Good sound but flawed
The sound quality on this speaker is great, but the design is not good. The on/off button is more difficult to use than most other speakers. My speaker has now died after a few years of use.

Lacking the denon sound quality
It's OK. I was really expecting more of the Denon sound that I am used to with all of my other products I own.

I have been happy with every Denon product (receivers, cd players, and cassette players) I have purchased over the years. That is why when I was searching for a small Bluetooth speaker, I did not hesitate to purchase one made by Denon. Initially, I purchased one speaker. A year later, I bought a second speaker and I now enjoy great stereo sound from the two compact speakers.

Love the Speaker, Died too soon
Bought one of these over a year ago and it stopped working. I loved it for the sound quality for such a small speaker. I had to go with another competitor as I can?t depend on another one going dead in a year. I?m so sad.

Great, but only lasts two years
Great sound but started bugging after one year (still connected but no playback), then completely died after two years. A shame.

Great sound at a great price! Small form factor that delivers a big sound. It?s like DENON engineers utilized sound bar audio components and a 10 hour battery for quality audio on the go or at home. I use mine in the morning with coffee when my main DENON system in the living room works best when watching movies or listening to streaming audio at a higher volume. These can be paired with Bluetooth to run as separate left and right wireless speakers. Genniud!

Nice sound in a small package
Great clarity of sound and spacial presence, small package, lacking on the base side as do all small speakers of this size. Is easy to carry around. Lanyard leaves a bit to be desired; basically a loose woven shoe lace that gets pricked easily, but not a deal breaker. Being a small package limits its room filling capabilities. High volume will lose some of the base that is there in the mid to 80% range. Best suited for small rooms such as bathrooms, or headroom, or tents, etc, not large rooms.

A tiny speak that can pack a punch!
This tiny speak packs a punch! Great bass and amazing volume. I've been looking for a small portable bluetooth speaker that I can easily carry for trips with my kids and easily place around the house. If you are an audiophile like myself and expect this speaker to sound like a standard bookcase dual speaker setup think otherwise but if want something that's convenient then definitely purchase.

Alt use: PC speakers
My review may be skewed because I am using this as a PC speaker. The small profile was what attracted me. I am blown away by the performance FOR ITS SIZE. As a former orchestra player I don?t require audiophile equipments to let my imagination run wild, but my ear gets aggravated when bass, mid and treble are fused- which is a common phenomenon for speakers of this size. Hard to find a small speaker that does not make classical music sound like a series of urgent farts.
For such a small speaker Denon has made it possible to distinguish individual instruments in an orchestral piece, which is usually impossible for speaker of this size. I can imagine people having audiophile expectations of this tiny bluetooth speaker just because it is from Denon.
Let me make this perfectly clear: if you can find a bluetooth speaker that has deeper bass and clearer treble without mumbling mids for the same SIZE as this speaker, you are in bleeding edge audio territory, and it probably set you back several hundreds, but I got this under a hundred. FYI this ?defeats? Bose Soundlink mini II in every audible way. So if you are tempted to compare this with your Denon bookshelf speakers, you got to stop comparing peaches with oranges. This is great for tight spaces for hearing distance under 3 feet, and probably the only solution if you have good ears but want something small and budget friendly.
Will also spell it out that I did not use this for its intended purpose which is to use it as a portable speaker. Battery issue? Never tested it. Blutooth issues? No, am using AUX in, with a $20 aux cable to my PC amp. It is permanent fixture for my desktop PC. Highly recommended for this specific purpose. FYI the charging port is not shielded so it will cause buzzing sound while charging through USB. This is the only qualm I have, but I am rating this review based on sound quality for its size, since that is the purpose of my purchase.

This speaker rocks!!
Works exactly as advertised Low latency and aptX, great for use with my TV. Great sound quality too. Better than Sonos Roam, which was my previous device.

Only worked for about 3 months
I bought two units so I could experience stereo sound. The first one I bought stopped working because I couldn't turn it on. In addition, I had a hard time syncing up the Bluetooth with both speakers. Sometimes, it would take 10 minutes or more to make the units both sync up. It was almost a relief when the first unit stopped working so I wouldn't have to deal with the problem again. The sound was good for the size.

Used as a speaker in a semi-truck.
The radio in the semi-truck I drive wouldn't accept bluetooth and the company wouldn't put a new radio in it, and a headset would give me a headache in short order. I wanted to listen to podcasts off of my phone. This Denon speaker is very clear, but it isn't very loud. Even with the volume on the phone and the speaker all the way up, studio voices were juuuust loud enough. Anyone calling into a particular show were rarely loud enough to hear easily over the noise of the semi-truck. One star off for that. Another star off for the ridiculously short charging cable. If you find yourself in a similar situation as me, I think the next largest Denon model with more power should work fine.

Great Design
First the buy this small speaker. This one great design and easy the setup and connect. sound quality not much bass and not too loud. good for computer, bed room, living room and indoor. price is reasonable and recommend to buy.

Great audio and efficiency in a serious package
I *love* this little Envaya. The sound is remarkable and the blue-tooth capabilities are exceptional. I use it in my office that's powered by two 100W solar panels and charge the little device with a DC connection and fewer watts than a cell phone! Working on my laptop is a delight and if I want to listen to local news I simply use the app on my phone and the Envaya immediately turns it's attention to that blue-tooth signal. Totally wireless, this clutter-free device is a 21st century workhorse. The only issue I can think of is very slight latency when streaming a movie (really very minor). When it requires charging I simply plug it in and continue working. If you are seeking an energy efficient media solution -- look no further. I think of all the money I've wasted on slick overpriced speakers that required so much AC and cluttered the workspace with wires and boxes... This Denon speaker is a serious chunk of technology that provides quality audio without spewing carbon into the atmosphere!

Good product. I have 2 now?
Seems to be good for it?s size. This is my second one. The first one either I or the unit had issues with the on/off button.
Out of the blue after sitting for 3 months I tried it one last time and it worked? Had been working ever since. I use it at work in my office and the other at home. Great sound in a compact package?

Good speaker, but short life
The speaker was really nice when I first got it. It has very clear and full sound, though it projects it forward rather than all around, which is really just preference not worse at all. Also it could get pretty loud, not crazy but plenty for most purposes. I had it for maybe five months and then it just stopped working altogether out of the blue. It doesn't charge or turn on. The last wireless speaker I had was the Jawbone BJB and that thing lasted me like 8 years or something, I'm honestly very disappointed to find out this has such a short life.

Does a nice job
Decent little speaker, does what it's supposed to do. Provides pleasant sound that's great for a bathroom or bedroom.
Don't expect it to deliver a high fidelity experience with deep bass and crystalline highs, but you can expect to enjoy your music with decently room-filling sound. And the small size and reasonable price are great.

The low latency allows us to watch TV on an iPad without losing synch with the video. Other speakers have this problem - this one does not.
