It’s an awesome scope. Only one improvement would be a zero stop. The turrets are resettable but there isn’t a way to know for sure you turned your turrets back to the actual zero point. Then again, the reticle is great and allows plenty of holdovers.

The Crimson Trace "Series 2" model line is priced near the lower end of the scale, so don't expect anything stellar. The glass is clear enough and comparable with what you'd get for the price point. There's some distortion at the edges, extending about 10% in, but not really noticeable unless you're looking for it. The mechanicals work well enough. Again nothing stellar, but it does the job for what you'd expect for the price. The only real minus is the weight it's heavy compared to similar scopes. If you're fine with taking a penalty on the weight of the scope, this Crimson Trace will do the job that you're paying for, better than most.

High quality scope. Great glass. Absolutely terrible reticle and the illumination is not visible until it's literally dark out even at the brightest setting, which defeats the purpose. Additionally, mine arrived with a scratch on the objective lens cap (meaning mine was sold to me as new but clearly opened) and there's a defect in the lens at about 7 o'clock seen at 3x zoom, which I would just have Crimson Trace repair/replace if it wasn't for this reticle. The reticle has no real indication of center, which requires you to think that extra moment to ensure you're using the right aim point. I don't know why CT decided on this reticle, but it's not intuitive and this type of scope reticle absolutely must be.

This is easily the Best Buy out there for a long range scope. I’m thrilled with my purchase as nobody in my area carries Crimson Trace I kind of bought it sight unseen. Glass is clear and bright, love the MR1 reticle. Shot about 100 rounds thru so far. Sighting in at 100 yds took about three shots. Shot several sub 1/2 moa groups during barrel break-in. Since I have stretched it out to 350 yds. Tennis ball sized six shot group, always returns to zero perfectly. Also love the flip up glass covers.

Was looking for a close to medium range scope for an AR platform to use on predator control. Terrain varies from open country to dense brush. Needed something to cover targets that were fast moving and close at one power to stationary 200-300 meters at eight power. With the illuminated reticle fading as the power is increased, this was exactly what I was looking for. The only issue I have is the power adjustment ring is very stiff, especially in cold weather. If there were a lever type assist to fit this scope I would most likely mount one.
