Shopper : How to scan?GARY C : Purch this machine from Adorama, when cked with Dell on this they told me it had previously been purchased and had a limited warranty (time was short) left....when call Adorama back about it could not get a call back about what was up with this machine....fortunately it is still running with no problems so far, hoping will not have no need to the warranty. Hope speaks to the quality of the equipment as it does nothing for the integrity of the seller.LAY S : There are a couple of ways to scan documents. You can use the touch screen and pick the option you want ie scan to email, scan to pc, scan to network, etc and go through the steps or you can use the software that's included with the printer and do the same. It's quite simple to use. If you need a step by step instructions, you can refer to the software disc that comes with the printer. It has the user manual attached when you install the software. Also, I'm sure you can google the manual online since it doesn't come with a hard copy user manual. Hopefully this answers your question.BRAD S : I assume you mean from a computer. Don't know what your operating system is, but with Windows 7, select Devices and Printers after clicking on the Start menu (or access it from the Control Panel), then right-click on the Dell 2665dnf Color MFP device and select Start scan. Can also run Windows Fax and Scan from All Programs on Start menu. When you do a New Scan, select the Dell-C2665dnf scan device with a description of WSD Scan Device. This application doesn't seem to always work, but the method in the first paragraph always does.ROBERT Z : At first I could not get the Printer to send to PC. I like being able to scan from a printer to the PC for large jobs. You have to set up printer address book, create a shortcut, etc. so that you can scan from the Dell C2665dnf. I could not or was just missing something. Others on the forums have done so using different ways. So I called Dell Customer Support. Dell CS could not set up the C2665dnf to scan from the printer using SMB and a shared folder on my PC. The printer sees the PC, user and even folder. So DELL gave me the software application Paperport 14 which they thought I had received with my printer. When loaded, Paperport allowed me to scan from the PC and has many other features and options than the 'scan from printer' option on the Dell C2665dnf interface. You place the document(s) on the glass or in the feeder, click scan, select scan from glass or feeder and whether this is a double sided documents, other settings. scan. file then appears for preview, but is saved in a location of your choice. We are very happy with the performance of the Dell D2665dnf, but the scanning option or lack of scanning initially was almost a deal breaker. Call Dell. It is not difficult but calling Dell and having them walk you through the process is best because it depends how you have the printer connected...USB, wireless or network.
