Crimson Trace LaserGuard Green Laser Sight for Smith & Wesson M&P Shield Concealed Carry Pistol

I currently own a Smith & Wesson 40 caliber semi automatic with a red Crimson Trace Laser that I've had for many years I also own a Smith & Wesson 9 m m shield with a green Crimson Trace laser grip activated also I own a Springfield Armory Hellcat 9 mm and I'm waiting for Crimson Trace to manufacture a green laser grip for that weapon also. My wife has a 9 mm Smith & Wesson shield and I'm looking for a used Crimson Trace grip activated green laser or I will end up buying a new one for her also I took my 70 year old neighbor to buy a 9 mm Smith & Wesson Shield and she is going to order a Crimson Trace green grip activated laser in my opinion the green laser is second to none either daytime or nighttime if you don't want to use it when you practice you just put a small piece of black electrical tape over it and shoot all day other manufacturers of lasers are nothing like a Crimson Trace.

I made a huge mistake selecting my M&P Shield 40 w CT Green Laserguard. With the laser activation button on the grip, it is nearly impossible to shoot without activating the laser. And this particular model has no master switch to put the laser in the OFF mode. There are other models where the activation button is on the side of the laser itself -- which, in hindsight, would have been a much better option. I can't believe CT did not add a master switch to this model. Oh well, live and learn.

Perfect fit, easy to install, works every time. It was right on target out of the box. The green laser is definitely more visible than my other red laser for older eyes. I’m about to purchase another green CT for my wife’s new 380 Shield

Thanks to everyone for there reviews, they are why I choose the green laser over the red, and I’m happy I did. The green laser is much more visible in daylight conditions than the red. I’ve put hundreds of rounds through the gun, and the laser has never failed. I would have given it five stars except for the neoprene IWB holster that came free with the laser. This holster is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen. Buy the laser, toss the holster if they ever offer it again. I’ll be buying CT lasers for all my handguns.

I recently ordered the 489G for my S&W .40 and the fit appeared to be extremely nice. When the first round was fired the left laser plate completely dislodged and the plate flew off with the battery. Having owned a number of different lasers I can say this is the first time this has happened. I am unsure if this is a design flaw or a fluke. Either way this is an extremely expensive piece of equipment to break immediately. Especially when this is the exact unit for this specific pistol. Also, there has been zero response from crimson trace about replacing or information as to what happened. I would have to assume this is a safety issue if the screws get stripped when fired. If you want a $300 presentation pointer then purchase this item.

It was better than expected. Total install time from box opening to completed installation was 5 minutes. I went to the range to sight it in and found it spot on at 50 feet. The green is the way to go. Highly recommend it.

Excellent product and very easy to install. Functions perfectly with very bright laser day or night. Adjustment was simple with supplied allen tool. I will purchasing more CT products for sure.

CTC laser sights are more reliable than iron sights given my eyes. I have both red and green Laserguard sights and the green is incredibly more visible. The green laser came with my M&P Shield 9. The red was purchased separately for my Taurus PT709 Slim.

First of all I own 4 Laser guard products and 3 of them are perfect. My newest LT purchase for my M&P shield, 9mm with the green laser is not close to what I expected from Crimson Trace. while the green laser is very bright and easy to see in the daylight the fitment between the Laser guard and the trigger guard is awful. it snags on clothing and flexes when touched not to mention the ugly visual gap. CT blames the problem on S&W for having two molds which may be true but how is that my problem? This is a very expensive sight but unless you are lucky there is a 50/50 chance it will not fit correctly. Great laser/ Poor fit ! W.C.

I purchased my S&W Shield9 with the green laser as a package. From day one it has given me great results. My wife purchased her 9mm and laser separately and it was a snap to install. Fantastic lasers with easy on/off.

Really bright and even casts ambient light in the dark. Took it to outdoor range on cloudy day and no problem. Didn't give it 5 stars because elevation and windage are not marked which [is bad] when you're at the range and don't have the manual. Also they want you to take the laser off to clean the gun, but then you have shoot again to resight the laser ....making it a never ending cycle. I suggest disassembling gun to clean which keeps chemicals away from laser. Overall easy to install, well built, American made and bright.
