Great bag to carry extra lenses and items while you're busy shooting. Even fully loaded the weight is very well distributed. Far more comfortable than wearing a backpack filled with the exact some gear. Only downside is it won't really hold a camera body very well unless it's like a small mirrorless.

I had wanted this for a long while. I was finally able to acquire when it was on sale Black Friday. Since I use primes more often this is useful for event shooting. It is easy to get into

I just received the Shootsac and have not been able to fully explore its potential, but I am eager to do so. While it is similar to my Think Tank retrospective bag in that it has three slots for lenses, the Shootsac has both advantages and disadvantages over the Think Tank. First, the advantages: (1) it is lighter; (2) it confirms more easily to the body, making it less obtrusive; (3) the flap is removable, making the lenses more assessable. Now the disadvantages: (1) the design for the pockets for keys, memory cards, etc. is poor, in that they are too narrow and too deep -- little items will gravitate to the bottom and get lost or, worse, fall out. I recommend using a card wallet or other holder rather than just throw a bunch of loos cards in the pocket; (2) no manner with which to attach the Shoot sac to a belt. Thus, it tends to shift when I bend down or kneel. I will try it out soon to see if it otherwise works as advertised.

1) How I use the Shootsac: - I use the Shootsac to store and carry my lenses. - If I am not shooting, I am carrying all 5 of my Canon "L" lenses in 2 of them and a speedlite in the 6th pocket. - When I am shooting, I would typically carry my camera with a lens mounted and in my shootsac, 2 lenses and a speedlite. 2) Things that are great about the Shootsac; - It is made of wetsuit-grade neoprene. Very protective and soft. - It has a very minimalistic, simplistic design. - It contains 3 pockets for lenses, which fit really well and snug. - It contains 3 back pockets, where you can slide in small accessories. - The hook that connects to the ring for the shoulder strap can also double as a place to hook certain accessories. - The padding for the shoulder strap is amazingly comfortable. - It's black, so it helps you blend with environments such as weddings. - You can get other covers that have designs on them to your liking. - It is designed well for fast access and lens swapping. 3) Things that aren't so great about the Shootsac: - It does not "zip" or stay sealed shut if that's what you're looking for. - The padding for the shoulder strap doesn't come with the bag. (sold separately) Other than that, it is probably the best lens bag I've seen so far. I constantly swap lenses and this suits my purpose since I don't have time to unzip and zip, yet I demand a bag that still somehow secure and protect my belongings and this would be it. I own 2 of them, so I hope that speaks for itself, so enjoy yours! =]

Love this bag. It is very well-made, protects the lenses well and the compartments are big enough to fit most larger lenses. It is convenient and comfortable for shoots where you want to have your lenses quickly accessible. It also can be folded and tucked into a larger accessories bag. The video is helpful in that the designer recommends how high to carry it for maximum comfort (waist level) and to also leave the middle compartment empty so it molds to your body. I have to agree with her assessment, though you could easily put a third lens in the middle if you wanted to. I also carry it a bit lower than suggested, since it's hard to grab the lenses if you carry it waist-high. You could also slide in a smaller camera body without the lens attached. I find the cover to be a nuisance, so I just removed it. I can see where some people are having trouble with putting lenses in with the hoods attached; it would be pretty snug for most lenses. Be sure to read the size dimensions and watch the video; this bag is much larger than I had anticipated, almost brief-case size. I have to ding it a star for not including the strap pad, which you will definitely want to get. That's just really cheesy in a bag at this high price point to not include the pad; Shootsac should think about customer relations...not including the strap put a damper on what was otherwise a positive purchase. Everything well packed and quickly delivered by Adorama.

This product is maybe worth about $. I cant believe I was sucked into the hype of buying this item. The strap is NOT for all day comfort use as your shoulders will hurt from the thinness of the strap. I dont get why people are saying the strap is comfy. There is no way I can shoot a long wedding with this thing on. If thin straps like these were comfortable, then bag makers like north face, timbuk2, etc wouldnt even want to put 2-3in straps on their packs! The bag itself, be really careful of running while you have a 70-200 in there. It WILL pop out and smash on the floor! I did not feel safe with this bag carrying my expensive gear after that happened to me. And lean forward for a shot and that bag will come annoying, swinging to your frontside. This bag is not much more than an expensive fashion statement with little utility. Best decision ever to get rid of this bag and go for something else. Couldnt have been happier.

only wish that there was some way of securing the flap going over the lenses to avoid any type of dust or debris from getting in.

I loved this product when I first got it and would recommend it. My bag began to tear at the seams so that's my only concern. I did find it hard to pull my lenses out (large lenses). I have since gotten a Kelly Moore Bag and love it.

