I bought a Dell XPS 13 (9370) in Nov, 2018. It has a lot of positives, but its major negative is so bad I strongly do NOT recommend this notebook. For at least five months, I have repeated instances of the volume not working, i.e. in YouTube videos, Spotify and video links on news websites such as CNN and NY Times. I get a message stating that there is an Audio Renderer Error and telling me to reboot. When I reboot, the problem is resolved. However, it recurs again and again, often within just 30 minutes. I have tried various solution. I checked devices and connection, making sure I hadn’t muted the sound, etc. Then I update the driver, and I run the audio troubleshooter. I checked for updates. Of course, I have all updates downloaded after going through this process so many times. I have also uninstalled the audio driver and reinstalled it again. I’ve reinstalled the BIOS as well. I am SO tired of rebooting my laptop just to listen to a video! I am aware, from the online community, that many others have this problem. How can Dell not resolve this problem? I really wish I had chosen another laptop and am surprised the Dell XPS gets such great reviews.

I've only had it for a little over a week. It has great reviews and is a nice machine. The feature that piqued my interest in an XPS is the Infinity screen and it wastes no space. The 4K screen looks great. I was disappointed when I realized one of the 3 ports was also the power port making a hub even more of a necessity when plugged in and connected to a monitor. Hubs that send a 4K signal @60hz as opposed to 30hz usually run over a couple hundred for a name brand and must be used with a Thunderbolt port. A Type C to HDMI cable is a much less expensive option if you can spare the port. I understand the newest model has a better camera placement (I disable it) and a small increase in processor and RAM speed (seems unnecessary). Its 2018's model and if you get a deal that saves you much off the 2019's take it.

It's a good laptop. Sometimes the camera turns on for no apparent reason and I can't seem to find a reason why.

Using a simple thing as wifi direct is a pain on this laptop that claims to be the ultimate ultrabook! Connections with my phone using Your Phone app of windows are inconsistent. It is a great laptop but at this price you expect more..

The performance is really good, but the only drawback is the position of the camera.

The wifi on this computer regularly cuts out due to the cheap killer wireless card. Support refuses to help. This laptop is worthless.

Poor battery. The white keyboard with a white light below it makes it impossible to work in dark. Also, the laptop hangs and is slow which is strange considering the specs on the machine

Brand new laptop - unusable at times due to extreme cursor lag and random freezing up. Difficulty with support. Probably a nice laptop otherwise.

Very pleased with the ease of setup, the quality of the computer and how slick and compact it looks. I researched a lot of different computers and found this one to be the best and most worthwhile investment. Really happy with it so far.

Bought XPS13 (9360) in March. I cannot find the license for MS Office until they send me the license 2wks later. In mid May while adjusting the screen angle, the top plastic body cracked and separated from the aluminum bottom of the case at the corner where the power button is located. It is not covered under the 1yr warranty because it is not internal to the machine. When received the laptop back, I cannot boot it until working with Dell tech to fix the setting in the BIOS. Why replacing the palm rest would affect BIOS setting? Lost 1 more week of working. 5 months after purchase, the power supply stopped working. Again, it is not internal to the laptop. I need a more reliable product. Note, my 7yr old laptop with a new SSD hard drive boots up faster than this XPS13.

I really wanted to love this computer, it's supposed to be the best there is right now. But despite that I still have constant minor issues. Things not downloading or not opening, and I've even had to restart the computer due to applications freezing and it's a new computer I've only had a for a week.

I purchased this laptop only a year ago, and I faced a battery issue that wouldn't allow my laptop to operate (or even stay powered on) unless my charger was equipped. This started when I noticed the battery power indicator began to flash orange consistently. I called technical support only to be informed about the fees I would incur if I were send this in for a diagnostic run. Which interestingly, the 'technical support' surrounded the conversation about the warranty and not about what they could do for me. This is my third dell product, and it is astonishing that this could happen with minimal usage and only after a year! It does not look like I will be purchasing another dell product and I hope the general population will be wary when considering this one. There are of course wonderful features about this laptop but this is ridiculous.

Within the first month of buying this laptop, I brought it with me on vacation. It successfully connected to the new Wi-Fi when I first arrived to my destination. However, on the third day the computer disconnected from the Wi-Fi, and I can no longer see any Wi-Fi networks to join. Many choices appear when I try to connect with my phone, but my new computer says no connections are available. I have updated my software and ran every troubleshooting software that I can find about network connections. I have no idea what to do now.

I have had this for six months. Love the touchscreen, size, and weight. And that's it. Otherwise this thing sucks. It runs very loudly; it is always very hot (I can touch the bottom, but not for long before it is too hot to hold; it drops my from wifi access scores of times a day (regardless if I am at home, work, coffee shop, etc.). Imagine using a machine for 6-10 hours a day and needing to disconnect and reconnect to the internet 20+ times a day. Infuriating!!!!

