This handy gadget is perfect. Works great looks great is great . Nice clip for bundling dew cords etc. Makes the scope look professional oh and it really keeps the strays out. Very good product.

9.25 dew cap

I purchased the Celestron 11" Aluminum Dew Shield with Cover Cap as an indispensable adjunct to the Celestron RASA-11 telescope.  Since the camera can only be installed in front of the corrector plate, I needed a sturdy and rigid dew shield with a cap in order to take dark frames, which are essential in calibrating astronomical images.  Also the dew shield enables me to capture flat frames using a light panel which I mount atop the dew shield when the scope is flipped vertical; otherwise I would have to shoot twilight or t-shirt flats, a much less convenient and efficient method.  This dew shield works quite well, with no light leaks.  It replaces a flexible model which proved to be completely inadequate.  The only drawback to the aluminum dew shield is that it is not solidly anchored to the scope, is a trifle unstable and shifts a little when the scope is slewed.  But it stays in place and doesn't fall off.  For me, it is an essential and welcome adjunct to the scope.
