Not What I Expected

When I ordered the LCD Screen Protector on line I thought it said it snapped on. When I received it, it has adhesive and sticks onto the camera screen. I didn't want a protector that was permanent; I wanted one that I could take on and off like I have had in the past for other Model Nikon DSLRs.

Improvement

This is much nicer than the plastic cover that comes with the camera and includes a protector for the top LCD. Easy to install and looks good. Price was right and if I ever need another, it will be this one. Highly recommended....

protects LCD screens without peeling off

This is not one of those "made in China" cheap thin films which with use/time the corners start to role/peel off. Its 1mm thick polycarbonate (think credit card).Sturdy as it is, stays flat/stuck protecting both LCD screens. Good adhesive; both pieces have a metallic/black frame which I'm guessing is there for more than just aesthetic reasons. Might have something to do with the rigidness of the slabs. It even comes sandwiched between two thin clear films and a plastic cover! The LCD protector comes protected! If you want a piece of plastic to protect both screens of your D700, that stays on and is clear as glass (they make helmet visors out of this stuff!) get this! Its way cheaper than repairing a scratched/cracked LCD but not as cheap/flimsy as the thin gels/films you see on cell phones etc. You get what you pay for and this one works.

About Matin Heavy Duty LCD Screen Protector, Nikon D700 DSLR

LCD Screen Protector... This hard polycarbonate screen protector is heavy duty when it comes to protecting the all important LCD screen of your digital camera. Polycarbonate material is also used for bulletproof products, yet these are as thin as 1.0mm while preserving the original clear vision of the LCD screen.

The screen is hard coated so that it cannot be easily scratched. There is also a UV coating applied to reduce UV emission from the LCD screen. Some models have two screens (Canon 50D, Nikon D90 and D700), one for the main LCD and one for the status window.

These protective films for LCD are designed and packaged to fit individual cameras, no cutting is necessary.