The laptop has a beautiful screen and feels snappy thanks to its strong processor. Unfortunately it suffers from disastrous build quality. To be clear, I treated this laptop with great care. It was never tossed or thrown, and it has not ever fallen to the ground. When not using it, it goes inside a case. Despite my light usage, the bottom panel of the laptop began to detach when flipping up the screen slightly less than a year into owning this. I can put up with errant build quality, but I am giving this one star because Dell customer support says this is not covered by the warranty, as they consider this normal wear and tear. This treatment is not acceptable. I have never had a laptop begin to literally fall apart in less than year of responsible ownership; this is abnormal. Shame on Dell for making me pay for this repair. The XPS 13 was supposed to replace a seven-year old Macbook Pro. Regrettably, my experience with the Dell XPS 13 will not even last one year.

I just bought this and haven't download anything, but when I open the folder of this laptop, it stopped and showed "no responding" sometimes. And it's not smoothly overall. Even if I changed the brightness level to 0, and turned the night mode on, the screen is still too bright.

I waited a couple of months before writing this review. I wanted to make sure I tested all of the components so I could give a full description. Well, my experience has been probably the worst so far with my new XPS 13. I was really excited to get this computer to go back to school. I did plenty of research and heard great things about this computer. However, my experience has not been great at all. I've had multiple issues with my computer. I just created a new trouble ticket today because the speaker on my laptop has not been working properly. I could go on with all the details that I have had with this laptop, but my point here is: for the amount of money that I invested in this laptop, I should not have to deal with these isssues. Especially not since my laptop is not even one year old! Save your money buying the "premium support" from Dell, that is probably the worst customer care experience I've had. I really wished I could get a refund and just a get a newer version or another model.

Great system. I am MacPro book user moved to Dell Windows. This tiny has got enough power but the only thing that I am missing is the perfectly smooth mousepad in MacPro. Mouse pad in XPS 13 is not bad but not as good as MacProbook.

The machine is absolutely awesome. It has opened a new world of computing for me as I was coming from an old, bulky laptop. However, during setup, I was using my home's wireless network and I ran the Dell BIOS update and I lost wireless connectivity. I couldn't turn it back on, and it looked like the computer couldn't even recognize the wireless card. In desperation I hard-lined the machine up to my home internet and rebooted...and that shook things loose and I've been running flawlessly on the wireless every since (a few weeks. I would highly recommend this machine to anyone, and it was highly recommended to me.

Best Ultrabook in 2018
By kuesa
This product has been absolutely fantastic, and in my opinion is the best ultrabook you can buy with 8th gen Intel processors at the moment. Build: Wow, this one's a looker. That Infinity Edge display got a lot of attention from people I knew. One was even scared that the cursor would escape the screen since the bezels were so tiny. Not only is it a looker, but this laptop has ZERO flex and almost NO screen wobble. The keyboard feels *amazing* and the trackpad is okay. If you plan on doing a...

Dell XPS 13 9370 i7 8550U, 16GB RAM, 512 GB SSD, 4K infinity edge display. So far the XPS 13 is working fantastic. The only downside is the webcam placement, which i already knew about. Other than that XPS 13 is amazing laptop. For what i am paying for the specs, it is definitely worth it. I am hoping that this laptop will last me for atleast 3 to 4 years before i get my next big upgrade. Pros: Very light, ultra-portable, and top level finish to the design. Specs are top notch, core i7 85...

Scorching looks that keep their cool
White hot
Our design team worked tirelessly to get the details just right-carefully crafted backlighting, UV- and stain-resistant coating to prevent yellowing over time and staining and coordinated packaging and accessories.
Stunning strength
The XPS 13 is cut from a single block of aluminum, so it's more durable than a machine that's pieced together. Inspired by the aerospace industry, the carbon fiber and woven glass fiber of the palm rest allow for maximum strength and minimal weight. Corning Gorilla Glass 4 is twice as damage resistant compared to competitive products.
Small details, big impact
Aesthetically, less is more. So we've inlayed a stainless XPS logo, laser-etched the regulatory details and color-matched the feet for a sleeker look. The brightened platinum silver finish truly shines.
Cooler than ever
The XPS 13 is the first laptop built with GORE Thermal Insulation, which provides thermal conductivity levels lower than air in a thin, flexible format, to keep your laptop cool while it works hard. While the Gore insulation directs heat out of the device, dual fans and heat pipes further lower the temperature of your XPS, enabling greater performance in a thinner form factor.
