I cannot imagine trying to use my new Nexstar 8SE without the Celestron StarPointer Finderscope! It works great, and I am excited to have it as a part of my equipment for mew telescope.

My telescope was less than a month old when the original scope finder was broken. Searching for the item was seamless, and came much quicker than expected. I would not hesitate to use Adorama again for my astra needs

My other one would not move to the other side for adjusting so I had to get another one. Was waiting for the advanced pointer one, but needed something to hold me over so I could target Mars better.

I was able to quickly align it and use it. On the downside, I took it off the rail then put it back on, I had to realign it again. For the price, it's great! Just remember to turn it off when not in use.

This makes finding objects vastly easier than using a finder scope only. I use it along with 50mm RACI finder. Very easy to use.

Mounting was easy and flexible with the supplied adapters. I found it easy to locate my target, and once aligned with the scope provided an accurate siting. Easier and quicker than a finder scope in my opinion.

Simple to mount and easy to align. Multiple mounting brackets makes it adaptable to a variety of scopes.

I replaced the cheap optical tube star pointer on my Meade 114 reflector telescope with this inexpensive yet excellent star pointer. Made a huge improvement in alignignment and it came with 2 mounts!

Used as a finder scope with telescope. The irregular dot image makes it difficult to determine when the telescope is aligned on target. The on/off knob will not turn the laser off. The knob rotates but the switch does not turn off. If you continue to rotate, the knob retention screw backs out. The depth of the molded rectangular indentation on the back of the knob designed to retain the switch shaft into the back of the knob appears inadequate on the Star pointer I purchased.

I concur with Meatball. The adjustment limits are not adequate to properly align the finderscope.

Works well. Seems cheaply made

Because is made of plastic, you should remove from your telescope before packing. It feels fragil, but so far, after 3 years of intence use, still is in exelent condition. Be sure to turn it off to avoid batery drainage! I even remove the batery because sometimes the finder turns itself on, accidentally, in my messy eyepiece case. In the dark, when I'm turning it on or off, or ajusting the light output, I often mess up the collimation. The dials for light and collimation are in the same side of the finder and they feel similar by the touch.

This is a good idea, but poorly implemented. Not sure if I just got a bum unit, but the azimuth and altitude adjustments do not provide enough range to actually target what the scope is pointing at. Spend a couple more dollars and get something with better adjustability.

Great little finder scope, easy to use, and good for small telescopes.

I cannot imagine trying to use my new Nexstar 8SE without the Celestron StarPointer Finderscope! It works great, and I am excited to have it as a part of my equipment for mew telescope.
For astronomy enthusiasts and sharpshooters alike, the Celestron StarPointer Finderscope offers a seamless, user-friendly way to pinpoint and center your target with precision. This high-quality red dot finder, unlike traditional optical finders, boasts 1x magnification and a broad field of view, mirroring the natural orientation of your vision - right side up and left-to-right correct.
The StarPointer Finderscope's innovative design features an LED that projects a red dot onto a viewing screen. This allows you to simply aim the StarPointer at your desired object or area, look through your eyepiece, and if properly aligned, your target will be perfectly centered in your field of view.
For those who appreciate the benefits of magnification, the StarPointer Finderscope can be paired with an optical finder on your telescope. This is particularly convenient with Schmidt-Cassegrain and EdgeHD telescopes, which feature multiple mounting bracket holes, enabling you to optimize the use of both finders.
Aligning the StarPointer Finderscope is a straightforward process. This one-time setup should be done during daylight hours. Begin by selecting a distant, easily identifiable object, such as a streetlight or tall tree. Position your telescope so it's approximately aimed at the object, then fine-tune the alignment using your low power eyepiece until the object is centered. Once centered, activate the red dot and adjust its position using the two knobs on the side and underneath the finder until the red dot overlays the object in your eyepiece.
This durable, compact, and portable finderscope is designed to maintain its alignment even when detached and reattached to the telescope, unless it's bumped or dropped. The Celestron StarPointer Finderscope is a versatile tool, perfect for enhancing your stargazing or shooting accuracy.
