My DM60s are the front LR of my complete Def Tech system Dolby Atmos system. The lifelike sound is amazing for movies and music. My CD and vintage vinyl collection sounds better than ever.

I have a pair of DM40 bought from the bestby in 2021 and still sound quality is amazing. This is going to be my rear pair in the future. I'm still learning this new one.

I have had my speakers for a year now but first let me start by saying I love movies and music. So I love hear all the special sound effects in both, foot steps, little noises in the back ground etc etc.. So if you are like me, you will find these speakers really deliver big time! They deliver a live band sound experience to the moment. I have sound systems on every TV in my house, living room Bose, bedroom Harmon Kardon. So when it came to my movie room where I was going to be entertaining, plus its my pride and joy. I had to get what I been wanting for a while now and the performance exceeded my expectations. The sound is really crisp and clear, never had any distortion. You don't buy these speakers unless want high end sound, get the best AVR and projector you can afford. Then enjoy having the time of your life!

My first pair of home theater speakers were the Definitive BP8's with a C1 center some 26 years ago. Their open and engaging sound drew me in at a store demo, and they gave me years of happy listening. Since then I have had mainly Definitive offerings-direct radiating like the DefTech Mythos, and more recently the Demands which are also amazing. With the re-imagining of the bipolar line, it was time to come full circle. Suffice to say these are so far above and beyond my old BP8's it's not even any kind of contest. If you love movies, and the feeling that you are in them, you will get absolutely drawn in with these speakers. The sound stage is huge, but not forward or fatiguing. The midrange vocal clarity and character are clear and natural, and make me want to listen to more and different music just to see how it will present, which for me is when I know i'm having fun with my gear. As for the bass, well, it is seriously awesome. It is musical, clean, and feels effortless and free of any discernible distortion. It is powerful enough that in my apartment living I do not need an external subwoofer. Seriously, these onboard subs are amazing, when watching Guardians of the Galaxy 2 with the sub at 8 out of 31 clicks on the sub dial, my large living room space was filled with deep powerful bass during space ship fight scenes. And the new internal crossover does an amazing job of blending the bass with the midrange and high notes, everything is just presented so well it's just incredible. I could go on but in short these DM60's make movies come alive, and make music 3 dimensional and engaging. While I do wish I could remove the sock to see the drivers, it is a very clean look, and I'm especially fond of the new wrap around metal detail with the D in the center-I think this was a very classy touch and great design decision. My wife is a retired fashion designer, and she really likes the clean look of these speakers. I highly recommend these speakers, and the DM30 center is mind blowing, if you can swing it too it deserves a serious look. For reference I am using a Marantz SR5015 with Emotive amps to all 7 Definitive speakers, DM60's, DM30 center, BP9080 surrounds as well as a pair of Demand D15 surrounds. Thank you Definitive for making these, I absolutely love them!

I bought these and only had them a few months back to upgrade from my aging mythos towers. Wow what a mistake. Discover that i have a bad amp in one of the towers. I have no idea how this could happen as i use a panamax power conditioner. Go to see about a replacement and come to find out they have none and can not give me a answer as to when i will have one sent to me! Oh and i also have to install this myself! Good thing i am tech savvy. Called customer support with no avail. They give me no option to send me a replacement speaker. So long story short I will not buy from them again! I am stuck with a brand new broken 1000 dollar speaker with no eta as to when i can get it back up and running. Will be buying another brand from now on!

I purchased two of these two weeks ago. I got home and installed them powering them off my denon avr3500h. They sounded great, however one of the speakers sub would turn on after 10 minutes. If I unplugged the speaker and plugged it back in the sub would be on for 10 minutes and then shut off. I assumed this was a signal detection issue, so attached the working speaker to the channel the the non working speaker was fed from, the speaker had no issues staying on. I tried adjusting the bass knob on the non working one hoping it was a sensitivity issue, replaced the wire, and even tried to attach the amp rca input to the LFE out put on my amp, no luck. I emailed the tech support the above info and they responded 3 days later asking if I checked the wire to the speaker. As I explained the tests I did in my initial email I returned the speaker to the store for another. The next speaker I got had a blown mid speaker giving off a crackle or buzz at transients, so, i went through the same tests as with the previous one and still had the issue; i took that one back. The third one I got worked. I emailed definitive letting them know I was surprised and disappointed that I went through two speaker before getting a working one and asked if it was a issue with the manufacturing run, a week later still no response. So good sound but very poor manufacturer support, and, questionable quality control at their factory.
