Awesome product, great quality the only complaint was lack of communication from the manufacturer as this was a drop shipped item. I placed the order in the beginning of December and didn't receive it till the next year lol January 16,2023. Was charged for it way before it shipped , this is another point as I paid with the Adorama credit card that stated in the terms and conditions that you will not be charged till you item has shipped. Leaving my balance sitting and gathering interest on the account. Once again the product was and is great , dealing with the manufacturer was not.

I am an artist and started out by using a self-healing mat and knife to trim my prints for matting. Knowing I had a high volume order coming, I decided to finally take the plunge and buy a trimmer. I did a lot of research within the price range and finally opted on the Dahle 20". I am so happy with this purchase! I use it to trim down from 13x19 inch paper, which it easily accommodates, and it has yet to disappoint. It can handle high volume cutting and is lightweight enough to move around easily. I would definitely recommend this product.

Solid build, smooth, straight cuts. Not a 'toy' like the ones sold at office supply stores!

The Dahle 20" DAT552 cutter met my expectations for quality and Craftsmanship. The bed, guide bar, and head are medal, with silk screen scales; while the remainder of parts are plastic. I purchased the cutter to cut photographs and 1/8" foam backing. Test cuts of photo paper were made, using different weights from 23 to 207 lb. showed excellent cuts. [Note: this exceeds the spec of 2.0 mm, which is listed only on the unit. They advertise 20 sheets of paper! This is NOT a spec; 20 sheets of what? What weight?] Test cuts of the 1/8" foam backing was tight to insert under the pressure hold-down guide, but examination of the cuts were excellent. Test cuts to determine squareness showed that the cutter at minimum and maximum [20 1/8"] cut is true and square. Test cuts using the rulers also indicated that the DAT552 made cuts as expected with errors <1/64". Additional test cuts were made specifically to look for depressions, which showed NONE. Test cuts were made using 13x19, 69lb, 4X6, 74lb, 8.5X11, 80lb, and 8.5X11, 45lb photo paper. When cutting large paper, the adjustable paper guide must be removed. Cons: Determining the point of Cut, at the gate, is almost impossible, especially on a 13X19 size of photo paper. I had to perform the cut by using the side ruler. Also, when you use the left stop; the material to be cut covers the ruler. The ruler scale only has inch scales on the left & right, not across the top. Across the top is metric scale only, an inch scale would be nice also. No Manual.

I am very pleased with this product. I had been fooling around for too long with inferior products. Cuts are straight and true and it's nice to be able to handle the larger sized prints. The cost is more than reasonable. If you're in the market for a trimmer, I highly recommend you take a look at this one.

This is a great trimmer, very robust and high quailty construction. The only negitive is the instructions are very sparce. They don't explane what the little bar is for.

I saw a recommendation for this paper cutter about a year or so ago on DPReview. I wish I had bought this paper cutter then and not bought those other cheaper, light weight ones that wouldn't hold the paper securely nor cut precise lines or do fine trim work. This one works, and it works right! It's a joy to use.

The Dahle trimmer does a great job of making clean cuts on multiple layers of paper. The automatic presser bar holds the paper in place very well. It is difficult to align the uncut edge of a photo so that it will be cut exactly where you want. Multiple passes with repositioning are the norm for the first cut. It is not possible to cut anything smaller than about 2 inches due to the width of the presser bar--you can't position the paper under it.

Great product just needs Standard american photo markings instead of the metric markings. It would be perfect if it had a adjustable stop on the right side of the cutter for strip cutting
