The Cubix xpander 4U Rack Mount Elite is a 4U, 19" rackmount PCIe slot expansion solution designed for broadcasters and digital cinema production sets which require plenty of additional power and PCIe slots, while maintaining a small physical footprint and whisper-quiet operations.
Using only one PCIe x16 slot in a host PC or Mac Pro, xpander Elite provides you with six additional full-length, full-height PCIe slots for multiple NVIDIA graphics cards, SDI capture cards from Blackmagic Design, AJA, NVIDIA and others. Add multiple RED Rocket cards, high-performance NVIDIA Quadro Series graphics by PNY by PLUS fiber optic HBAs, RAID controllers, PCIe-based memory cache cards - all of the above using only 1 slot in the host workstation or server!
xpander Elite with PCIe Gen3 x16 connectivity
Cubix has now taken its industry leading, ultra-reliable PCIe slot expansion solution, xpander Rackmount Elite and added PCIe Gen3 x16 bus performance! xpander Rackmount Elite Gen3 provides a maximum bandwidth of 128Gbps and 4x PCIe Gen3 slots (all 16-channel physical & electrical) + 2x PCIe Gen3 8-channel slots, with external PCIe Gen3 x16 connectivity to the host computer. Xpander Rackmount Elite Gen3, with a much fast transfer rate than Xpander Rackmount Elite, is ideal for use in high-res visualization or media and entertainment industry applications where both maximized data transfer speeds and minimal data errors are required.
Cubix bases xpander Elite on its popular xpander product line, but adds integrated remote management, front panel LCD system status read-out and control interface, 1500W power supply and four variable speed, temperature-controlled exhaust fans for cooling even the most demanding PCIe devices. This means one xpander Elite can process up to 12 HD-SDI data streams simultaneously (depending upon application and capture devices used) while operating in near silence within mobile production rack cabinets with its host workstation and 3rd party storage systems.
