Questions & Answers

chuck d : goes the body rotate? or once set up on a tripod is the eye peice in a fixed position?MIKE S : The body does not rotate around its longitudinal axis.MACK L : Its a fixed body, you adjust the focus by turning a knob, its very smooth. The eyepiece does not move, not like the telescope. It's a good spotting scope. You can unscrew the eyepiece, if you want to. Another feature is: you can attach a SLR camera with t-ring directly to the eyepiece for "eyepiece projection" photography, you just need to remove the rubber eyecup.TIM C : The eyepiece is fixed in relation to the tripod mount. Imagine a horizontal plane which the tripod mount sits on. Imagine a vertical plane perpendicular to the first plane oriented along the axis of the scope. The eyepiece lies on that vertical plane at a angle to the horizontal plane. If you needed rotate the scope, I suppose you could use one of the C-shaped camera mounts used by pro photographers to quickly change the orientation of a camera from portait to landscape and back. Or something like the Adorama SB300115.RICHARD D : Quite simply, it is fixed.
stew s : Can other eyepieces be used with ths scope, or is the 20x-60x eyepeice that comes with it a permanent part of the scope? Thank youMIKE S : I received my scope a few weeks back. I can confirm that the eyepiece, which is a separate piece screws into the unit. While I don't know it is a standard size, my guess is that it is. So far we're happy with the unit.RICHARD D : The eye piece comes separate from the body of the scope and is held in place by a threaded collar. I have no idea if this is a standard fixture or unique to this scope, but it is intended to be removed when the telescope is transported in the protective cover (one for the scope and a small one for the eye piece).

Great distance and clarity.

While I just received this spotting scope and not used it in the field, the magnification and clarity are outstanding. Using my camera tripod, the distance at which I can clearly see exceeds my expectations.

Very Good Product

I bought this originally for use with my camera. The range of the scope combined with the camera zoom gives incredible views of things you wouldn"t normally see. However, for good quality shots it"s extremely difficult and does leave leave a lot of bluing arounf the subject. But for bird watching or shooting targets or most anything else it"s great.

good scope

I bought this scope for digiscoping with my canon dslr. The combo was powerful and the distance was unbelievable, however it does have some bluing and is very sensitive when firing the camera. It must be absolutely still. For scoping with a piont and shoot it would be good and for hunting, target practice and watching wildlife it is very good. Just remember it"s not a 1500 dollar scope.

Best bang for the buck!

I use this scope in shooting. I can find 22 caliber holes at 200 yards. The only thing I would like to add, is a 60 power eyepiece with longer eye relief. At 60 power you are right on the scope.
