Fantastic buy!

First Cullman tripod I have ever owned, won't be the last. Although I don't foresee having to replace it anytime soon. Very well made, it has handled everything I have thrown at it. My only complaint is that the Manfrotto ball head that I use on it, works itself loose, from time to time.

Great legs, on the cheap

This is a really well constructed set of legs. The are light enough that carrying them doesn't become a hassle, yet they are extremely sturdy.

Great tripod at a great price.

I wish I had purchased it sooner. The tripod is impressive looking when you take it out of the box, it looks very well made "professional grade" without the high price tag. All of the adjustments are smooth and work great, the height is perfect for taller people, no more slouching. The legs have adjustable rubber feet that hide spikes if needed, and all three legs have the foam padding which help protect it and provide good grip. I purchased the Vanguard SBH-100 ball head to go with it which for the price is incredible. The tripod folds up to a typical length and it's a little bit on the heavy side but that's because it's a very substantial piece of equipment.

About Cullmann 528

The Cullmann Magnesit 528 Tripod Legs is an intelligently-designed 3-section professional's class tripod, meant for use with large SLR cameras and the large, bright telephoto lenses professionals often employ, such as a flagship-class SLR with a 300mm f/2.8 lens. Even when using smaller items, the larger maximum tube diameter can occasionally benefit your images' sharpness in tough conditions.

The Magnesit 528 reaches a maximum height of 5.5', collapses to <25" (63cm) and thanks to the independent leg spread and 2-part center column can operate at a low working height of just under 7". The 528's crown has a special design which mates with Cullmann's Magnesit Nm series ball heads in a locking, 100% secure fashion.

The 528 is named the 'Magnesit' because of its extensive use of magnesium in the casings and fittings. Magnesium's a light and stable metal, helping to contribute to the manageable weight of 4.4 pounds.
