What I liked about this light: * adjustable beam * neck lanyard is super convenient * Adorama had the best price What I wish were different: * Having the front glass diffuse the bulb patterns projected. Just a uniform red light would be better, IMO. * Having a more discernable "click" for on/off * Having it made in the U.S. instead of China

The material quality is very solid, and feels like it will last. Also the variable light intensity is very handy.

Very handy red flashlight on a lanyard that has low draw bulb. Must have accessory for saving your night vision for better astronomy!

This is a must have if you do any type of night time photography. I love taking shots of the Moon in different phases and having a red light to make settings adjustments is mandatory so you don't effect your eyesight with white light.

It fills the need for a light at night that does not intrude

This light is great I use it all night to read charts and set up the scope. The bateries last a long time and the neck line keeps it from geting lost in the dark. I wish it were made better it's just so fragile in your hand. Love the fact you can make it bright or dim is a nice feature.

Absolutely needed to not restart its adaptation to night vision or his companions. The night vision will need almost half hour to work. A bright or white light can ruin all the adaptation instantly. You will need a red flashlight to see annotations, maps or accessories during the session. The intensity control is helpfull.

Does not provide much light. Cap is easy to push off when turning light on. Sorry I can't say much in favor of this Flashlight.

I use it primarily for trips to the bathroom at night. This flashlight is great for that because it will not shock my eyes with bright light in the middle of the night, and it does not interrupt secretion of melatonin so I can get back to sleep quickly and maintain the deep sleep benefits that melatonin secretion promotes. I sleep in total darkness for better and longer sleep. Sleep is interrupted and melatonin secretion is also interrupted if you turn on regular incandescent or fluorescent lights or even colored lights like blue, green, or yellow at night. The variable light switch allows me to use only as much red light as I need, and the rectangular shape of the light makes it easier to recognize it in the dark as well as preventing it from rolling off of the night stand.

This handy little light is great for night situations. We found it immensely helpful for a long overnight road trip with the family, for seeing inside the car without causing night vision problems for the driver. Also, it's great for those times when you need to sneak through a room where somebody is sleeping that you don't want to disturb!

Celestron's premium model for astronomy, using two red LEDs to preserve night vision better than red filters or other devices. Brightness is adjustable. Operates on a single 9 volt battery (included).
