While the documentation states it may not work with older phones, you may need an older phone or tablet to be able to use this. The app will work with any Android device, the problem is that with the release of Android 14 you can no longer save photos or video of your shooting. I've reported it to Customer Support, but the answer is got was they were aware, and were supposedly going to get it fixed. Horever the app hasn't been updated, while they apparently are focused on their new chronograph line. I've also suffered the broken clamp issue, but will say in that case that customer support was very responsive.

This camera will not display picture on my S9. So I bought a Tab A8. It will not display a picture on it either. I tried a friends S7 and it worked fine. The camera works but dos not seem to display a picture on devices made in the last 10 years. I call CS and they are aware of the problem, but do not have a fix. I am very disappointed and out a lot of money.

I too had an issue with the clamp breaking but they will replace it for you. I had a bad battery when new and they just about over nighted a new one that fixed the problem. I've only used it out to 700 yards so far but didn't even need the receiver at that range. Straight to my IPad. The system works very well. Excellent customer service.

To the powers at be DO NOT BUY ANYTHING ELECTRICAL FROM CALDWELL... THIS IS WHY I want to let you know that both products on the web and in reviews was stellar. That I decided to purchase Ballistic Precision G2 Chronograph along with Ballistic Precision LR Target camera system. That total $259.99 and $474.99, a little more than $700 which was not so bad for the items I was buying. I was excited to plan a day of target shooting in the desert. This was a big deal since I had no spotter when shooting by myself. After shooting, walk down range to view my hits, then returning to the original shooting position. His is not so bad when your target is 50 yards, but when downrange is over 100 yards and more, time at the bench becomes less enjoyable. Ballistic Precision G2 Chronograph proved to have a definite impact in my system at first. Well, it only took four instances' before having that fail. Of course, I did everything to get it working but it was pointless. I called Caldwell, spoke to a representative, sent a new unit to me and said keep the old one as parts. That was significant at that time but low-and be hold the next time out the Ballistic Precision LR Target camera system went on the fritz. Again, resorting to all the things that could be wrong, and trust me, I spent hours trying the resolve the problems, but the camera system refused the be operatable. Now, my last dish effort to get an item that works like advertised from Caldwell. One that last longer than a year, and you can count-on. I will be putting this review in as many places that I see on the web. Furthermore, in kind, I will post the outcome resolve in the same location. Very Truly Shooting Customer Jamie Maurer

I have used this camera several times and had good luck after i found out you need to turn on wifi and shut off mobile data, then it connects, however today i did have that camera clamp break, i see the spring is large for the plastic, i was able to stand it in the snow and get by but i would like to get a new clamp, maybe a new version since it seems to be such a week spot, john b

The hardware seems fairly ok, I did have the broken clamp issue EVERYONE has had (bad design), but used something else. The app is real flakey and crashes a lot and is not updated for newer proper android OS. Really wish another company would come along and easily dominate.

1st couple times we used the Caldwell Camera system, everything connected and worked fantastic. We had set up west of all of our buildings in a large field. Today we set up to sight in at 100 yards out our back door. We could not get the Transmitter and Receiver to connect and register in the WIFI setting. So, I took the system west of the buildings and set it up. The Transmitter and Receiver connected and was able to find the Receiver on the WIFI network settings on my android device. I left the whole system connected and turned on and brought it back to the house. It worked perfect. We have too many devices within our home and buildings that use 2.4 GHz. I believe wireless waves interfered with the Transmitter and Receiver connecting to each other. The other obstacle that I see many comments on is that you must go to your WIFI settings on your phone or tablet and connect to the "Receiver" from the listed available networks.

The clamp broke on the very first use. I was trying to be extra careful due to the bad reviews of the clamp and the cheap plastic still broke while adjusting camera focus on the target. The target camera works flawlessly. but keeping the camera in place with the broken clamp is a challenge. I have sent an email addressing the issue but received no response. Too bad. It could be a quality product.

Clip broke can't get a replacement so I used duck tape. I just connected to my Samsung A13. Tablets it's a hit or miss. I believe I can connect to iPad but not my tablet. So far I have been able to overcome these issues, what really gets me ix the battery life. If you are planning to use it for long distance, by the time you finish setting up the batteries are dead. Looking for battery replacement with very little luck. So I have had the camera for 2 years I have used it in the field twice. I will follow up once I figure out the power issue.

Camera clamp broke on first use. Camera system itself seems to work fine but is useless if you can't mount it to the stand.

Clip broke after first time using. Wi-Fi looses signal constantly even though signal booster and camera were in plain sight of each other. (Set up at 300yds)

Have had it for about two years and used it a couple times and loved it. Great view of my target's. Bought two new rifles and set it up for zeroing them in. I wasn't using the receiver and the unit was only on for an hour when I went to replace a target. Suddenly I heard a tackling and popping noise from it and it burst into flames. I struggled to unplug the camera from the transmitter as to save it. Got burned from the dripping hot green plastic. Outside temperature was 89 degrees so I don't know if it was to hot or if something just shorted in the battery. I still need a target camera but not sure if I should buy another one like this one. I'm just really glad it wasn't still in the back of my new bronco when it happened or based on the amount of fire coming from it my truck would have probably burnt to the ground. Explain that to your insurance company. Other than that it works really well.
