This innovative technology enables film and digital cameras to automatically record key lens data such as focusing distance, aperture, and depth-of-field for every frame shot. This data is then digitally provided to post-production teams, streamlining the production process, saving time and cost, and enabling greater creative freedom.The miniS4/i Prime Lens is a product of handcrafted innovation. Traditional polishing techniques are used to ensure the highest level of precision, while consistent, persistent, and accurate measurements are maintained throughout lens manufacturing. The lens is assembled according to specific measurements, checked, cleaned, tweaked, and rechecked to ensure optimal performance.The miniS4/I series comprises of 10 Prime Lenses, each designed to provide maximum performance at full aperture with superior control of flare, distortion, and spherical aberration. This ensures the signature Cooke Look remains consistent across the series. All miniS4/i prime lenses cover Super 35mm formats and feature an ergonomically designed focus movement for smooth and accurate travel. The lenses also feature an eight-leaf linear module iris assembly, providing an aperture range of T2.8-T22. The Cooke /I Technology ecosystem provides critical lens metadata such as focus and Iris position, as well as individually calibrated lens distortion and shading maps, making it suitable for the most modern VFX applications such as Virtual Production shooting. All MiniS4/I series Primes have standardized 0.8 MOD focus and Iris drive gears, and most lenses in the series also feature a fixed common front diameter of 87mm. The lenses are color balanced and color matched, ensuring consistency across the series.
