I really had a lot of expectations with this product, coming from buying the Choice Leather pads and disliking them because they were sticky and pulled the skin on my ears. I can say it covered most of the things I wanted them to be, but came with some unexpected advantages and disadvantages, for my taste. First off, it is soft, mushy, THICK, and comfortable as you would expect it to be. Some things that surprised me are that it also helps a lot with headphone clamping stability, as it's thicker than the default pads (when you think about it it makes much more sense). It also supresses more sound than the default and I liked that when you adjust your headphones and move the pad it doesn't make a weird sound as the Choice Leather did. Now, something that I expected better from this pads is temperature. I thought that this pad would be cooler since its made out some kind of fiber, I'm not sure what I was thinking. It's not like it's hell but it's certainly a little warmer than a default pad. If you live in a cold environment you might not feel this or it could actually be a great thing thought. Another detail is I find a little annoying that youu can feel a distinction between the "skin" of the pad and the memory foam, so sometimes if you want to adjust your headphones and you grab it from the pad itself it slides the skin of the pad from the foam so you don't get a good grip of the pad, and it just feels weird, like if the skin of the pad is a little oversized, like a sweater. Lastly, it does merge a bit the frequencies on the lower end; it's hard to explain, but you get the feeling that the sounds are not as clear and distinctable as before, so consider getting a physical or digital EQ to adjust this to your taste. Overall it's still a great product and it feels better. It's certainly not gonna hurt your ears anymore, its just SO SOFT and THICK. It also looks good.

I had this product before and it's an improvement over the alcantara one that came with the Shures, in some ways. Returned this item only because I had mistakenly thought it had been discontinued, and had ordered a competitor's Brainwavz pads

These replacement ear pads are of very high quality. The seams are stitched, not glued. They were easy to install and make the headphones comfortable again.

I’ve had these headphones for Over 10 years and I don’t know why I didn’t do this sooner. This is one of the best upgrades that I can possibly recommend for this pair of Fostex. The comfort and sound upgrade is tremendous. Paired with the replacement cable, most anyone would be happy with the effect. However, I am most excited about getting honest monitoring from these headphones with so much less fatigue. These pads are still new to me but they are built very well and fit beautifully on these headphones.
