Very good speed. Highly recommended if you can find it on sale. Not worth it at full price.

it's what it says on the tin - one of the most price competitive SSD's on the Market that's still from a Company with a reputation. performs as you'd expect a larger Capacity w/ Cache SSD to perform. fills the SATA 6Gb/s link.

The product itself is great, but shipping took a bit too long for such a small item, otherwise I would rate the product 5 stars

The Crucial MX500 1TB 2.5" Internal Solid State Drive, SATA III 6Bb/s is very good. I have it installed in a separate Apple M1 style extension connected directly to my Apple M1 Mini as a back up and it works great.

Well if you don't live under a rock, @getnumrel makes it easy to spin up a Bitcoin/Lightning Node using this reliable solid state drive just like thousands of others. Recommended for the price for performance you can't get anywhere else.

Good basic SSD. Not as fast as the Samsung's but we use them in our NAS systems to give us a quick, reliable base for our data. Bought quite a few and none have failed. Not going to give you NVMe speeds but certainly fast enough for 95% of users. Some have commented about the "bland" presentation but once it is in a unit you don't see it anyway, so who cares? We would like to see them make a 4tb/8tb staying proportionally priced with the other sizes.

I've used a Lot of these MX500 SSDs and it's one of the only 2 I offer my family, friends, and clients. Building and repairing PCs for well over 10 years, I've had the opportunity to run tests on SSDs I've installed, save the results, and check them throughout the life of the system. Almost every other brand can not maintain the read/write performance the SSD has when it was new, except these Crucial SSDs made by Micron, and the Samsung Evo and Pro models. Some SSDs read/write speeds decrease even after just a few months of normal use, and testing them a year later I've seen decreased speeds of around 50% compared to the test when it was new. These MX500 maintain their performance for years in my experience. I have used these Crucial MX500 models in some of my systems, set them up in RAID on a couple of systems, RAID 0 and RAID 10, and just installed this one in a clients laptop, which they were going to get rid of, but really the only thing wrong with it was the already super slow 5400RPM rotational SATA drive in it was failing. Used this MX500 as a replacement, put a fresh Win 10 install on it, over provisioned it by an additional around 40GB, disabled the recycle bin to cut down on read/writes. Didn't disable the page file because they need more RAM, and not sure if anything they're going to run needs a page file, don't want it crashing on them. The client was Very happy with the boot speed of the HP Envy laptop it's in. These come with a spacer which I did use on the Envy laptop. They also come with an Acronis license you can use to clone your old data and OS right onto the SSD. The software will only work if it can detect the Crucial SSD, and once you're done cloning make sure you, shut down, and disconnect the old drive before turning the system back on again, 2 hard drives with the same exact signature will cause problems. I have used their included Acronis software several times in the past to successfully clone a working OS. It wont clone a RAID array, but it will clone an MBR or GPT. For this particular job I did a fresh install on the SSD and Win 10 automatically reactivated itself with a digital license. You can use Microsoft Media Creation tool to burn the Win 10 ISO to a flash drive or DVD media, and during install just click that you don't have a license key, so long as Windows was already activated on the PC, it should activate once you get the system online. Another route you can take to ensure activation is making yourself a Microsoft account prior to switching out the hard drive, this will change the way you log in to your PC from a local account to your Microsoft account, but it will also bind your OS license to your Microsoft account. You can verify it by looking in your windows Settings, Update & Security, Activation, it should read that your license is activated and linked to your microsoft account. After installing windows, choose your Microsoft account as the way you will sign in to your PC, use your credentials to log in, and it should activate with no problems. I know, this is a long review, hoping it may help someone make an informed decision, and avoid some of the pitfalls :)

This is a fantastic SSD for the price. There are better ones available, but for the price vs performance, very few on the market beats this.
Excellent drive, great price

My computer is an HP Pavillion DV7 with Windows 7 OS. I used this 1 TB drive to replace an older 250GB Crucial drive that I had installed when the laptop was new. The older drive still worked fine, but space was at a premium. The MX500 1 TB slipped in easily. I used the special software to migrate the contents of the older drive. I also watched several YouTube videos to be sure I understood how to do it. When I was finished, my laptop started right up. Great to have plenty of room for my file...
