I was excited to get a curved screen but did not expect it to be shorter than my old screen .... so a little disappointed ... but the curve is nice

Crisp color and high resolution allow me to read smaller print more comfortably. In addition the display is large enough that it alleviates the need and hassle of running two monitors.

I bought this monitor a few months back. It is awesome! I can have several game clients open at the same time with a screen this size. Plenty of workspace and no need of a second monitor. High visibility in games and many different resolutions to choose from. Would love to have one at home and in the office.

I read several reviews for several weeks before ultimately deciding that based on the rave reviews and seeing the Dell U3417W Curved Monitor in action it was a “no brainer”. I am not a gamer, but I spend an inordinate time on the computer for work and use the two that I purchased at my home office. The ability to split the screen with the Dell Display Manager software and set it to my needs was an incredible bonus. I can view between the monitors…file folders, specifications and drawings in CAD and PDF, Word Docs, Excel Files, Email and any other combination of files and folders needed to be efficient with no separation between the windows. My only regret is that I didn’t have enough space for the Dell U3818DW - 38” Curved Monitors. I replaced two LG 29" IPS monitors with the U3417W’s and the difference is markable. The resolution, contrast and durability of these monitors are far better than my previous assembly (sorry LG). I’m running an Alienware Aurora R7 with and Intel® Core™ i7-8700 CPU @ 3.20GHz, 32.0GB RAM and driven by Nvidia GeForce 1070Ti with 2432 CUDA Cores, 8192MB GDDR5 Video Memory and 256-bit Memory interface. I would have given Customer Service 5-Stars but I am still waiting on the Promotional eGift Cards that were promised as part of the purchase of each monitor. In the past with the purchases of an XPS15 Laptop and the Alienware Aurora R7 and other Dell Accessories, Customer Service has been amazing. I will update this review once the Service Request for the eGift Cards have been fulfilled. But, please don’t let this influence your decision to purchase the monitor. It is well worth the investment.

I purchased this about 2 months ago to replace two 24" monitors and am mostly happy with it. I'm saving on real estate on my desk and can still run it like three monitors (laptop and two displays). But many Microsoft applications (Excel and Outlook primarily) do not display correctly. My spreadsheets and email are quite pixellated. It's not 100% of the time and I've tried adjusting the resolution but have the issue with multiple laptops.

Simply typing on my keyboard makes this display wobble. It is a beautiful display, but is not sturdy enough to actually be used. Wobbles, and bounces everytime I type on my keyboard.

Pretty nice product but the description Work efficiently: Display and edit content from two PCs on your screen at once, using a single keyboard and mouse".

Great monitor! Love the curve. And the built in KVM switch is such a nice feature. Especially great as you can map two hard buttons to input selection. Only issue is if the machine you are switching to is sleeping the monitor doesn't wait long enough for it to start up. This means swapping inputs may mean: click to swap inputs, click the keyboard to wake up the machine, click the swap input input button again after the machine wakes up. Only other negative I see is max refresh of 60hz. Some complain about contrast but the image is pretty great as long as you have some light on in your room. I debated between this monitor and the 38" ultrawide. I am glad I saved the 300-400$ and got the 34". I also really like the dpi of 109. very sharp text but not so small that you need to use scaling.

So I've had mine for almost a month now and I'm blown away with it. The sharpness, colors, and detail are amazing. One of the killer features is the built in KVM switching. I connect my work notebook and personal computer and with a little utility on each PC, I can do a hot key sequence and seamlessly move between both computers and use the same mouse/keyboard. The monitor stand can take some room, so I got an Amazon monitor arm that attaches to the edge of my desk and it supports the monitor just fine. It frees up enough room that the notebook and docking station fit perfectly under the monitor. There is some light leakage in the corners on an all black screen, but with office app usage that is not a problem. The other nice feature is the audio support. The built in speakers are adequate for system sounds, but for the audio that comes on in the DP and HDMI cables, it has an analog out for my 2.1 speakers- it works perfectly.

This monitor has enabled me to get rid of my second monitor. There is enough "real estate" to view all the frames of my IDE on one screen. With Windows 10, the easy control of window placement means I can conveniently view several windows and the curved screen is much easier on my eyes than refocusing as I go from one screen to another in my previous dual monitor configuration. My company got me one for work but I liked it so much I bought myself another one for home.

I've only had the monitor one day, huge upgrade from my dual 23's. But I was hoping to lose the usb-c hub, but I still need it for the single connection from my XPS, why no usb-c on this monitor?

Bought this for glorious 21:9 gaming and general desktop use. It has a fast mode in menu which cuts refresh down to 5ms. Fully calibrated out of the box from the factory, for the most part, just leave color settings alone. 109 ppi, on par with the Acer Predator X34. Decent built in speakers for general use, which actually sound pretty good for when you take off your headphones and visit YouTube. On screen menu is very intuitive with loads of options organized nicely. The 1900R curve is great and immerses you. Movies look great on her too, no black bars on 21:9 content, which ~90% of films are shot at. The stand is very solid, no wiggle, feels like its bolted to my desk. It has a tad back-light bleed but this is a compromise for any IPS panel offering wider viewing angles...you really can't have both, at least at this price point. Thankfully the 3417's is minimal. Side note: To truly enjoy this with games at 3440 X 1440p (60Hz) on high/ultra settings, you will probably want to consider a beefy GPU. I would advise the GTX 1070 as a minimum. Witcher 3 and Skyrim look absolutely amazing on the 3417. Words cannot describe, it pulls you into the world just a little more. Leave the monitor's response time set to "normal", as the "fast" setting seems to cause ghosting in scenes with lots of contrast. Overall, a very solid 21:9 monitor. I was on the fence, just like you probably are, but no regrets on a purchase that stayed in my wishlist for over 8 months. Once you've went 21:9, there is no going back.

I received this monitor following the DELL Technical Support recommendation for CAD Design work station. Dell said this monitor was build special for CAD work stations and was strongly recommended by them to me. The monitor's resolution is great ( should be for 4K monitor and for the money , but I advise/warning designers to stay away from the curved screen monitor and to buy standard flat screen monitor. The straight lines or edges look curved on this monitor. The bad thing is I had no chance to try it before I purchased it (not available/display in any stores) So again, advise for designers, engineers, graphic designers: DO NOT purchase the curved screen monitors for CAD work, the flat screen may be better if you are into CAD or some photo/drawing applications I do not know how experts on computers/monitors sites gave very good reviews of those curved monitors for CAD application and place them on top rank places??? I gave two stars only because of great resolution/colors, size and monitor appearance. For CAD work I will give 1 star. ***All monitors manufacturer should not build /recommend curved monitors for design/CAD work.***
