Terrible Service

I ordered a set of Laser grips for my smith & Wesson Governor but what arrived was model LG-306 which is designed to replace split grip not unitary Handel. Tried to call Crimson Trace to figure out which model would work but they use the excuse of Pandemic not to avoid speak to customers & instead say send email. So sent email with photo of gun & package - response. Sent again a week later. Tried calling repeatedly - same unhelpful message. If You need help from Crinson Customer Service forget it - they disappeared without a trace (excuse the pun). Would give Zero star if I could & will never deal with them again!

I now have these on ALL my K- and L-frame revolvers

These would be nice grips even if they didn't incorporate a laser. And the laser dramatically increases the probability of a hit - a critical consideration for self-defense revolvers considering their limited capacity.

Concealed carry answer

These laser grips are smaller than my other crimson trace grips, however I do not find them all uncomfortable to shoot full house 357 magnum ammo thru my model 66 2 1/2 inch revolver. The grip also allows speed loader use(HKS) without difficulty. The smaller size does work well with speed loaders, which is very important for self defense. I'm 6'1" tall, and about 190lbs. My hands are certainly not small.I don't really know how crimson trace could have made these grips better defense concealed carry.

LG-306 on 686 not suited to medium/large hands ... too small!

I only gave the LG-306 "3" rating due to surprisingly "small" grip size and CT lack of response to my customer support question / request! In my opinion these would be perfect grips/laser combo if available also in a larger size similar to Uncle Mike's classic rubber grips (I removed for LG-306) or others like Pachymayr grips with backstrap coverage making a deeper hand position and better index finger/trigger guard clearance. Objectively the CT grip/laser quality is outstanding unto themselves ... just like unit on my S&W 340 M&P ... however just too small for medium or larger hands. Without backstrap coverage/depth... grip is s so short front to back my hand (medium/medium large at most I'm only 5' 10") is forced in uncomfortable / unnatural position forcing my 2nd/middle index finger forward against trigger guard, resulting in "pounding' effect upon inside of large flex joint while firing. To be objective, I also had my son use with same grips (he's 6' 0" and 16 years old similar sized hands) and he too found these grips unsuitable / uncomfortable for control ... also experienced same "pounding" of trigger guard against middle index finger big joint. His comment was "this would be perfect for my sister's hands ... not mine thought." I did send customer support feedback reply on line - but did not receive response back ... over 3 months ago. That was VERY disappointing given the general quality of products CT provides. I did NOT expect a solution - but did expect at least a reply / acknowledgement of my submission. This would be a solid product for smaller handed people, but far to small to provide good control, comfort and protection against trigger guard pounding for medium/medium large (or larger) handed people. Simple solution would be to add backstrap coverage version of same grip ... perfect solution for all but small handed people. Again the grip function deserves a 5 as do my 340's and many CT grips ... but small/limited sizing and zero customer support response depletes review to net "3". Hope CT considers us larger handed folks going forward, would be great if larger version available ... but for now I will remove, sell and put my Uncle Mike's grips back on 686 ... what a shame.

Happy Wife - Happy Life

Bought a set of LG-306 Laser Grips for her S&W Model 60 short barrel, big improvement for her on target. Made her so happy we got to experience "Honeymoon" night all over again. After 30 years of marriage, now that's happy. Should be an advertising moto for Crimson Trace. Works for me..........and her.......

Bright dot, comfortable grip, poor fit to frame!

After seeing some older CT laser grips on friends J and k frame revolvers, I decided to give these a try. The first thing I noticed was that the batteries were a very tight fit in their notches, and kept wanting to pop out, making installation a bit more difficult. But then, after getting the batteries secured and the butt of the grips over the frame pin, the top of the grips on the laser side was an extremely difficult fit. The rubber around the upper screw hole, the switch back plate, and the tip of the grip indentation to the frame were such a tight tolerance that it didn't easily go into place. Once I actually got the laser side panel installed on the frame correctly, the right side panel went on easily. But it seemed that the laser part of the right grip and the right upper grip panel still were not flush to the frame. I removed the left-non laser panel and inspected the laser panel fit, and determined that it was as tight against the frame as it would go. So I re-attached the left panel and tightened the screws. Yet the right panel with the laser was still not a flush fit to the frame at the upper front, where the laser is mounted. In fact, I could see daylight between the laser part of the grip and the revolver frame, and could move the laser in and out a bit with light finger pressure. Tightening the screws more did not help anything, right panel still had a gap between the frame and the laser. Further, the right panel also showed a gap at the trigger guard area, even though it was clinched snuggly against the left panel, which did not show a gap. Looking at the laser dot in alignment with the sights, the dot showed considerably right and low, moving slightly as I tightened or loosened my hold on the grips. I talked to a friend who had a similar set up, and they said that they had tried 2 sets of these before giving up because of the poor fit - almost as if the right panel with the laser was warped outwards in front. (Wish I had learned this before I ordered!) Now, my K frame is a m65 3: heavy barrel round butt revolver, so it is going to be a bedside weapon, not a 50 foot target revolver. I will have to take them to the range and see how it works out for me at the 20-20 foot distances. Yet, the fit on these grips is NOT like the other, older CT grips I have seen on other J and k frame revolvers. At this price point, you should not have a movable laser on your grip panels! Since my friend had a similar fitting issue, I am not sure exchanging these will accomplish anything, and if they will work at the distances I need, I might end up keeping them. But at this price point, this seems like pretty shoddy manufacturing, especially for something pre-sighted at the factory!

