope

Very easy to set up and use, esp. for a scope of this size. Cords wrapping and binding around tripod is a problem; could be eliminated if jacks were placed differently.Great optics and "bang for the buck"[...]

Be captivated by the celestial wonders with the CPC-925 GPS XLT 9.25" Schmidt-Cassegrain Computerized Telescope. This advanced telescope, with its unique design and superior optics, is a product of Celestron's long-standing expertise in the field, dating back to the introduction of the Ultima 9.25" in 1995.

The 9.25" optical tube, now integrated with the latest CPC GPS series, offers 33% more light gathering than the 8" model, making it a favorite among astrophotographers and discerning visual observers. The CPC 925 GPS is specifically designed for visual infinity focus when using 2" eyepieces and features an optimized baffle system that minimizes vignetting at the edge of the field of view, enhancing your astrophotography experience.

The telescope's longer primary focal length and lower magnification secondary mirror contribute to a flatter field of view at the focal plane, reducing optical aberrations. This model is equipped with Celestron's renowned StarBright multi-coatings, ensuring maximum light transmission to the film plane.

The CPC 925 GPS is compatible with Celestron's complete line of photographic and visual accessories, offering versatility for your viewing needs. The telescope's base rotates around a wide 9.5" track for maximum stability, crucial for long exposure imaging or astrophotography.

The CPC Series' internal GPS receiver automatically downloads the date and time from orbiting satellites and pinpoints its exact location on Earth, eliminating the need for manual data entry. Once the telescope's position is established, aligning the telescope is as simple as pointing it to three bright celestial objects.

The CPC database contains over 40,000 celestial objects, including Messier objects, the Caldwell Catalog, NGC Galaxies, nebulae, and planets. The user-friendly database allows direct access to each of the celestial catalogs, making navigation quicker and easier.

The CPC-925 GPS XLT 9.25" Schmidt-Cassegrain Computerized Telescope, with its innovative features and high-performance optical coatings, redefines the amateur astronomy experience, offering superior quality, ease of use, and incomparable value. Experience the universe like never before with this state-of-the-art telescope from Celestron.