I have been wanting this bag for a while now, so I finally purchased it and I have to say it isn't what I was hoping for. The front 3 pockets are great, although it's not that easy taking the lenses in and out because the neoprene conforms to your body. I wanted to be able to at least store my camera body in the bag as well but it doesn't fit! even with my grip off the pockets are too tight. My main uses for this bag was while I was shooting a wedding ceremony and reception and needed to switch lenses, flash and reload on batteries, but I purchased the shoulder pad and it prevents me from being able to swing the bag around to access my gear. So in short....not too impressed, yes the front three pockets work, but for the price I would have liked to at least be able to fit my body in the bag as well. My flash slips in and out easily but my lens are too big and I have to use 2 hands to pull them in and out, if the bag and pockets themselves were bigger this bag would be great.

It's lightweight. You forget it's there. Carries all the little essentials you need on a shoot and allows you to change lenses on the fly. Exactly what I needed. BUT SO EXPENSIVE for what the bag is. (Holds its value given what they sell for used.) I'm happy I splurged.

I really liked this bag at first. I think it would be a great fit for some, but I just out grew it. It only holds lenses, and I didn't like that you can't change the compartment size at all. It isn't super sturdy so it doesn't stand on it's own or protect the lenses very well. I also always felt like my memory cards and batteries would get lost inside. It works great for a portrait session, but not so much for a wedding. It does fit close to the body well. I used my bag for about a year and sold it. I know use a Kelly Moore Bag and LOVE IT! It is bigger but perfect for me!

i'm a part-time pro photog that shoots weddings, parties, and portraits, i use all primes, and got tired of using my pants pockets to carry the 2 or 3 lenses i use most around with me. i researched high and low for a solution, and this was the best i could find. it can be a bit cumbersome, since i also use an R-strap, but i think it's the best solution available for my needs and preferences (form factor, discreteness, etc). my shoulder(s) and back can be sore after a LONG day, but that's going to happen with any shoulder-strap solutions, and the effect with the shootsac is minimal. bottom line, i do wish there were a better solution out there, especially at this price point, but if you can palate this price, this is a good solution.

The shootsac is the best shooting bag I've ever used. I've had many bags with "easy-access" compartments and plenty of zippers but it is still a pain to swap gear during a shoot. Holds several lenses plus batteries, cards, speedlite, body, etc. Be sure to get the strap the correct length so that the metal clips don't hurt your hips. If you're using a 70-200, be prepared for the occasional bruise from that thing bouncing against your side. I would definitely recommend getting the shoulder pad. I also added a carabiner to the "O" ring, which really helped the clips to lay flat against my hip.

For the sake of helpfulness, I will cover 3 important sections in this review: 1) How I use it: - I use this bag in almost all of my shoots. - I usually carries extra lenses, with the exception of an extra flash or other accessories. 2) What's great about this product: - For starters, it does an AMAZING job storing my other lenses/accessories. No joke. Everything is safe and very easy to access. - Wetsuit-grade neoprene. Need I say more. It's super soft and super protective, without too much bulk. - It actually looks nice. It's simple and customizable. I'm a guy and I use the plain black and it blends with my slacks, bag, and equipment. Very professional looking. 3) What's not so great about it: - They would probably sell more if they made it in other colors, or perhaps different sizes. - I don't like how this company hasn't tried to make other types of bags, because this is genius and I want more of it! Very handy when you're shooting with more than one lens. It's like the perfect holster for a gun, except we're shooting with cameras!

I recently used this product photographing events and it was one of the best investments to my business made. I didn't have to fumble in a backpack to change lenses, I had everything at my fingertips. When photographing events, time is everything and this product allowed me the freedom to provide the services and the quality results without imposing on my time!

Been wanting one for a while, but didn't want to spend the $$. Then I found my current means of carrying my equipment was getting more awkward the more I tried to access my gear. I was fed up and tired of my gear not being adequately held in place or to many zippered compartments to find want I needed in time. Couldn't be happier with my purchase. Worth every penny and more. Holds everything I need and then some.

