I purchased this Dell UltraSharp U2414H monitor based on my 3 years of using a similar Dell UltraSharp monitor. The Dell series of UltraSharp monitors offer really nice viewing with a matte finished screen producing excellent color response. My older UltraSharp is a 1920 x 1200 screen. The U2414H is a 1920 x 1080 screen. Upon receiving this U2414H, I was immediately disappointed with the reduced vertical space for editing photos and working with spreadsheets. I decided to return this Dell U2414H for two reasons: 1) There was a noticeable amount of backlight feed-through in the lower left and right corners. 2) And I really did miss the screen space of a 1920 x 1080 monitor. For the "on sale" price though, I will still say that this is an excellent monitor for both general and specialized computer use.

I made the decision to purchase two of these 23.8" monitor to replace my older dells at home and I am very happy with the set up. The dasiychain feature (DisplayPort 1.2(MST) connectivity) saved me money as I did not have to buy a new docking station (I would've had to if I went with other comparable brands as most I looked at did not support this). Cleared up a lot of space on my desk with a Vesa stand and I was able to toss my older docking station in the garage. I did use the stands which came with the monitors until my Vesa stand arrived and did not have any issues. Very good build quality. Now I switch between my work and personal laptop by just switching the mini display port cable. They look very sleek with the thin border. Everything works flawlessly.

Monitor looks great with the thin bezel and sharp picture quality. Had some issues using this with a Dell Docking Station and monitor not waking from Power Save Mode. Found that this is a common issue when I searched online. Was using a DVI to HDMI cable. Ended up switching cable and using HDMI to HDMI and it is working fine now.

Very impressed with this monitor. Best I've ever owned. Beautiful colors, clear and sharp text, soft touch controls, easy menu navigation, clean and elegant screen/stand design, lightweight, nice array of connectivity, excellent build quality. The only two cons for me is a very small amount of light bleed at a couple of the corners and the USB ports or not easily accessible since they're on the backside. Overall great monitor for the money.

Firstly, Adorama was great. Good price, fast shipping, and excellent customer service during the return process. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the monitor. Package arrived in good condition and everything was easy to set up. Nice design, good stand, and lots of ports. However, the monitor I received had really bad backlight bleed. It was quite bad in a dark room, but also noticeable in a normally lit environment. This was most likely just an issue with my particular monitor, but something to watch out for if you decide to purchase.

I was in need of some better monitors for my growing hobby of photography and video editing. After reading many reviews online, I decided this particular monitor would be a big step up without a big hit on the pocket book. Getting a 2-pack like this made it a no-brainer for me. Right out of the box, the quality was great. Each monitor has it's own QA spec sheet showing the testing done. I did a calibration using my SpyderPRO which toned down the brightness and slightly warmed the temperature (white balance). Showing the before/after after the calibration had been done, the test images showed a difference, but not nearly as drastic as other monitors I've seen calibrated. The detail and clarity is definitely there and a very nice improvement for my detailed photo editing efforts. The thin edges make side-by-side monitor setup much nicer. I have a GeForce GTX 1050 Ti video card and was able to "daisy chain" both monitors using the one "display" port thus freeing up the 3 HDMI ports for other monitors. The color and sharpness of this screen is so great! You'll not regret this purchase. The swivel stand is great! Easy to move around, and stays where it is after you adjust it. The screen came color-calibrated, so it's a plus for photo post-processing purpose. However, my Spyder3 will not work on this screen since it's got a wider color space than what Spyder3 supports. Just keep in mind that there's no DVI or D-Sub port. So if you have an older graphics card, then you wanna find a good quality adapter to use. The new "buttons" are harder to use, takes some time to get used to Also, no USB port on the side, a minor inconvenience. Overall still a great product.

After stepping down toe 13" MB Pro it became apparent I needed a larger monitor for photo editing. After agonizing for weeks, reading reviews, asking advice, I finally settled on the Dell U2414H 23.8". What sold me were the reviews on correctness (albeit, not on par with the absolute best), but for the price, an awesome value. I was drawn to the stand which allows for portrait viewing and landscape. It's swivel base and tilt mount makes it possible to adjust for one's viewing needs. Out of the box I found the monitor to be very close to my MB Pro retina w/o the glossy finish. I've been very pleased with prints. It came color corrected, but I don't have a color correction tool. The monitor came with all necessary wiring. It was a since to set up. Unbox, pull out he pieces, stand the base, unpack monitor, clip to base, attach wires - viola! The bezel is nearly invisible. Pivoting the monitor from landscape to portrait is pretty easy. It does require resetting the monitor preferences, which is a bit wonky if you spin first then try to adjust settings, but manageable. If there was anything I thought could be better it is that it doesn't have speakers. But, it's a monitor, not a stereo system. And for the price - again a great value. The other minor complaint is that to get the monitor perfectly level horizontally, it takes a little fiddling. This is due to it's swivel mount that allows rotation. You have to find just the right spot. Not a big deal really. All in all I found it an awesome value. Oh, and I should add. The box on my doorstep looked like it had been stepped on by the jolly green giant. Torn cardboard and lots of packing tape. I opened the box expecting to find monitor bits. What I found instead was a really well packaged monitor, safe from external package abuses and as pristine as the day it was packaged!
