This dew shield is well make and fits my 8-inch SCT as advertised. Although I've only used it twice under conditions above the dew point, it also seems to cut down on some of the stray light for what I think is a better image.

It took me a minute to figure out how to utilize this piece, but once I figured it out, it has been helpful to keep the telescope neutral in extremely humid times of viewing. Otherwise, my tel;escopoe would be too moist for me to handle.

Simple but effective

It works!  The night before I received my order, my evening viewing with a 6” Celestron Evolution was cut short by condensation.  The next night, under virtually identical conditions, condensation posed no problem.  I was fascinated to see that condensation began to collect again the moment I took the dew shield off to pack up for the night.  I took that as good evidence of the shield’s effectiveness.

It works.

I only tried to put it on the scope. I haven't tried it outside yet. I would recommend that the user rolls it up over night because it comes flat and it's stiff. The next day it wrapped itself around the tube nicely.
