Great option for bench shooting! For reference, I grew up sighting in rifles shooting either prone supported, or even seated (not a great option). For the past 15 years or so, I used my Dad's "Buck Bench", which is foldable but really is hard to stabilize unless it was placed on very flat ground. The thing I like best about the Stable Table is the adjustable position and height of the seat, which really makes this great for stable shooting. The lip on the edge of the table surface keeps ammo and expended brass from rolling off. This thing is really heavy, which obviously makes it very stable, but don't plan on carrying this table too far, even with the Caldwell bag. If I had one very minor complaint, it would be the size of the table is just a bit small. The table surface is big enough but a little extra real estate would be great, maybe just two inches wider and longer. Two more suggestions for improvement: 1) Add threaded feet on the end of the three legs so you could level this out on uneven ground. The locking bolt for one of the legs does allow some amount of leveling, but wasn't enough for the slope at of the places I like to go shooting. I bring different sizes of wooden blocks ranging from 3/4 inches to a 4x so I can level out, and am also throwing a magnetic torpedo level into my range box to ensure the table surface is as level as possible. 2) Change the surface material of the table. It is a little slippery, so perhaps a spongy surface that would lock in sleds, bench bags, etc. Still, even with these suggestions, I am totally happy with the Stable Table and would highly recommend it!

Bought this on July 19th at the Scheels in Colorado Springs. I set it up on a camping trip to do some target shooting. Assembly and disassembly is a breeze. As for transport, I placed it in the bed of my full size pickup truck when moving it to the field (it was just a short distance). While one could shoot from the back of a truck, I did not and placed it on the ground when I got to the field. It is very well built and finished with a hard, shiny paint that should protect it from major wear and tear. I do wish it came with a canvas storage bag, but it does not. There are 6 main components to keep track of so I ordered a 48" by 20" bag on Amazon per another reviewer and will trust it works.

Awesome Table!!! It's incredibly robust. I put it in the back of my truck bed and can swivel around 360 degrees.

I got 2 of these for using for our 4H shooting sports, and youth group. I can now adjust the seating height for the kids and lock them in. I was building benches before, and these are way better. Used them for the first time at a long range rimfire shoot. Quick set up, and work great for our older shooters too.

The stable table is a sturdy table. It can moved easily and is set up quickly. Fits my needs for a table that can be moved to shoot from different distances.

I like the table but wish the top was bigger and wish it wasn't so heavy.

Solid portable table!!! The product name says it all. Easy assembly and set up in the field. Really stable and the tabletop is the perfect blend of texture / grip and easy cleaning. I happened to have a duffel bag that the legs, vertical support, and seat fit in so it's easy to pack up and carry. Not exactly light but the assembled weight is a very good thing. So happy with this purchase.

I have converted the table to roll. It now has 4 wheels with wagon steering and can roll across the prairies and farm fields. This table has harvested over a case of ammo on squirrels, and a fun full of P Dogs.

I recently bought this table along with a Lead Sled DFT2 from my local Scheels with the thought of possibly being able to set up and shoot at my local govt. land. Boy was I mistaken! The table seemed to be solid out-of-the-box and I assembled it according to instructions. Everything went together very well. Long story short, went to set-up and right away I noticed that the table supporting my DFT2 had a downward slant on the barrel end. Easy fix I thought....nope. I tightened the swivel knob for the table which raised the barrel end and leveled it out in relation to the bench. Again I was ready to shoot. After I adjusted the new Lead Sled, I was ready to send some lead downrange.....nope. The table now had a side to side tilt back and forth! I struggled to hold the reticle on target. Any shift in weight or movement had the new gear (and my sight picture) acting like a rainbow on target. The swivel knob even a little tight, causes a pivot point on the support tube below which leads to the arc in table movement. The whole point of this purchase was to take my time and accurately test some new reload recipes. The only data I got was that they went "bang". For what it's worth, spend your money on a nice comfy shooting mat and shoot prone.

Bought this table from Cabela's. The pin's that hold the legs on have a spring loaded detent ball that keeps the pin from falling out of the hole. One of the pins was missing the spring and ball. I have sent 3 e-mails to Caldwell requesting a replacement pin, have gotten back 3 automated reply's, but no follow up and no pin. I should not have to waste time going to a hardware store and trying to locate a pin, then spend more money to get it, at the price of this table.

Paid a lot of money for this bench. Packing was sub pair to say the least. Plus had missing parts.

