Love the laser and the grip. Purchased this and the larger j-frame green laser grip for another firearm and love both. However, it's unfortunate they don't offer this with a green laser option.

Great product but the grip on one side has a screw with no bolt on the side not show in pictures.

I'm retired law enforcement (35yrs), I've owned two previous Crimson Trace grips for over ten years! I bought the LG-405 on S&W M&P 340 for three years plus of challenging everyday carry in hot humid climate of South East Georgia, they preform excellent and have endure very well! The small J frame S&W been my backup guns throughout my career and my primary off duty care and in that capacity they get the hardest of environments and so do the LG-405 and they hold up. The grips are small which represent some challenge but also offer excellent concealment, a good trade off as far as I'm concern.

I'm on my second 405 for my J frame...I carry it in my front pocket and both times the padded back strap has started peeling off from the bottom up. The first one was within warranty...this one is not. Crimson trace stated they cannot repair it and that the grip is unchanged. Until design is changed I will look elsewhere. HOGUE has a new LE model LASER grip that shows promise.

I installed the sight on my 340PD. It has definitely reduced the felt recoil, especially with 357 mag. I was concerned about the parallax problems associated with the laser being below and to the right of the barrel. But this is not a problem, because the laser is so easy to adjust. Moreover, defense shooting is normally at a fairly close range so being off by an inch won't help the target much. One of the untold marvels of this sight is that you can use the button that turns it on as a "trigger" to practice instinct shooting from the hip. Just bring the gun up, point, and press the button (rather than pull the trigger). In an emergency, it is not likely that you will have time to aim properly. Love it. Can't wait to use the holster. I just hope that it is as good as the sight. I wish there were more than five stars.

The little Smith J frames should be in everyones defensive lineup. They can be difficult to master however. These grips cut the learning curve considerably and increase the proficiency of any user no matter your skill level. With the ease of installation and sighting in and CT's warranty these are worth every penny.

I just put an LG405 on my S&W 649 and i can now hit the bull area of my target at 50 feet easily. The short barrel snubs can be very difficult to be consistent with, especially if you are in your 70's and have eyes commensurate with that age. This is a great product, required very little adusting and gives me great performance as well as confidence.

my son bought me the 405 lasergrips for my s&w 642 hammerless.took it to the range to dial it in took only seven shots.makes my little 38 very accurate and easy to get on target the acttavation is very convenant all in all a great product.

As an NRA istructor I feel that this is an excellent carry grip for the J frame Smith & Wesson. I carry a model 638 and the fit and function of this grip is great. This is a very compact grip and works well for pocket carry. If you carry in a holster the LG305 may be better as it is extended and gives a little better grip. I love this grip and carry it most days.

One of my favorite concealed carry guns is my S&W 642 hammerless .38 Special with Crimson Trace Lasergrips that were bought for me by my wife. They are model LG-405, and I can tell you it took me less than 5 shots to get it dialed in. These Lasergrips are fantastic on this gun, making it far more accurate than it ever could be without them. Making a 2" revolver a tackdriver can only be accomplished by adding these wonderful LaserGrips. I will continue to enjoy the comfort and peace they bring to me. After several years, they continue to function flawlessly, and I have not had to readjust them since the initial "sighting in." I look forward to adding Crimson Trace to several more of my guns in the near future. Thanks Crimson Trace for a great, reliable product! Keith
