i purchased 2 of these about 4 months ago for me and my wife the rear support has a piece of form rubber for recoil dampening and both of them have start to deform im just trying to purchase 3 or 4 of these foam inserts because its to much of a pain to take apart and send in for warranty could someone point me in the direction to purchase the foam pcs

I like the sled but you all need to make adjustments when using an AR type rifle. Mag may hit as will the AR pistol grip. Need to add a block under the stock. The gun also sits loosly in the sled so I added straps over the butt stock and over the front hand guard.

I'm not a great rifleman, but I want to get better. I bought the Lead Sled 3 and when it arrived, the main support was visibly not level and that was confirmed a full bubble off when I used my level to confirm. I contacted Caldwell and they sent me a new sled after I returned the first one. The replacement was good to go. I have zeroed my 30.06 using this sled and shot 1/2" groups at 100. I plan to add at least 1 25 lb weight as the sled jumped quite a bit with the recoil of the 30.06. Takes the guesswork out of the zeroing process.

Bought first ever lead sled and thought I would go with the lead sled 3. I've seen better assembly instructions on kids toys. But I was able to trudge thru them and get the most undeveloped rest I have ever seen in my life. Don't believe me check out the pictures I've sent and look at the bubble on my level. That is directly out of the box, never used, and put together exactly how the instructions say to (or lack there of). The front weight tray is completely crooked. Again check out pictures to see how unlevel it is. I'll have to jimmy rig soemthing up at the range to get this piece of junk level. Not returning cause it a hassle to try and fit all this rap back in the box. NICE PRODUCT CALDWELL!!!!!!!

Its very handy to reduce recoil and steady a weapon for sighting in. It would be better if an AR would fit with a magazine. I don't know if a reduced capacity mag would fit. I used two 25lb "CAP" barbell weights and they fit perfect.

It's rated 5 star, nicely built, very sturdy, only reason I give 1 star because I only shoot ar style weapons and they don't work with this, magwell hits bar, causing butt stock to be jacked up, not seating as should be.

Front support is highly frustrating to use, once you are comfortable with your sight and lock in threads the entire front site assembly moves, have tried many different approaches none that i would belive the average shooter would deem acceptable.

Great rest at a great price. Its made well, adjusts easy. I dont see a reason why one would have to ever replace it. My only negative, it is not compatible with my AR. The hand grip hits the metal bar in the middle. So if you dont mess with AR style rifles this is a great product and I would highly recommend this product

I bought this to assist with sighting in my rifles. I am pleased with its performance. It is constructed well and has the ability to adjust elevation of the firearm. I wish the sand bag was included in the box but it isn?t.

After I bought the sled I brought two 25# dumbbells as advertised on the box but two will not fit under the bar.

Very nice rifle bench rest. I did run into 2 issues that I was not happy about. The first issue was that one of the lower front legs (part E) had damaged screw threads but was still usable and was able to be threaded to work. The second issue was the detail description says the sled will hold two 25 lb barbell weights. I had purchased 2 new standard 25lb barbell weights and found that 2 will not fit in the tray. The 2 weights together will sit too high and therefore will not clear the upper rail above the tray. If the rail above the tray was about 2-3mm higher both barbell weights would fit perfectly. I would have given this product 4-5 stars if I didn't have these 2 issues after purchase. It may be possible that say some different brand barbell weights may be slightly thinner in height may work. Mine did not so I only could use one 25lb barbell weight.

I have had the Caldwell Lead Sled for a few years now. I have one lead bag that I use with the rest. The front elevation works well and easy to use going up and down. The tightening mechanism on the front elevation always shifts the point of aim to the right when it is tighten. I was using the lead sled yesterday with my daughter sighting in our deer rifles and found the Lead Sled was not that stable, if you touched the Lead Sled the point of aim would shift. In past years I used the Lead Sled and did not notice the issues I was experiencing yesterday. The tightening screw for the elevation has always been a problem. Maybe it was user error yesterday, maybe using additional lead bags would help. I am interested if the people at Caldwell have some feedback. I have always liked the products that Caldwell produces, they are innovative and you can tell they are design by people that spent time in the field.

Took the Lead Sled to the range today for ladder testing a Winchester 300 Magnum. Loaded the pads with 100 pounds of lead shot and it was rock solid! Almost no movement after firing and only minimal adjustments required to get the scope back on target! Great rest and far superior to my last one.