This table is heavy (60+) lbs, but it breaks down into a few manageable parts. I took it out to site in a new rifle. It work great, super solid. Very happy with it.

Great Product, this table was well thought on when it was designed. First, the table is SOLID! Our first use was at about 12,000 feet in the High Country of Colorado. We set up to take uphill shots in rugged terrain. The table set up quick and easily, we were able to level the table using the adjustable leg on the tripod stand. Even on rough and uneven ground, the table leveled with ease creating a firm and stable shooting platform. The table can be set up in a number of configurations, providing a firm and comfortable shooting platform for anyone. Adjustments are a breeze with the pin positioning. Weighing in at 60 pounds, the table is heavy.... with that said, it is exactly what makes it stand head and shoulder above the competition. The weight of the table plays a major role in the stability of the table. Again, the stability and solid construction is far better than any other shooting platform I have used in the past. There are no cheap flimsy parts on this table, and I expect that this table will last a lifetime. If you are in the market for a shooting table, I highly recommend The Stable Table.

This is a rock-solid shooting platform! Is very heavy for us old folks but it does come apart easily. Very smooth rotation with top and seat height adjustment works great. Definitely a quality-built bench. The included cleaning forks are pretty much useless due to the narrow V so I wouldn't trust putting any of my rifles on it for cleaning. Definitely recommend for a backyard shooting platform.

A flimsy card table this is not! Very stout and well made. The only down side to that is weight, but you?re not going to be backpacking this into the field anyway. The only thing it lacks is a carrying bag. I found a White Duck canvas duffel bag on Amazon, size extra large 48x20?, and to my surprise, the entire Caldwell table fits into this bag, table top and all.

It is a Very sturdy table. It worked as it should, The detent ball come out of one of the pins that holds the legs on was the only problem I had.

It's built as tough as the pedestal machine gun mounts I used to use in the Army. I was really impressed when I got it. Assembles quickly, great range of adjustments, sturdy and stable once it's all tightened down. It's heavy, but it needs to be to work the way it does. Seems modular, that Caldwell can come out with alternative table tops and seat options later on. I would purchase items like that to enhance my Stable Table for different roles.

I bought mine about six years ago to replace a table and chair. My old rig, with vertical legs, would constantly sink in the mud and snow. But the STABLE TABLE uses 3 horizontal legs; like an octopus. So it doesn't sink. I position the one, adjustable, leg at my six. Then I use it to make my scope sit parallel to the slope of the field. Then I can sweep the field, back and forth, without ever having to come out of my scope. It's perfect! Also, the table top is synthetic, and the steel parts are painted. So it's impervious to rain and snow. I set it up when we get to the field, and I leave it out, day and night, rain and snow and below zero temps. After years of use, there's no rust. Also, the two forks are perfect for running a wet patch down my bores at the end of the day. If we have a shift in the wind, we need to move to the other side of the field. This thing comes apart in about 30 seconds. Reassembly takes about 3 minutes. This thing is so fast and easy to move, I never have to shoot into a bad wind. This thing is the perfect tool for all-day shooting at tiny targets. It was clearly designed by people who do what I do and know what I need. I could not be more happy. Buy it, you'll love it!

Myself and 3 of my buddies purchased 4 of these tables for prairie dog hunting in Colorado in 2019. They worked out goodfor the hunt. These tables are heavy so if you have carry them in field very far its a task. I wish they were little lighter in weight. We had good shoot.

The Caldwell Stable Table is purpose-built to be the finest value-priced shooting bench in the market. The tripod design is more rigid and has fewer joints than folding-style benches and is appropriate for a wide variety of shooting conditions and disciplines. A bolt in the base allows position adjustment of a single leg, aligning the tabletop so that it is parallel with the horizon. The central shaft, seat, and tabletop pivot around a center axis as a single unit while keeping the tabletop parallel to the horizon. This allows the user to make shots at any angle from a single setup - ideal for varmint hunting. The bench can easily be locked into a single shooting position if desired.
The top is made from molded plastic with a rigid metal under-frame. The top includes holes that function as handles for easy transport or as holders for the included cleaning forks. The seat adjusts from 16" to 22" and rotates in tandem with the tabletop. Convenient cleaning forks are included that snap into position in the top and securely hold a gun for cleaning. The shooting bench breaks down into seven pieces and weighs a total of 60 pounds when assembled.
