Dell Inspiron 13 5000 series(5379 is a just like any other laptop. But its good, affordable, comfy keyboard and comfortably fits into my backpack. I'm a student. But on the other hand, its dim, battery life is too short. I have too carry my charger everywhere I go with my laptop. The Screen is dim, the laptop gets heated up very quickly. The audio is also messed up too. I think the yoga and zenbook is better than this. If you want to play games you can't, if you want to connect a USB type-C you can't. You Can't even insert a CD-ROM in it.This Laptop is affordable and perfect for home. But if you are on the go you might want to look elsewhere.

I'm literally so annoyed with how your displays work. I cant get anything to transfer over onto my bigger screen and its not intuitive at all.

seems to be a good build and good battery life for the size of the machine. speed and integration seems amazing.

I bought this machine for work, and every day Dell asks for a review, so here it is. It works fine, you would have heard from me if it didn't. Let me work and stop sending me pop-ups!

I also have laptops that are HP Pavilion "15.6" and run with equal processing power. I am using a modified 2009 computer. I believed that your computer was the most powerful. But ,the processing power of this laptop was inferior to the 2nd generation cpu (i7. It is very disappointing.

Have used a different (pricier) tablet style computer for the past 7 years. Returned to Dell to keep costs down for the nonprofit I direct. Mid-range price delivers better than expected outcome. Laptop is used to access small programs with all storage outside of computer, so I think it will stay quick. Screen is beautiful and responsive in tablet mode, which I didn't expect. Some trouble with Windows 10, too soon to critique.

I did not target for a 2-in-1 device initially, I just wanted a laptop. My system has an i5-8250U, 8GB RAM and SSD. I run development tasks (eclipse, gcc, ghdl, Electronic CAD and it works very smoothly. Battery life is very good (>4 hours)

For some reason, everything has to be resized from miniscule to 150% in order to be a visible size. This makes everything distorted, in the way resizing always does. I also can't stand how you can't remove Cortana without disabling the Search Inside This Computer function already, If I was looking for something that's on the internet, I'd use a web browser: I use the search function to search for things which are inside my computer.

Battery life easy to drain even lowering down the settings to make the most of it while only surfing the internet without playing videos or musi

last system, the 13 inch i7 2-in-1 computer was a joy to use. Lightweight and small, yet powerful to run some of the most demanding apps flawlessly. I loved it although I cannot speak on the different modes as I only used the standard style and tested the tablet maybe three times. Then after a year the problems began and the heat caused a series of incidents that led to the inevitable trip back to Del. FOUR times later they tell me it cannot be fixed as the part they feel needs replacing was out of stock indefinitely and an estimated ate of arrival was unknown. So, I was strong armed into taking the 5379, which on the outside is identical, although on the inside is double the memory, storage and has the latest 8th gen, processor. Yet, it feels cheaper and not a drop faster than its predecessor. I have not had it more than two weeks and it already has begun to retain a strong heat which I know only leads to more severe problems. I am not hopeful nor optimistic and can tell you with confidence this will be my last Dell.

Reliable and fast. It's the most awesome laptop that I ever have and the quality is more than what I expected from its price.

So far it has performed well for needed tasks, but the Dell system update app will list multiple available updates and only will update one or two per session then the rest disappear. Makes system maintenance a pain.

I am thoroughly enjoying the Inspiron 5379, but I wanted to upgrade my SSD to 500 from the 246 gb. Unfortunately the Dell 256 gb hard drive is encrypted by Dell with bitlocker so it's not easy to clone the drive. Since bitlocker is not a part of Windows 10 Home, I can't unlock the drive, so I have not been able to clone the drive. I think the encryption should be optional and there should be a way to remove it.

Performs decently, nice finish and good looks. Beware, this particular build does not have a digitizer, so Dell Active Pen is unusable. Also, you can only download video drivers for the onboard UHD 620 via Dell Homepage. Unfortunately, the driver there is not updated since feb 2018 (I am writing this in march 2019. Hopefully my disappointment will end there (I am only having it for one week).

I have had the laptop for about a week and so far has performed well. This is a replacement for a failed ultra book, this has a similar but updated specification to my previous computer. It cost almost half the price of my old ultra book and has turned out to be far more powerful so I am very pleased with it.

We want you to love your new PC for years to come. That's why we test Inspiron laptops for reliability not just in the places where you expect it, but for the open road ahead.
Turn up the heat: From locker rooms to locked cars, we test Inspiron laptops for survival in harsh short-term heat conditions of up to 65 Degree C/149 Degree F.
Everything hinges on it: We test Inspiron laptop hinges to ensure they still feel tight, even after opening and closing the lid 20,000 times.
Keys to success: We test commonly used keys for 10 million keystrokes and touch pad buttons 1 million times with no failure. So go ahead, finish your novel.
Buttoned up: No matter what you set your power and multimedia buttons to do, we've tested them all to survive up to 40,000 pushes with no problems.
Twist and turn: Call us excessive, but after twisting an Inspiron laptop's base and lid more than 25,000 times, we can assure you the parts inside are well protected.
Always a good fit: You'll probably never need to remove and reinstall your Inspiron's battery 30 times, but you can rest easy knowing that we've tested even that.
