If you want to use your neglected mf Nikon lenses, made the way Nikon used to make them, then this adapter will mate nicely with your NEX-6,7,5n, etc. If this becomes a favorite shooting mode, you may want to upgrade to the $250. German made model--on the other hand this may prove to be durable enough, maybe with slight "play" with the heavier lenses. So far so good with the primes I use. Recommended. Nice adapter! The only thing it needs is a tripod collar but you can usually buy one separate for your lens type. Light weight.

I enjoy the 16mm f2.8 pancake lens that came with the camera but wanted to add a faster prime for street photography. Since I own several Nikkor D lenses I wanted to use them on the camera. This adapter has worked perfectly. The camera is still small enough to carry in a jacket pocket with the adapter and 50mm nikkor lens on it. By increasing the number of lenses available to me, the adapter has given me more creative options for my street photography.

Ordinarily, I use my Sony NEX-5 for street work and candid photography. The 16mm f/2.8 that came with the unit as a kit works just fine, but I needed something that would allow me to shoot more effectively at night. This Adorama adapter, priced at [$] seemed like a good choice for getting my Nikon f/1.8 D lenses attached to my NEX-5. My only real complaint so far is that it doesn't work with the Nikkor G lenses, but in combination with D lenses, it works with no problem. NOTE! Be certain to change your NEX default shooting settings so that the shutter releases without the lens attached. If you do not change this setting you will see an error message that says the lens is not recognized by the camera, and it will not work. Once you adjust to working with manual focusing you will see very impressive results, and possibly even experience a little reluctance to return to auto focus. Very satisfied with this adapter so far!
