Caldwell AR500 Steel Magnum Rifle Swinger Target

On the fourth time out to the range, the target hanger broke. This is a pot metal, composite, or plastic part and is the weak point of the whole design. If not for that, I'd give this a five star rating, but now it is useless to me until I can either acquire a replacement part, or fabricate something that will work. Hence, my low rating.

I bought one of these for a good price ($60) and have had very good luck with it. The plastic leg and cross bar supports are the weak point. But so far, the only ?damage? is lead and copper spray from hitting the plate. There are MANY impacts from debris, on those parts. But if those parts were made of steel, it would need to be AR500, and would be very expensive and would eventually become dented or otherwise damaged to the point of disrepair. The existing material is sort of self healing. I have no problem transporting, setting the target up, or using it. I liked it enough to buy a second one when they went on sale again.

First time we used this at 107 yds. the plastic hanger snapped in two on the 1st hit. Steel is good but needs a different hanger. I bought 2 of these and will make new hangers for both.

There is a weak point on the plastic part on where it receives the cross bar. Be very careful when transporting or movng. No problems besides that.
