The cost is high for charcoal and tree resin. Print quality is poor when there is around 25% life left. I also wish they offer cash back on recycle cartridges. I have been trashing my or giving it away.

Have had this printer for over three years. Have had no issues with any of the toner cartrideges purchased in the past. Purchased the Printer to use in home business. Multifunction capability was main concern. The printer hardware has performed very well. However, using all of the features over the network has been tedious. Drivers and applications cause issues with in the OS on the PC and are not fully reliable. Dell has not addressed the short comings in their driver and support applications. OS's I have used are all Windows (XP, VISTA, and WIN 7. Looking to replace within the next 12 months.

Cartridge for 1815 printer running out when display still says it should be at 62%. We are an insurance office and primarily print letters and forms, very little graphics of any kind.

We have an 1815 in my busy medical office in addition to 5 other Dell printers. I buy lots of toner, usually in 3 packs and save alot of money compared to the old fax machine and leased copier. However, I find the 90$ brand new toners for this machine are hit/miss. We get one that works great, then we get one that barely gets to less than 80% capacity before it just fails to print and needs to be replaced. I do not have time to waste calling Dell to get money back etc. I bought the machine since it is cheap enough to throw away rather than repair. I would not buy more of these due to the toner issue. BTW, these Dell MFC take 1 minute to warm up to fax/scan and that can be frustrating!

I have an issue with the performance of the Dell Laser Cartridges. I never get the full use of one before the toner runs out. I feel it is over priced for what I get.

This is a very good copier for a church our size. The toner is extremely easy to remove. My orders are always very timely.

I have used this printer for a little over a year. Have had no problem with toner. Easy to install and good quality, even when display shows 10% toner left, it prints satisfactory. Very satisfied. Price is a little high, but much better than the small individual cartridges.

This an excellent toner product. It really does last at least 5,000 copies. The only downfall is it is a bit pricy.

I bought the high-yield cartridge expecting to print more sheets than the standard cartridge included with my 1815dn printer. However, the cartridge started to fail after printing significantly fewer sheets than the smaller cartridge. The cartridge prints white streaks across the page, which is unacceptable. I tried every published remedy i.e. shaking, cleaning etc. with no luck. This was disappointing to say the least.

Not sure how much of a value the high yield cartridge offers over other options.

Still better deal per page than the 3K page cartridge, but not as good a deal as expected.

I have heard similar complaints from others re: same product. Wouldn't it be nice if Dell would step up and make this product meet the high standards it has on most of their other products!

Compared to other toners out there, not to bad a price for the quantity of pages which do print.

i bought this printer and cartridge thiking it would save money because i could froward my faxes to email, and not have to print them all. but the mail forwarding does not work with smtp authentication: most outgoing mail servers require authentication to prevent spamming. this renders this printer useless, and further wastes and reduces the cartridge yield since most faxes are high-coverage.

A good printer; unfortunately there's a signifcantly hidden premium cost with such poor toner longevity.
