This microscope was easy to setup. The software downloaded without a problem and connected immediately to the microscope. I was impressed by the magnification and image clarity. My kids love it.

I found this product to be outstanding for my work with Butterfly egg viewing and photography. The use of the Digital Microscope is very easy to use and the photos are great. Connects with computer flawlessly. Could not have purchased a better Digital Microscope for the price than the product from Celestron.

Can't find one thing wrong with this product for my use. I raise butterflies and the magnification on butterfly eggs and small caterpillars is perfect. For my purpose it is perfect!

I use this microscope to examine coins and small objects using my HD computer monitor. If one rotates the microscope outboard 180 degrees from the included base & elevates the base about 4 inches you can view larger objects (such as silver dollars full frame) with the lens focused at infinity. The higher magnifications can be used to authenticate coins and to document microscopic nicks, scratches & die breaks for positive identification of the coin. It can also be used to measure items but I have not used the measurement feature. Using the LED light brightness control one can illuminate the object from the ring of 8 LED lights surrounding the lens (though the illumination is best with the microscope over the included base) The lighting will sometimes cause color shifts in the object being viewed and when used outboard shadows can occur. These problems can be mitigated with additional external lighting. The camera shutter for the 5 MP camera is on the brightness control or may be released using your mouse on-screen. Improvements I would find desirable: * A longer cord between the microscope head and the brightness/shutter release control. * The addition of an on/off switch on the LED light ring. * A 6" longer main post so outboard deployment. would not be necessary.

The digital microscope is easy to use and fun! It is built well and the image capture is better than I expected. This is a great tool to get children interested in science and photography. Good value for the price.

Good for viewing and capture small objects. Not a substitute for macro photograhy. Depth of field shallow. Good optics and focus control is acceptable. Stand is great. Shutter and LED control on USB cord is innovative and cuts vibration.

I use this microscope to take pictures of cutting tool inserts for wear patterns. The features that work especially well are the light brightness control, the adjustable stand is a plus and once set I can repeat without making adjustments. Good quality pictures from the camera for al my reports. I would recommend this digital microscope.

The product is great and it really lives up to what it is marketed as. Easy to use for young students. My only problem with it is the image stabilization. I honestly can't complain considering the cost of the item so it is a minor issue. I have since built a more robust and rigid support to solve the problem. Still working on a computer program to clean up the images a bit more. But, hey, at that price you definitely get a great product.

The PRO represents a major earlier version of this microscope. It's not just the old version with better resolution and a stand. 1) the focus ring is much easier to turn and control 2) the snapshot button has been moved from the microscope body to the in-line switch making it possible to take a snapshot without moving the scope. 3) adjustable illumination is a major plus. Not only can one adjust to optimize the reflectance from the target, but there are times when the uniform bright-field LED illumination is not desireable. One can set up a dark-field illumination or transmission. 4) The software allows for calibration and a ruler is provided to facilitate the calibration. My only complaint is that I don't see a way to get more rulers. It is unlikley that the one ruler supplied will survive too many trips to the field, even if handled with care. 5) The software also allows one to adjust the frequency of collection, number of frames per collect and overall time of collection. Very nice.

I have samples of sand from all over the world. This enables me to show that there are no two types of sand.

This is the third celestron microscope I have owned and by for the best. The images are sharp and clear and the holder makes for easy focusing.
The Celestron Labs Digital MicroDirect Handheld Microscope is your gateway to exploring the microscopic world in vivid, real-time HD-with no computer required. Offering an impressive magnification range from 10x to 200x and true 1080p HDMI output, this advanced microscope is perfect for examining three-dimensional objects in stunning detail. It's the ideal tool for inspecting circuit boards and textiles, studying insects and plant structures, documenting materials for research or quality control, and so much more.
Setup is fast and intuitive. You can place the microscope on the included stand or use it in handheld mode. Then choose how you want to connect:
HDMI Mode
Plug in the included HDMI cable and power the microscope using the USB-C cable (and wall adapter, if needed). This setup is perfect for classrooms, labs, or group settings where you want to stream live, full-HD video directly to a TV or projector without using a PC.
USB-C Mode
Connect the microscope to your Windows desktop or laptop using the included USB-C cable. In USB-C mode, you can use the free Celestron Labs Digital Imaging HD Software to capture images and 720p video, add annotations, and take precise measurements using the included calibration ruler. You can also transfer any images saved to the onboard MicroSD card directly to your computer.
Achieving your desired magnification is simple: move the microscope closer or farther from your subject (or adjust its position on the stand) until you reach the perfect level of detail. This coarse focusing method sets your magnification. Then, use the integrated fine focus wheel to bring your subject into razor-sharp focus.
The professional 5-element IR-cut glass lens and 3.4MP sensor deliver crisp, color-accurate images and reveal the fine details that matter most for analysis. Adjust illumination with the built-in LED ring light and brightness wheel to ensure perfect lighting. For reflective or wet surfaces, rotate the polarizer adjustment wheel to minimize glare and reveal hidden details.
When connected vis HDMI, the microscope body is easy to operate with just one hand. On one side, you'll find the power button, menu button, image preview button, navigation controls, and shutter trigger-giving you quick access to settings, saved images, and one-touch snapshots. On the opposite side is the microSD card slot and illuminator brightness wheel, all positioned for easy thumb or finger control.
The included adjustable stand helps you precisely position your specimens. Use the metal post to raise or lower the microscope for coarse focusing and to change magnification. Secure smaller subjects with the built-in specimen clips to keep them steady while you observe or capture images. For larger objects that won't fit on the stage, rotate the microscope arm up to 180 Degree to examine them right on your work surface. The microscope includes a 1/4"-20 thread that allows you to attach it to any standard photo tripod (sold separately), giving you more flexibility in where and how you observe.
Whether you're using a compact tabletop tripod in a tight workspace, a flexible tripod wrapped around a tree branch in the field, or a low-profile tripod for unique angles, you can position the microscope exactly where you need it. To access the thread clip, simply release the locking nut of the microscope clip and remove it from the stand.
Compact, portable, and easy to use, the Celestron Labs Digital MicroDirect Handheld Microscope brings professional-grade imaging to your desktop, whether you're a student, educator, hobbyist, or professional researcher.
