I have have several CT products, all are great. This one is the only one that arrived not properly sighted in. I was eventually able to adjust the windage which was way off to the right.

My only complaint is that is you go to the range and want to use just iron sights, there is no manual shutoff for the laser.

The laser was easy to install and zeroed perfectly from the factory. Was punching the center out of the target while shooting with both eyes open. Adding this to the Shield makes it the perfect carry gun IMO.

I use a shield for EDC. I have been well satisfied with this site. it is daily in a holster on my person or in its place on a go magnet, or riding in the console of the vehicle. The LG-489 is quite durable I have had no mechanical fit or function issues with the site. As far as quality, There is none better. I think the addition of an On/off switch would be the only possible improvement that could be made to the site. The grip contact area is quite small given the model of firearm it is designed for so relaxing a finger to turn off the laser is not tactically prudent for accuracy if you don't want the brightly visible laser giving away your position. I would also like to move to green laser site as they appear to be more visible for targeting purposes in the day time. but that would be a different review.

Recently purchased a M&P 2.0 Shield 9mm with intergraded CT Lazer. I'm very impressed with the easy activation and it was sighted in very well from factory. I definitely recommend this product cane with a solid gun at a price you can't afford to pass up.

We own four M&P's with Crimson Trace sights. They are wonderful products and sure help with aging sight. My wife and daughter have the green lasers and they are bright. I have two red ones and like the fact that battery life will be longer. CT's customer service is great too!

Have had 3 Lg489,s and all have the same failings. Shoot a lot and the laser will go out - everyone did the same thing . Common thread is we shoot between one and two hundred round action pistol scenarios - both open sight (cover the laser with tape ) and with the laser.). After about 40 - 60 continuous rounds or so the laser will just go off shake it ,hit it and it will come back on only to go off again after a few more shots. Note all 3 of my lasers have done this even a replacement one that was tested as good . I think the laser is fine but the battery drains and takes a few moments to regenerate to power the laser. I carry shields knowing I wont get into a 50 round gun fight since I don't carry 50 rounds Just be aware that by my experience there is a problem if your going to blast away I rapid succession.

Fit, installation, and function all perfect, BUT there are times I do not want the laser light on. It gives away my position. It needs an on/off switch.

I'm 72 yrs old and wear glasses for distance. I found it very annoying to align gun sights and then readjust my vision to the target, when I was 'Target Shooting". With a Laser, I use that Laser dot to aim and it's always dead on the target. It's a big help.

I had this item on my Shield for several years and found it to be an invaluable tool on a self-defense weapon. When the pressure switch began to act erratically, I returned it to Crimson trace to inquire about the feasibility of repairing it. I had no sales slip or proof of when I had purchased it. Within one week I received a brand new LG 489. That goes beyond customer service and will certainly keep me as one of their loyal customers.

I am very happy with this product on my Shield 40. Installed quickly and flawlessly. Took it to the indoor range to adjust. Go easy on the adjustments, you may just have it not installed properly if it takes too much to align. No problem here. Great product so far. Have taken it off for cleaning and outdoor range shooting. No problem, just don't like to do that too often. Home defense purpose will leave it on.

The laser light is weak , it looks spread out, .one beam in center surrounded by specs . I will contact them and send this one back , but I don't want to waste anymore of my time , and have any more problems.

I like to say that this laser works well in low light only , at sun down , up to 50 yards, Its not good in day light like the company says I tested it today at noon and can only see it on a white paper target 20 ft max , not up to 50 like the company say ,

I have had CT lasers on all my EDC guns and this by far is the worst one. Will not stay zeroed, goes in and out and after about 100 rounds it now blinks randomly. This is after changing the batterie in it. This has made me rethink trusting my life to a CT laser.

I originally bought this for low-light home defense use but have discovered that it is also a fantastic training aid! Dry fire practice watching the laser move (or not) has improved my grip and trigger control. It has helped me become more accurate with and without the laser sight. Win! I'm likely to get more and would recommend the LaserGuard for anyone who is interested in shooting better. Instinctive Activation is a big plus and my LaserGuard looks just like it is part of the pistol... not a clumsy bolt-on. It goes in and out of my holster without a hitch!

cannot keep lasers sighted after 2 shots it is off target and this is the second laser that Crimson trace sent me ,have a grip laser on a 1911 and works very good ,I think the kick is to hard for the trigger guard laser on the shield.

I have had two CTC laser, this being my second. For what this firearm is designed to do and further what is capable of, anyone who owns the M&P Shield firearm would be doing themselves and their loved ones a great injustice by not purchasing this laser and keeping it on their person at all times. I can't say enough good things. This laser has dramatically increased my wife and I's accuracy greatly. Special consideration is given to the fact we both need to wear glasses. One good shot from the bad guy at night time and without this laser, I'd say, I'd be pretty much up s**t creek without a paddle. With the laser.... no worries... its sorted.

I just returned from the range. shot 150 rounds, 115g FMJ. I must say I am very pleased! My expectations were exceeded immensely! I made no adjustments. Just installed and proceeded firing. At 15' and taking my time, I was putting bullet on top of bullet. 3 mag's I had a 3" group. at 25' i was in about a 12" group and 50' wasn't far behind. the bullets were following the dots, i'm just not as steady as i used to be. I highly recommend this for the M&P Shield 9mm. the fit is excellent. The grip activation is great, the button is very low profile and barely notice it's even there. once i started shooting i didn't even notice and it felt natural. i had to laugh when i stopped to reload my mag's i noticed it was oddly quiet, then i saw the group of fellow shooters behind me watching, lol. I will soon be purchasing one for my Taurus 709 Slim and will enjoy testing that as well. They don't make one for my SD9, so I'll try a railmaster on that and post reviews on both the 709 and the SD9 as they come.

I bought two CT's, one for my Glock Model 22 and one for my S&W Shield. Both are wonderful products, excellent fit and function but the LG-489 is missing a master on-off switch!

I have one of these units on my shield 9 and I love it. It makes training my kids very easy to get on target. I'm saving money for a unit for my shield 40.

I love this style of laser but Crimson Trace does not offer it for a full sized pistol. I have smaller hand and the laser grip for the full sized .45 is too large for me to accurately control the pistol. And I hate the rail mounted lasers (always go out of adjustment and they are not as easily deployed) so that leaves me with this option and its simply not available.

Mine will stop working and suddenly start again, even after CT sent a replacement battery. I suspect the contacts and might try that but may send back for another. All in all disappointed thus far but I will try another unit. Mine is an lg489 for a shield.

This makes my Shield 40 twice as nice. The accuracy is incredible. Besides the accuracy, the ergonomics of the LG 489 makes it perfect for my fore thumb placement. My groups were tighter than ever.... I did have one issue though... it stopped working in the middle of a magazine and then came back on after another shot. It did this a few times. I had to tighten the battery by pulling a bit on the contact spring. Not a big deal. Worth every penny! Fitment and looks are perfect!
