It is an okay film, it's potential shortcomings can be worked around. Using an enlarger to print works better

It is a silm that is best to shoot the whole roll without letting it sit as the substrate plastic will "take a set" that can make it difficult to thread onto a steel reel. I gave it only 4 stars because pinhole defects in the emulsion do occur, and the substrate is not entirely transparent muddying some images. It is a film you want to bracket with just in case one of the images has a pinhole defect.

Fomapan 100 sheet film interesting to experiment with

It arrived safely with no exterior damage to either the shipping bag or to the item itself. Upon checking the item for completeness, I did find that there was no data sheet inside or on the outside of the box. This data sheet would have had information about the grain, the spectral sensitivity of the emulsion, as well as some developing information. Though the latteri can be determined via experimentation, it would be easier to have some manufacturers baseline data from which to start and to compare to. Until the above data has been determined this product will be a lot of fun to work with so as to fill in those missing baseline data which is something a lot of photographers enjoy doing.

Nice B/W Film

I've only recently given Foma films a try after reading reviews and seeing some samples. Once I got the scans back I was really impressed with the amount of contrast and the relatively low grain. Definitely will be keeping some rolls of this in my refrigerator.

Predictable good quality, very usable film...

An exceptional choice for both amateur and professional photographers, the FOMAPAN 100 Classic is a versatile and high-quality 35mm black and white negative film. This film is panchromatically sensitized, making it responsive to all colors of the visible spectrum, which is essential for producing a full tonal range in your black and white photography.

The FOMAPAN 100 Classic is renowned for its fine grain, ensuring that your images exhibit low granularity for a smooth and clear aesthetic. Its high resolving power is adept at capturing the finest details, while its impressive contour sharpness brings out the subtle textures and nuances in your subjects. Photographers will appreciate the film's ability to render a wide range of halftones, from the deepest blacks to the brightest whites, allowing for a dynamic range that gives depth and dimension to your photographs.

With a nominal speed rating of ISO 100/21°, the FOMAPAN 100 Classic is ideal for a variety of lighting conditions. Its wide exposure latitude is a standout feature, offering flexibility and forgiveness in exposure settings. The film delivers consistent results even when overexposed by 1 EV (ISO 50/18°) or underexposed by 2 EV (ISO 400/27°), without necessitating any alterations in the development process. This means you can shoot with confidence, knowing that you can adjust your exposure to suit the scene without compromising on image quality.

For those looking to create prints or enlargements, the FOMAPAN 100 Classic pairs beautifully with Fomabrom- and Fomaspeed-type enlarging papers, although it is fully compatible with all varieties of black-and-white enlargement papers. This compatibility ensures that whether you are in the darkroom or using a service, you will achieve outstanding results.

The film is constructed on a robust 0.125 mm thick cellulose triacetate base, which comes in a neutral gray or gray-blue color. This sturdy base material ensures the film's durability and longevity, making it a reliable medium for capturing timeless images.

Whether you are a seasoned professional or a passionate enthusiast, the FOMAPAN 100 Classic 35mm black and white negative film, available in a generous 100' roll, is an excellent film stock that promises to deliver striking and memorable images with every shot.
