As others have noted, the activation switch fails to activate the laser under normal conditions. I had one on my Bersa Thunder 380cc for a couple of years and just got frustrated with it. Eventually I removed it because of the issue. I wanted it to work, but it failed more often than it worked. I have CT lasers on 2 other pistols, a Ruger LCP and a Taurus pt 111 g2 and they function very well. I felt really let down on the item for my Bersa thunder cc, like I was gouged.

I have the same problem as has been discussed at length in the reviews posted below. The activation switch is very difficult to make work. If I hold the grip in a perfect location and with my hand in the ideal spot it will work but if I move the gun in any direction including the aiming point it will go off and not come back on. The design of the switch and the location of the switch is a real problem. I would not recommend this grip as others will attest to. The grip looks great and the installation is great but the functionality of the laser is very poor. If the switch were moved down about 3/8 of an inch and brought out 1/16" it would probable work fine. This is a pretty simple fix for something that was engineered poorly to begin with. 2.5 Stars

I had the LG-646 at first and I was having a hard time with the grip activation. I contacted CT and they sent me one that activated in the front with your second finger. I love it, I can hit bulls eyes all day long at 7 yards and most likely that is the distance you will be encountered with a bad one!

I was disappointed. I just received my laser, installed it and the light will not stay on unless I hold the button which means I cannot fire the gun. Seemed like a good idea but not well executed. Too bad.

Had the same complaint as the above regarding the small button on the rear of the grip. Call Crimson Trace a few weeks ago and the young lady (Name unk) was polite and immediately responded with a solution too my problem. She indicated that they have a new design which will eliminate the problem. A new lasergrip was sent out the next day with a return postage paid envelope.Kudos to this company and a absolute pleasure to deal with. However I did purchased my lasergrip from Crimson Trace and not my local gun shop.

Purchased the LG-646 and I am ABSOLUTELY disappointed in their life threatening lack of ability to function as advertised. This will receive a 1 star but my true feeling is that this product deserves a -10 star rating and I will be steering everyone that I know and come in contact with, far, far, far away from CT.

Received the redesigned grips for my wife's Bersa 380 cc and it works fine off the gun and does not work at all when installed on the gun, put older lasergrip back on. It works better than the new design because I installed some Velcro inside at the pressure point. Just holding the gun now activates the laser.

I have Crimson Trace lasergrips on my CZ 75 and Walther PPK/S. The activation switch is on the front of the grip and they work great! They make impossible shots, like running and shooting possible. The LG 646 for the Bersa Thunder cc has the activation switch on the back of the grip. It is difficult/impossible to keep the light on throughout the trigger pull. Putting a shim on or under the switch fixes the problem Why does C T not redesign or move the switch to the front? They are aware of the problem. A simple pad under the switch would work. Why make the customers modify the product when the factory could easily do it.

They built a piece of junk, (LG646) laser grips,promised its customers,, my self included, a corrected grip was being developed and available in two to three months and they would keep us informed. They Lied ! They are ignoring a serious problem and jeopardizing the lives of their customers by building a very faulty product that could leave the users in a dangerous position if they depend on the lazer to work. In my opinion they are a very irresponsible member of the gun accessory community . As a NRA member i am embarrassed that the NRA recognized them as a credit to the shooting members of our nation. It must be about money because there is no integrity in the way Crimson Trace has treated their customers regarding the dangerously undependable operation of there LG646 grips.. I would like to see Bersa boycott this company and come to their customers aid regarding lazer products. HELLO BERSA,HELP!

Got my grips in Christmas Eve. Assembly was easy, but had to squeeze excessively hard to activate switch. Performed Bob's fix and it is working good now. Word of caution, when reassembling grips to gun, I found that you have to be very careful re-inserting the screws for the grip. Take your time. If the screw does not turn easily don't force it. Re-adjust grips until you can seat the screw with little resistance. Don't want to cause cross threading of the screw.

I waited 4 years for a laser to be produced for this weapon and was so excited to find it finally was being produced !! However when I received the product, I was less than impressed!! the feel was that of cheap plastic" not like the nice rubber feel, of the other 3 grips I have purchased for other pistols, but my biggest disappointment was certainly the fact I can not activate the laser, under real life pointing and laser activations, I really must press with the web of my hand to a point of holding the weapon becomes uncomfortable, so I called the factory and spoke with a girl, who said indeed they were receiving calls of disatisfaction with the amount of pressure needed to properly activate the switch, but also said, there was nothing that could be done for my problem, since I bought the grips from a dealer and not directly from the factory, and suggested I call the selling party and tell them, nor could I trade then for another model, so I guess I'm stuck with a 200 poorly designed product, sorry but that's not good customer service folks !!!

I will forever think twice before buying another crimson trace product. The activation switch is the problem. I think I am better off without the grips because I won't instinctively rely on something that doesn't work properly. The amount of pressure needed to activate the laser slows my reaction time and causes my aim to drift from the excessive grip pressure needed.

I am glad to see that I am not the only one that has had a problem with this laser. Very disappointed in CT in that they would release a product out on the market that in a life and death defense situation can not be relied on to perform. It seems that the only person that can help at CT from the other raters is Eric. If you have to Jerry Rig some kind of fix (tape or felt), the product has a problem and doesn't deserve a rating that is above 1 Star. I purchased three lasers my wife's and my Bersa 380 CC pistols and they all have the same issue. I will be calling Eric tomorrow to see if there is a remedy for my problem. If not you will be hearing from me again. Whoever released this product for use by a citizen defending his or her life and family....... You Stink!

