I have used this prooduct with Canon 50D, 7D and 5D MII cameras with good results in all cases. The battery for the remote transmitter is a little hard to find but is used with some car remotes and other applications. The product works as advertised and I purchased a 2nd one as I lost the transmitter for the first unit I have had for a couple of years.

Received as a gift and was very excited to use it. The transmitter does not work. I hope it's because of a dead battery; but it uses an odd 12V 23A battery that is not readily accessible. The receiver did not come with batteries but requires to AAA batteries - at least the LED lights on it.

Eliminates the need for a cable release. Allows the camera to be fired from an extended distance of up to 300 feet, unobstructed. Uses RF (radio frequency) signals, not line of sight like infrared.
Designed to fit specific cameras. Transmitter has a two-position switch, press lightly for prefocusing, and then continue pressing to release the shutter.
LED lights indicate prefocus and exosure. May be used on up-to 16 channels, user settable. Also allows the receiver to trigger the camera and thus be used as a "wired" cable release.
