I upgraded from a Denon 5700.  The AVR-X7200WA is a Great amp!  I would like user control over the bass and treble settings when playing in the Audyssey mode!  I wish though that the user menus were programmed consistently.  Some menus (speaker config) change settings (large vs small) simply by entering, when all you want to do is look!  Also menu items become highlighted and selected as you move around in one menu but in other menus as you move around they are not selected until you select them yourself.  This is very frustrating! Changing various picture settings under the settings menu button seems not to do anything but if you change the same setting under the option button then you see immediate results.  Using the Internet service Pandora will remember your previous password for the next login but if you "sign off" then it forgets it and you must re-enter again.  During speaker calibration there is confusion over what repeat test means and going back.  I am disappointed that there doesn't seem to very good software QA done before releasing!  I do have the latest update, 10/2018.

Would still buy again

Moved over from a Yamaha pre and power and couldn't be happier.

Awesome features on this unit

Having "graduated" to the new 7200 to take advantage of the latest in DSP processing, this new "flagship" lacks the balls of my Denon 5803 that it replaced. Yes, the sound stage is outstanding and the Audyssey XT32 DRC works great but the 7200 goes into self protect mode when trying to deliver reference levels in my 32 X 40 ft. acoustically dead dedicated theater. Granted, I'm driving relatively thirsty Snell XA towers front and wide along with their ICS 24 THX Ultra2 sub and Snell surrounds but the 5803 had ample power to do so and NEVER needed to shut itself down. On-screen displays work only intermittently and firmware updates are nearly impossible despite LAN wiring. Come on Denon, there are a few of us willing to pay the price to get an all-in-one AVR to drive fairly low efficiency speakers without buying separates!

I may be biased but

I just graduated from the Denon AVR-4520ci to the Denon X-7200WA to take advantage of the new Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and upgradable Auro3D codecs. This is the best audio experience I've ever heard, and now the Denon X-7200WA is the heart of my 9.2.2 theater (with a 3 channel external amp to power my front Left, Right & Center channel). If you want to take full advantage of 11 channels, all you need is a two channel exterior amp. Otherwise the Denon X-7200WA will power up to nine channels via its nine powerful onboard amps! I love this AVR!

Outstanding Audio with all the latest codecs!

My new receiver arrived yesterday, and I just finished setting it up: I am very pleased. I was using an Integra DHC-80.6 which I liked, but the Denon is superior in every respect. I wavered over buying it, since it was expensive, but it was definitely worth it. I have tried several different receivers in the last few years (Onkyo, Integra, Pioneer, Marantz) but none of them came close to the -7200 in overall performance and ease of use.
Customer service was also very helpful in answering questions about several Denon products - no other AV product manufacturer is as responsive.

Easy to setup, has all the features needed. Running  a 7.1.4 speaker setup and the sounds is fantastic. Everything connected to this unit and using a Harmony remote, switching to the different sources is easy. From 4K movies to on line music and in built TV apps, nothing's phases it. Connection via the latest HDMI cables ensures no handshaking issues. Hoping now that future features become available for this top of the range piece of kit.

Does everything I need

It was time to upgrade my Onkyo TX NR1007 - I spent days reading reviews in the home cinema mags and on av forums and finally made a decision to go for this Denon AVR 7200WA. I am so glad I did, it is awesome and worth every penny, I was even lucky enough to get money off in the Christmas sales but I would still pay the price it is now back upto. I also treated  myself to some dolby atmos speakers giving me a set up of 7.1.2 the difference is incredible. There is plenty of power to drive all the speakers even when watching a movie via blu ray where there is lots of action, objects really do sound like they are flying around the room and over head. I have had the volume setting no where near its max so there is lots left not sure if the windows will take any more though. Music from my iTunes library over blue tooth is also fantastic especially when using the Pure function which switches to stereo. The dialogue from the centre speaker is crisp and clear. The setup process out of the box was straight forward, it takes you through each stage step by step. After the initial set up you can then fine tune the speakers using the Odyssey set up microphone this also was a doddle. It is a heavy piece of kit nearly 18kg and is well built, it really does feel sturdy and it looks great. The remote feels well made in the hand and an added bonus it lights up when you touch it, so when you are in a dark room you don't have to find a button to make it light up. Denon really do seem to have thought of every thing. When I was doing my research I couldn't find any dealer who could give me a demo of a high end amp so I agonised for ages before deciding to change to a Denon. This was a decision not taken lightly but one well made I am so pleased with my purchase. I would recommend this amp to anyone who is serious about home cinema.

One stop point packing great sound and connectivit

This is my second Denon  I have owned. this one replaced my Denon AVR-4806CI that I have had almost 10 years and still works as good as when I first got it. I have had other brands of receivers but nothing sounds as good as the Denon.

Best receiver I have ever had.

Product is excellent and worth every penny.  If you're serious about this type of equipment then there can't be any better.  Love the features, ease of use, and it has a premium look and feel!