I purchased this model for my wife's Bersa 380 cc and she could not make the activation work with her grip. I called Eric and he shipped me another new one within a week and it works fine. Next time you have a problem just call Eric and he can help, just be sure you ask for him. Great customer service .

The activation button system on this grip is very poorly designed, but I think I have come up with a solution. Upon closer examination, I observed that there is a concave area on the inside of the grip opposite the activation button. This concave area (about 1/4" square) prevents any support from the rear when the button is compressed. I cut about 10 1/4" squares of black electrical tape and stuck them one atop another until this concave void was filled. Now the activation button is firmly supported from the rear and very slight gripping pressure is necessary to activate the laser and keep it on. There is no damage to either the grip or the gun and it works perfectly. As a retired law enforcement officer and FBI firearms instructor, I have several handguns equipped with Crimson Trace lasers and have never had any problems with any of them. Their design team definitely "missed the target" on this one and I hope their next production run will incorporate a fix similar to mine. That concave void is where the problem lies and for those reviewers experiencing similar problems I suggest giving my "fix" a try. Your gun should now work perfectly.

The review by John,Bob and jerry pretty much covers my lack of satisfaction with the Crimson Trace company and its customer service staff ( for the lack of a civil acceptable description). The one person I spoke to arranged for the return and reimbursement for the faulty grips after i was informed that they were aware that there was a problem but no corrective action was scheduled. That person forwarded me to phone mail for a senior person . After several calls and not receiving a single return call I have finally come to the realization that Crimson Trace has got too fat and forgotten how they got where their at. What really hurts is the NRA. gave them a manufacturers award for 2014 for manufacturing amongst other items laser grips, that are not unlike a spare tire with out air in it, for a gun that is often used as a back up weapon. To sum this letter up,I would still like a set of laser grips but they have to work properly. There is no market for non dependable accessories for fire arms.

I wanted to update my review on these grips. I called Crimson trace support one last time. Thinking if I spoke to someone else it might help. I spoke to a young man named Eric. He was extremely courteous and helpful. He apologized for the difficulty I had had with customer support previously and for the problem I was having with the lg 646 grips. He asked the name of the person I had spoke to previously, but I couldn't remember. As I had bought the grips from a third party vendor. He immediately offered to replace the grips with any other crimson trace product and suggested I take some time to look through their product line to see if there was something I would like. He gave me his direct phone number so I could call him personally when I had made up my mind. I did as he suggested and called back the next day. He was out when I called, but returned my call within half an hour. I asked for the lg 412 for the ruger lc9s which I had recently acquired he said he would send them right out. I was very happy with his response and I wish I had talked to Eric the first time I called. He said they were having changes in the support department and I suspect whoever I spoke to the first time might have been one of those changes. I saw that the lg 412 has excellent reviews and I am now quite happy with my experience. I had a problem and they made it right. Crimson Trace, I think you should give Eric a raise!

Easy to install and fits all holsters. Additionally, the product was accurate out of the box. Some reviews indicate difficulty with the button pressure. I find the pressure needed to be minimal. In fact, merely moving my finger to the trigger, and gently squeezing the trigger will activate the laser. I find this to be the case with the weaver style grip, the one-handed grip, and the finger over the trigger guard grip. The laser is activated by gently flexing the hand. I specifically purchased the Bersa 380 cc because of this available laser.

I recently purchased Crimson trace lg 646 laser grips for the Bersa thunder cc. Much to my surprise they are essentially useless. The way the grip is designed it is nearly impossible to activate the laser. I have two other crimson trace grips on S&W revolvers and they work perfectly. So I was quite surprised to find that the lg 646 did not. I can only activate the laser by squeezing the grips so hard that it makes my hand hurt and even then it will not stay on. It is not possible to use the gun this way. It is impossible to use these grips. I called the your company's customer support to talk to them about it. Apparently your customer service is not what it is cracked up to be. I called on two different days and got an answering service. I left my name and number both times and you never called back. I called a third time and actually got to talk to a rep who just said yes they are very hard to activate and that was it, nothing they could do about it and suggested I return the grips. Basically just blew me off. I thought the young lady I talked to perhaps just didn't know what she was doing so I wrote to your customer support about the problem and they never responded. The way they are designed makes them simply useless. the whole idea of crimson trace is that they turn on instinctively without even thinking about it. the ones I have on two of my revolvers work perfectly. These (the lg646) are nearly impossible to activate no matter what you do. I had several friends try them thinking perhaps it was just my grip or my hand but it was the same for everyone who tried it. I am deeply disappointed in your product and in your customer service. I recommended to the dealer that I bought them from that he return any he had in stock to crimson trace as I'm sure no one would want to keep them. Unless the lg 646 is redesigned, perhaps by simply making the activation button stick out higher from the grip they are useless.

sort or disappointed after waiting a long time for this Laser the button on grip is hard to activate for myself my wife can't activate it so I put a small 1/8 inch thick round piece of felt on button and that seem to solve the problem other than that looks good feels good sights Easy

I have been waiting a while for this these laser grips. It was well worth the wait. excellent design. took me 3 minutes to remove original grips plus install the new grips. Adjusting the laser sights was easy and it came with the right size mini wrenches. Very pleased with this product. with the different items I have purchased I really trust Crimson Trace.
