Comfortable

I haven't had time to use it a lot yet, but when I have used it, it is more comfortable and easy to use than a neck strap.

BosStrap sliding sling strap is a revelation!

I used to get shoulder/back pain when carrying my super zoom camera with a standard shoulder strap so when I bought a heavier DSLR system I thought I try out a sliding system. I am very pleased I did. The camera sits inconspicuously by your hip. The camera sits quietly while you are walking. The camera can be brought to the eye smoothly and rapidly. The system still works if you are wearing an open jacket over it. Additional attachment leashes for other cameras can be purchased to allow quick exchange between cameras. The BosStrap is simple and has a low profile. Best of all, no shoulder pain

Well made, good value

Bought a cheap imitation previously, ended up throwing it away after a couple of uses as the strap was of poor quality, as was the connection to the tripod mount. The Bos-Strap is very well made, simple to fix to the camera strap mount on the camera leaving the tripod mount free. Good value and therefore highly recommended.

Great flexability

I love that the camera is on slide clasp. The strap around your neck and body does not move when you grab your camera to take a shot. The camera hangs conveniently at your waist, easy to grab.

Great with one problem

I bought this strap because I wanted a sling strap that didn't attach at the tripod screw, that wasn't as bulky as the ones I have with shoulder pads but would still be comfortable and also had a quick release from the strap. The only complaint I have is that the quick release is not quick release since you have to undo the straps that attach to the camera in order to get it off. I ended up replacing the connector with an OP uni loop system connector, and that works great. I bought the strap for my Sony A6000 with 18-200 lens so this camera is not too large and heavy, but I also have a Nikon D7100 and several lenses which will work with it also.

Just Didn't Work for Me

Strap didn't stay on shoulder and rubbed up against my neck. Couldn't get the strap in a comfortable position due to my body type (full figured female). This may have been why the strap rubbed against my neck. Returned product due to fitting issues.

nice design

I hate camera neck straps. For the past year I have been using a Cotton Carrier system to carry two cameras one on chest and one on hip. I love the system but was finding on long event coverage the chest plate was just putting too much pressure on my neck and upper back. I decided to try a sling system and chose the Bosstrap for a couple reasons. Mainly that it connects to the camera strap lug leaving the tripod socket free for my Cotton Carrier hub. Connecting the Bosstrap tail to the camera requires some thought but there are good videos out there to guide you. In use the Bosstrap is comfortable and the camera is reasonably secured, you still have to remember it is hanging there when bending, kneeling, walking through tight spaces and so forth shortening the strap helps. My strap comes on and off as I still use the cotton carrier most of the time. The lock buckle on the Bosstrap seems well made and I prefer the fabric connection system over the typical snap clip. In all it seems pricey but I shot a 5.5 hour event using it and was left standing at the end of the evening. If you are looking for a sling strap I think this is a good product.

So Much Better!

Like many other reviewers, I researched several brands of straps as my "standard" neck strap that came with my camera was not very comfortable. Same story, camera around neck = literal pain in the neck. I could only normally wear it for 10 minutes at a time and then would have to hand hold the camera in between. That would make my hand tired. Black Rapid, Sun Sniper, Custom DSLR, plus several other brands. All had their good points. The one part that I did not like was that they all attached via the tripod socket at the bottom of the camera. My preference was to keep that free so that my RRS L-bracket could remain usable without having to unscrew the attachment out of the socket. Stumbled onto Bosstrap. Liked that they hooked into the "normal" eyelet. I was a little skeptical though about a non-padded strap, but decided to give Bosstrap a try. Am very happy I did. Easy to set up. The seat belt material is stout and allows the metal to glide easily when raising the camera up to shooting position. I do not like the plastic cam-lock / quick release so I attached a small carabiner to go between the strap and the tail. Feels secure and is a much quicker release for me than pulling off the rubber retainer and then releasing the thin plastic cam lever. The cam lever feels like it locks solidly, but it is kind of thin and I fear that repeated use might damage the plastic cam lever. The camera rests against your hip after a little adjusting. Hanging your hand down my your side easily keeps it in a secure position. And, for those of you who might also have been concerned about not having a padded strap, for me, it was not an issue. I shot a charity event with a D600 and 18-200 DX lens for 3 hours. No strain on my shoulder at all. I was pleasantly surprised. The 1 1/2" wide strap really does a good job at distributing the weight of the camera. And I'm not a big guy. Would highly recommend this product. I also got their Bosstrap Tail, the one with the metal ring, for my second body. Works as advertised.

BosStrap Gen 3 Sliding Sling Strap

You can carry your digital camera comfortably over your shoulder using this strap. It's strong and durable so you don't have to worry about it breaking. Also, I like the fact that it connects to the original camera strap connections. I can put my tripod connection on the bottom of the camera and leave it there. This makes everything very convenient. I thought that not having a shoulder pad would be uncomfortable, but I carried my Nikon D7000 with 200mm lens for 9 straight hours and never felt weighed down. Great strap, wish I had found it sooner.

BosStrap engineered a revolutionary sliding sling strap system for your DSLR camera that is like nothing else on the market. The BosStrap Generation 3 Sliding Sling Strap (BosStrap G3) is a twopart sliding sling system which includes a 1½" wide sling strap and the new Patent Pending Generation 3 BosTail (G3 Tail). The G3 Tail can be detached from the sling strap.

A sliding sling strap is more than just a strap worn diagonally across your body to take the camera weight off your neck. Sliding sling straps use a special fitting that moves along the diagonal strap, not requiring the strap itself to move. Your camera is attached to sliding fitting. Because of the sliding fitting, when you bring the camera up from your side, the sling strap does not pull on your shirt.

In use, the camera glides smoothly along the strap up to your eye; when not in use the camera rests comfortably at your hip. Nothing compares to the comfort and convenience that a sliding sling strap provides.

The BosStrap G3 Sliding Sling Strap offers the smoothest action of any sling strap on the market. The 1½ wide nylon sling uses a small, nickel plated sliding fitting for extraordinarily smooth movement. The wide strap evenly distributes the weight of your gear, obviating the need for a shoulder pad while making the BosStrap G3 convenient to use, light weight, strong, and easily stowable.

BosStraps do not use the tripod socket as an attachment point to the camera. The Patent Pending G 3 Tail attaches to the left camera strap lug. The G3 Tail uses a cam buckle with a unique safety sleeve. Together the cam buckle and safety sleeve provide two levels of security. The cam buckle and safety sleeve insure that your camera can not be accidentally detached from the sling strap, but when you want, your camera can easily, intentionally be detached.

To detach the camera from the BosStrap G3 Tail simply slide the safety sleeve off the cam buckle and release the cam locking lever. All the components in the non-metallic, double safety lock G3 Tail remain with the camera. When the camera is removed from the sling strap, only the low-profile G3 Tail remains attached to the camera.

There are no metal parts used in the G3 Tail that could scratch your camera body or the LCD. One sling strap can be used with any camera that has its own G3 Tail. Extra G3 Tails are sold separately.

BosStrap strives to source all parts and labor in the US. Because of special requirements, one part in the G3 system had to be European sourced. Everything else comes from the USA, including the thread used in all BosStrap products.