Outstanding upgrade for the S&W Governor

Bought the CT lasergrips a couple years after I bought my Governor - they are the best upgrade imaginable for an already-excellent 'nightstand' and 'walking-in-the-woods' gun.

S&W Governor Laser-Equipped

Bought my Governor with the LG-306 factory-installed. Zeroed the laser from 50-foot factory setting to 7 yds--combat range. I shoot mainly Federal .410 000 buck & Winchester PDX1. This is my home defense weapon (no children in house). (Also have a LG-417 mounted on a Glock 23 (Gen 3). Love Crimson Trace products & their customer service--including free batteries for life!

Nothing better ! IF YOU DONT HAVE IT, YOU NEED TO GET IT NOW

Put 3 of these on 3 S&W Governor which I issue to my brother in law and my nephew when we are on our hunting property. We have venimous snakes, and bears. The boy was on the ATV, got off to clear a rock out of the way and suprised a rattlesnake who was not happy. The snake struck and missed him, he jumped back on the ATV and fired one .410 #9 at the snake, blowing it to pieces before it could strike again. No time to aim, just point. My lil buddy is alive because of the laser. For woodland defense, you cant beat the combination of the S&W Governor and the LG306. The snake was on the grill before sundown. Thanks CT for your great products, I now own 10 of them including on my personal carry weapon the Glock 21SF in 45ACP. DONT LEAVE HOME WITHOUT IT. Rob, Miami Florida NRA Certified Instructor

An awesome addition to my 686

I recently installed these grips on my 2 1/2" 686. Wow! I was impressed with how versatle the gun became. They fit the gun and my hand perfectly and yet are very compact. I was able to go to the range and chase tin cans on the ground shooting from the hip with very little practice. An impressive and worthwhile addition to my primary concealed carry defense weapon.

Brings my 66-2 into the 21st century.

I bought an S&W 66-2, 2 1/2 inch barrel 357 mag. . The speed increase in target aquisition is incredible. It gives an edge that could mean life or death in gun fight. The place where second place means you are dead or severly injured. The product itself is very well made. The rubber overmold softens recoil in a snappy 357 magnum and the fit to the frame is better than most factory grips. I would not buy a self defense handgun that could not be fitted with Crimson trace laser grips. At the range the grips really make you concentrate on you trigger control. It has made me a better shot especially with a short barreled revolver. It also allows you to shoot without having to line up the sights when speed could mean everything. I am old school when it comes to guns, however after using laser grips it has definitely made me new school.

Model LG-306, for an older S&W Model 65

I got home and decided to install this first (i bought 2 Crimson Trace laser's at the NRA convention in St.Louis) It was as easy as replacing the grip. I took the Pachmayr Grips, that i might add i loved on this gun. Took the one screw out, put the Batt.'s in the new Grip (making sure to put pos. and neg. in the correct direction. Wrapped the grip around the frame and put the 2 new screws in to hold it in place. Squeezed the grip. The light came on and looking down the non adjustable sights of the gun, The laser was set perfect from the Factory ! I know i just put new life in a gun that i used to love to take to the range. The new Grips feel almost the same as the Pac's i took off. Thank you Crimson Trace !

Love those laser sights

I just installed a set on my 6" 686. This is my house gun, answer the door gun, go see what the dogs are barking at in the middle of the night gun. That red dot makes it easy to get on target on a dark moonless night. I have 3 pistols, every one has Crimson Trace laser sights.

Great aid for aging eyes.

I have a set of these installed on a 2" Model 64, which is my everyday sidearm. As my eyes age (I'm 52), I find the stainless sights harder to see, but the Crimson Trace laser insures that I can hit my target regardless, day or night, makes a crucial difference.Wouldn't do without them.

Excellent Product And Best Price Around!

The grip wasn't exactly a easy perfect fit, but with just a little pushing, it all went together fine and works really well! I highly recommend it. ADORAMA had the best price around.
