Bought led sled 2 built it and the frame is warped 1/8 inch off. Caldwell sent a replacement exact same issue. Caldwell sent a replacement frame again same issue. Caldwell gave up and sent me credit to use on other products.

Product is good gave a 4 star because the shipping and handling was horrible. Never got a confirmation email with the tracking number. They sent out the [your item has been shipped] email several weeks later when I had the product already.

I'll start with this is a nice almost perfect sled but it's not the perfect sled. It is very sturdy and heavy which really doesn't bother me, I like that. I like all of my Caldwell products. What does bother me is the stock / butt end. CALDWELL why is there so much play / slop in that end when we are trying to be as steady as possible? There has to be something you can do to fix this, right? I know I spent a lot of money on this sled and other Caldwell products, and this could use a redesign IMO. Can y'all make it less wide at the back end to SNUGGLY fit the stock/butt of a gun in there or fill it with some more foam or something so the butt end of a gun will fit snuggly? That will be my fix for the almost perfect but not perfect Lead Sled. I will be adding a piece of foam in there to take up the empty space so hopefully my gun will be nice and solid when I set it in there and not bounce back and forth left to right. I'm fixing to buy some bags for this to add some weight while shooting. Like I said I like all my Caldwell products I just think this could be better.

Awesome shooting sled, that has all the variables required to not only make accurate shots, but is extremely easy to make minute adjustments as needed. I highly recommend this shooting sled for the beginner, as well as the more advanced shooter.

Design does not allow rubber rifle rest to be bolted (4 screws) to the elevation support (Figure 7) without extreme effort. Need redesign of clamp bars so 4 screws can be inserted without extensive time & effort. Had to go to YouTube for a video of DFT 2 assembly. Caldwell Customer Support could not provide necessary instructions. Disappointing!

I'm surprised by the quality. It's about time we get back to more metal and less plastic, I'm impressed ! I can see where the instructions could be confusing to some people.

I can say this a great product to buy. I was amazed how the packaging was made in such a careful way. The parts are high end, drill and cut at perfection. I was surprised they even took the time to attach washers and nuts to each bolts. some parts were already preassembled, light weight and design for ar-15 or heavy calliber like the .338, .300 win mag. The downside, you need to be patient and take time to read correctly the instruction and follow them. Don't try to assemble this in a rush, the night before you want to use it.

On page two, the Cam Lever Assembly does not match the parts I received. On page 5, the Skeletonized Front Cradle Assembly: Did the engineer who designed this every installed the M5 screws? I gave up after 30 min of frustration and loosened the Ram Lock. Then I removed the Front Cradle and Elevation System. Turned it upside down which gave me plenty of access to install the M5 screws. The Front Rest is not wide enough to accommodate my rifle. I would recommend an adjustable rest. There is no strap to secure the rifle butt. The front rest strap is too short to secure my rifle. Other than these minor (to some) issues, the construction is top notch

I purchased the Lead Sled DFT 2 and after using it I find that the scope is pushed too far forward because of the thickness of the butt. rest. It is very uncomfortable / difficult to get the in a position to line the scope up correctly. Other that this issue the product is good quality. You should try this product out in the store before you purchase.

Assembly is easy if you follow the instruction precisely. Have sighted in 2 dozen rifles with this sled and it works flawlessly. Smooth adjustments make it easy to dial in the target. This device reduces the number of shots required to site in a scope, saving money and time.

I just received my Caldwell Lead Sled DFT 2 and assembled it according to the instructions provided. The last step of attaching the front rest was difficult and required patience and perseverance. I would recommend that Caldwell puts a hole in the middle of the base on the front rest so the M6 screw can be used to attach the rest last. This would make the installation of the front rest clamp bars much easier.

Purchased last week, came in on Thursday, while assembling I noticed the ram is either milled on the wrong end or is tapped for a bolt on the wrong end. Tried to call Friday but help center is closed until Monday. Called and the associate was nice but not familiar with product. Sent picture of faulty ram and had to call back 6 hours later, he said that he was busy and had not looked at photo yet. He called be back about an hour later and I missed the call. He then sent me an email saying everything looks fine. The end of the ram with the bolt hole in it is not grooved to fit the hole with a key in it on the front cradle assembly base. Very frustrating, if this is not resolved tomorrow I will be returning it and purchasing a different brand.

I just bought the Lead sled dft. Very simple to assemble. Heavy duty and well built. Rifles sit on the adjustable rest to use for sighting in rifles and shooting Prarie dogs. Much more s stable than my previous gun rest.

Bought this mainly to sight scopes in with. Made my own lead weights in 10 pound bags. Some say difficult to assemble and I quickly realized if you raise the front rest all the way up, it is easy to get the bolts in. No brainer! Friend wanted to pattern his duck gun. This made it so easy. I have used it on every imaginable rifle and shot gun and very happy with it.

My brother has one of these that I have used many times, so I bought one for myself for Christmas. I read a previous review about it being difficult to assemble. I had it assembled in 20 minutes with no issues. I guess it depends on your mechanical ability!!!

Purchased several years ago. Nice heavy rest. Easily adjustable. Add weight and reduce recoil. I read the past review, and I had none of those issues. Found it easy to assemble- just follow the instructions. I have the original Lead Sled, and still have it. It does not have the ability to add weight. I feel it is well work the money, and great for young shooters.

Bought this on sale at Cabela's this past weekend. What a waste of time and money. First, the sliding mechanism does not sit level on the two guide rods. Next, you have four screws that need to be screwed in from underneath the rubber barrel rest that you cannot access because the height adjustment wheel is in the way. There are two square metal pieces that need to be placed inside the rubber barrel rest and the screws need to be screwed in from underneath the metal stand that the rubber barrel rest sits on. I tried for about an hour to screw these in and finally gave up. Returning this to Cabela's this weekend. Don't waste your money!
