If it possessed double the RAM in the box (measly 4GB slows things considerably, then the 3185 dual-mode notebook would be amazing. The touchscreen is accurate and reasonably bright. Battery life is decent, and the 500GB hard drive is a good size for the price. Besides the RAM, I have only one complaint with this design: the unfortunate placement of the power button. Located on the right side of the keyboard, it is so far forward (3.4-inch from the front edge) that it's easy to attempt to lift or reposition the notebook and accidentally shut it off. I've had this Inspiron for two weeks and I have been forced to wait for it to come back up a couple dozen times. The processor is a good one, an A9-9240e composite CPU/GPU, and the embedded R5 graphics can handle light gaming.

My wife wanted a nice little red computer. It is nice and cute, but it is a bit slow to respond (keyboard and web surfing. I have a larger Dell that is not like this. But the main thing is the lack of a cooling fan. It does get pretty warm, and that is not going to be a long term thing for us to endure. It is going back to the merchant who shipped it to us.

A nice 11.6" notebook well suited for business travel. Particularly useful for those who need the full functionality of a PC but also the convenience of a tablet.

Great value for money, I use mine for Uni and so far its been up to the task. Battery life could be improved and I did upgrade to 8gb of ram straight away. But for the price, it does everything it needs to.

The laptop is very adaptable and easy to use but is a little slow. It is fine for my use and I can live with the speed.

This has the features I want, is compact without being too compact, and I love the convertible screen. Negatives: 1 Power button is awkward and far too easy to press by accident, especially when opening or closing the screen past 180°. It was a mistake to put the button on the edge of the base like it is. 2) The lack of an LED indicating power is on is INSANE.

I bought this about 1 yr ago in it early beginnings the laptop was doing fine towards the end it ran slow. This Laptop I would recommend if your are a person who does lots of work or heavy loads because it will freeze on you and if it just for videos i would say its ok

There are many positive things ablut this little marvel. I have two other top of the line computers, which are extremely complex, used for business, and cumbersome to travel with . I needed a small SIMPLE computer for personal use that I could pop along with me at other times this fit the bill. Its what you could expect for a low end computer, no bells and whistles, screen must be viewed directly or there is loss of clarity, VERY slow, and freezes and crashes more than I like. I realize this is a low end model, but a lighted keyboard would have been a nice touch. All that being said, I am very happy with the purchase of my little red companion. It is a fine Dell product, affordable, light, well designed, gets me email (even Netflix . What more can I say

First of all, it gets way too hot. I like to use a laptop on my lap, but after 5-10 mins. or so, it's burning hot. I have to carry a cooling pad, which defeats the purpose of a travel computer. It has also cut out to a black screen several times for no reason. And I'm not sure if this is connected with the Dell or not, but Word keeps cutting out every few minutes. The cursor freezes, it says Word is not available, then the doc disappears for several seconds. Later it reappears as an autosaved doc usually several seconds later. But it means retyping things I'd already typed. I had this same model before

in about an hour of using the laptop if you touch the laptops bottom your hand will either hurt of the heat or burn you hand a little (or a lot) and from time to time the noises sound for a split second a little corrupted

This PC brand new out of the box is too hot on the bottom after being powered up for 15 minutes. There's no visible ventilation, or fan to help with that. And it's slow navigating through non internet pages

I have this in red w/ mouse and sleeve. Both are accessories I would recommend for this product. Display: Good brightness and color spectrum. Only minor issues with glare, and basically no issues with viewing angle when on my lap. Looks better than a lot of laptops that are 1368 resolutions. Touch screen is ok with finger but could be a little more responsive. Build: Love the size and weight! Love the red color especially with matching accessories. Body of computer is very sturdy but screen bends easily. Keys feel is shallow but crisp. No fans or vents, but heat has not been an issue because this laptop only handles light functionality. Performance: This is a sub $200 laptop so please keep that in mind when reviewing or reading reviews! Battery life seems average. I was able to stream One Punch Man on Hulu with no issues. I can have a few web pages open with no issues. I can play OSRS without lag. Anything more than that is probably not an intended function anyway. Does not multi task well. Performance is almost top notch for the price, but the 32gb memory (that I knew what I was getting when I bought it is basically full just from running windows. Verdict: This laptop makes a good netbook or streaming laptop. If you need a lightweight computer that is cost effective, you will not regret picking one up. Not recommended for school, work, or shared home laptop due to HD space. 4 of 5 stars because 32gb is silly and even a 64gb HD would give you a huge step up in performance and realistically not cost more! PS. W/ these specs and price, would make a great laptop for a light version of linux

I don't know why but it's not even seeing my hotspot for my cell, which is the whole reason I bought this instead another full sized laptop... so I can take it to my college courses!

I can hardly do anything, it takes about a minute to load a new tab and forget it if you are trying to game. Its battery is trash and failed in about a month. It is way to slow to do anything on unless you want to spend a whole day on it.

I am sorry, but; this laptop is a great disappointment. The touchpad seems numb, navigating is slow to say the least. I don't always get to where I want and teaching a paralytic senior citizen how to use a computer for the first time is very stressful for both of us. This laptop did not make it any easier. I do not recommend this to others.

Works Great After Upgrading Memory
By WYLEY
I needed a small mobile laptop that was easy to carry, and could be used for presentations and collaborative work. The Inspiron 11 fit all of my requirements - that is, until I went online to websites like Facebook and others that are heavily populated by ads and links that take you off-site to someone else's video presentation. The original 4GB ram on the 3168 could not keep up, and would freeze or completely stall out. Upgrading to 8GB fixed that problem like magic! Then the slow 500GB hard...

A big improvement for pros, still a netbook for consumers.

I'm not going to take much space talking about anything but the APU. Besides that, this is basically the same 11" 2-in-1 Dell has been releasing for the past 2 years. Same decent 1366x768 touch screen, same quality webcam, keyboard, ports etc. What makes this significant for anyone who wants to do direct computing on the go, is the approach Dell took to the AMD APU. Instead of going with an E2 with 2 CPU cores and 2 GPU cores to stay within 6W, they took an A9 9420 and limited it down from 1...