Opinions vary wildly on the Shootsac. Among my professional wedding photographer friends, a few swear by it, a few hate it, and a few think it's OK. This didn't help me! It's easier when most of what you read about or hear about a particular product is all positive or all negative. I waffled for months on whether or not to get one. I was put off by the price, as well as the relatively feminine vibe it has. (I don't know any guys who have one.) Finally I took the plunge knowing I just needed to try it. I could return it if I didn't like it. The verdict: sold. The Shootsac is not a perfect bag nor is it the best bag for every photographer. However, it is exactly what I was looking for. If your use case is similar to mine I would highly recommend it. As a professional wedding photographer I am constantly switching lenses. I don't like carrying two camera bodies and I love using prime lenses. My current lens lineup is 80-200mm f/2.8, 50mm f/1.8, 28mm f/2.8, and 12-24mm f/4. I store everything in a large LowePro bag. I found that I was putting lenses on the ground or on tables after taking them off my camera. Then I would have to search around when I needed that lens again. Plus I was constantly losing lens caps. I quickly realized this was unsustainable. I was missing shots because my lenses weren't quickly accessible and I knew I would eventually lose, forget, or break one of my lenses if I kept leaving them around. I realized I needed a bag. Something lightweight, low profile, that would allow me to have all my lenses with me at all times but also wouldn't burden me with a heavy load or hinder my mobility with its bulk. The Shootsac fits this profile perfectly and so far has functioned exactly the way I wanted. It's solved all the problems I wanted a lens bag to solve. Now when I get to an event location I take all my lens caps off and put them in my travel bag, then load up my lenses in the Shootsac. The 80-200 is a lot smaller than the newer 70-200s, and the primes are very small. I also don't use lens hoods, so everything fits very well in the 3 "silos" as I call them. There is an elastic band at the top of each silo that kind of constricts the opening. This helps keep the lenses in the sleeve, but also makes it more challenging to get them out. The more I used it the better I became at getting the lenses out of the silos. Personally I would rather have it this way than having lenses fall out all the time. The flap doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I didn't like having to fip it up AND hold it up while I switch lenses. I finally just opened it up all the way and pinned it between my body and the bag, essentially leaving the top of the sleeves open all the time. This works great and gives me instant access to my lenses. I wear the Shootsac like a messenger bag, on my left sholder with the bag hugging my right hip or my back. The bag itself weighs almost nothing, and the neoprene really molds to the way you're carrying it. As a result it really feels like the Shootsac is just an extension of your body. I'm not really aware of it while I'm shooting and it hasn't gotten in my way at all. I've tried other bags that flopped around or were really bulky, and I always felt weighed down by them. Using the Shootsac has been like changing in to tennis shoes after running in boots. Now I'm not aware of what I'm wearing, just what I'm doing. It's been very liberating! I do not think the Shootsac would be a good camera bag. It's not made for that and isn't secure enough. I don't like the fact that you can't change the strap. The strap is relatively thin and can become a little uncomfortable after a long day. It would be nice to be able to put any strap you like on it. I'm also not sure how well it would handle a large lens like the 70-200 with a lens hood on. My suspicion is "not very well". If you use that lens and have to have a lens hood on, this might not be the bag for you. However, these are the only criticisms I have. I've only used the Shootsac for one wedding, but I feel like a new photographer. I have all of my tools with me when I need them. I don't think it's a coincidence that my one wedding with the Shootsac yielded the best set of candid shots of any wedding I've done so far. And the all black bag really just looks sleek, not feminine, but others may disagree. At this point I plan to keep the bag, and I feel like my experience with it has justified the price. I hope my thoughts have been helpful!

I did A LOT of research before purchasing this bag, because I wanted to make sure it was worth the money and I knew what I was looking for. This bag is great for shoots and weddings - but not for everyday storage. I think it works great and was exactly what I was hoping for. I've read other reviews that noted this bag wasn't large enough or didn't feel secure - but I haven't had any issues. Overall I'm really satisfied.

I am absolutely in love with the Shootsac and am so excited I decided to purchase one! It's great as just a lens bag. It can also store your extra batteries, memory cards and keys in the other pockets. It's a great bag. I definitely recommend it.

I LOVE my bag! I purchased it several months ago and recently came back to get a few more covers. It has helped me numerous times allowing me to get the lenses I needed when I needed them. Before I had my shootsac, it was pretty common for me to leave my lenses on the floor or in hotel rooms, but now that I have a good way to keep them on me, that never happens anymore. One of the things I have been most impressed with is how durable it is! I've been hiking, traveling, in muddy and dusty conditions and the bag has performed better than expected on all counts. I'm a fan--thanks for coming up with something awesome!

I am a pro wedding and event photographer. I have been using this bag for the past 3 years and can't remember how I used to work without it. I use 2 of the front 3 lens pockets to hold extra lenses while I'm shooting. With 3 Canon L series lenses on me at all times, I can be more creative with my lens choices. Like most pros I use a rolling bag as my main gear bag... fully loaded with all my lenses and back up gear, those things are heavy -- so the shootsac carries just what I need at the moment. This is the only bag I know of that wraps around the body so that I can wear it at dressy events and not feel like I'm hauling a jet pack on my hip. This bag is worth the price just to give me a way to use my 70-200 2.8. I love that lens but had a heck of a time using it at events before I found the Shootsac. Loving this smart design.

I absolutely love this bag! I do a lot of shooting in crowded areas, on the Las Vegas Strip. The Shootsac it makes it so much easier. I no longer have to drag around a bulky camera bag with my exta gear. While I like it for it's stylish looks, more importantly the neophrene wet suit material "hugs" your gear, and protects all that precious glass. I was very happy with Adorama[...]
