Took some practice to get the focus and locating down. Wish the tripod had screws to fine tune the moon to the center

The scope comes with a nice bag with compartments that holds the scope and tripod plus accessories. The tripod is very light in order to fit into the compact bag. It is useable but not very stable. I put the scope on a beefier camera tripod for more stability. The optics are good and present the solar disc in yellow/orange color. I could clearly make out a sunspot on the sun'd disc. The finderscope is very nifty. With your back towards the sun, you adjust the scope until the shadow (shows up as a small dot) of the sun hits the center of the finder. MIne was pretty accurate. I tried a better Plossl eyepiece for even better clarity than the include 1.25" Kellner eyepiece

Good alternative to improvised filters for solar filters; I wanted something for an eclipse-watching group; seems like it'll keep them busy

I returned the scope. The tripod was not sturdy enough, although better instructions *might* have helped. But the combination of the two made the scope unusable to me. Portability is fine, but this scope sacrifices too much usability to get it. I will spend more money and get a larger system, even if it is less portable.

Many people think they can attach a dslr to this. They can't I have found no mount that would allow it. Its a very small telescope and doesn't have standard size fittings. But buy the solar shield paper and make your own! This is good for light travel and fast setup.
