The soft touch release is an interesting idea but sticks out of the camera too far and it turns the camera on and off by accidental touching of the side. This is due to the relatively wide diameter and the fact that it is firmly attached to the on/off/release button. It could be designed much better that this particular model.

This item does the job for an inexpensive piece. tho i will eventually invest in a better more durable one. i have rather large hands and my finger does lay in the cradle of the button much better than the small shutter button on the Fuji X10.

I wanted shutter release buttons on my pentax k1000 and canon AE-1. I found this button to be too high on the pentax k1000, but just right on the canon AE-1. since this is a large button, it sits a few mm higher than the threaded mount, which is great for the AE-1 since it is a recessed button. I chose a smaller button for the k1000.

Do you need a 180mm macro lens or will a 60mm do? What's the difference when both can deliver 1:1 magnification?
