Clean, smooth, balanced musical tones in a very compact case.

I own several small bluetooth and corded speakers from Bose, Sony, Monster, Milwaukee, TDK, JVC and some no-brand models. This Denon Envaya DSB-250BT has smooth sound output throughout its dynamic range and, for its size, puts out good, loud, clear music. I compare it to a Sony SRS XB30 in size and output with a few clear distinctions. The Sony SRS XB40 is more of a comparable speaker in terms of sound output. The Sony XB40 is better at producing bass heavy music loudly. But, in order for the XB40 to keep up with the Envaya on mids/vocals and highs, the equalizer app must be adjusted up a few ticks in both treble and midrange. The Envaya holds its own in both clarity and clean bass reproduction and only lags in midrange against the Bose Soundlink 3, which projects more midrange and slightly more resonant deep bass. The musicality of the Denon Envaya shines with instrumental music and the quality of the music is clearly superior when compared side-by-side even against the [corded] Bose SoundDock--which is my reference small speaker for overall volume output and sound pressure at a given input level (it seems to have better amplification/sound processing than most other speakers of its size to prevent distortion). The envaya just gives instruments a more natural sound which isn't as "flat" as the sound from the Bose. Listening through the Envaya, each tone seems as though each performer is in front of you and each sound is more realistic and natural and balanced. Sound is a personal thing and for me, personally, I prefer to listen to this Denon Envaya over all Bose, Sony and no-name speakers I have. Other than a {very-slight} background buzz/static, which can really only be detected at very low volume levels, this is my new go-to personal-listening speaker. Thank you for reading and happy listening!

Premium Portable Bluetooth Speaker
Denon Envaya is the perfect utilitarian speaker. Whether you want a soundtrack to your cooking, to fill your front room with music or pack a speaker in your bag and enjoy your tunes on the move, Envaya does it all. The IP67 dust and waterproof rating means there is nowhere that you can't take Envaya. From the washing up bowl to the pool it is ready when you are. Tuned by Denon's class leading audio engineers, each speaker has been painstakingly crafted to achieve an unmatched musical performance.

Implementing innovative digital sound processing techniques, powerful amplifiers and high-quality speaker chassis, the range is capable of creating an immersive soundscape that easily annunciates the subtlest of high notes, whilst simultaneously having the ability to deliver deep bass tones with complete control and clarity. Simple connectivity and Siri activation allows you complete, hassle free control, from your smartphone.

Superior Sound
Extraordinary sound quality is further improved due to the inclusion of advanced audio processing technology, bigger size drivers and more powerful amplifier modules. The sound produced is above and beyond anything that conventional compact speaker systems deliver, thanks to 'oversized' proprietary drivers paired with a large passive bass radiator that fit neatly into this speaker's compact design. Performance is finely tuned with a range of advanced, on board, patented signal-processing technologies that 'intelligently' provide the best possible sound performance from any connected source. The audio tuning is done by our audio experts taking care of the Denon sound philosophy.

Waterproof and durable
Denon Envaya is Water and Dust Proof. The official rating is called IP67, which means that the Envaya Pocket can stand in 1m of water for 30 minutes without damage. To achieve this all connectors are covered by a cap, gaps are closed by gaskets and chassis are water resistant which means altogether no water can enter the unit for a certain period.

Bluetooth aptX
The Envaya features the high quality Bluetooth aptX Low Latency standard offering CD-like audio streaming over Bluetooth, minimizing latency and 'lipsync' issues when supported by the streaming device.

Bluetooth Pairing
Out of the box and powered on for the first time, the unit will directly enter the pairing mode. Simply open the Bluetooth setup on your smart device and confirm the Envaya pairing. If at a later stage, you want to pair another unit just press the Bluetooth button on the unit for a second and you are ready to play. Pressing and holding the button for 5 seconds will enable the stereo pairing mode.

Envaya Link
Looking for more power or just want to have a real stereo setup? No problem. Just pair two of the Envaya's to play together as a stereo set. One speaker will take over the left channel, the other the right.

Making Phone Calls and talking to 'Siri'
The built-in microphone makes hand free calls an easy task. Once connected by Bluetooth to your smartphone you are ready for that. In addition, you can also talk to your personal assistant "Siri" on an iPhone. Just press and hold the phone button on the Envaya and Siri will activate.
