Although I didn't use this nearly as much as I set out to, I found that it was useful when I did and provided a perspective that is unique. It was initially a bit difficult to set up, but I attributed that to my complete lack of knowledge regarding drones or aerial photography/videography. I'd recommend it.

This is the first time I have ever had a drone of any kind really. I have bought my kids some of the less expensive ones but they really never flew right. I'm very pleased with the control and how easy it is to fly as a beginner. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to get one. I am still learning all of the options but it is still a lot of fun that the video and pictures you get are awesome.

I purchased this drone to do aerial photography for real estate. I have not been able to complete one job. First there were firmware issues and it's complatability with IOS 10, then the camera stopped working. I was told to downgrade the firmware (I did) and it worked for a day then went back to no picture. This time I was told to reformat the SD card in the aircraft...I did this while on the phone with customer service, called them again when the formatting was finished and checked to see if it was successful (it was). Had a picture but the camera now jerked back and forth. Called CS again, upgraded firmware AGAIN and now have a bright pink or bright green screen and the camera STILL jerks back and forth. Am now looking for another drone.

Don't settle for less. The pro camera takes excellent puctures. Video quality is great. Although the advance and pro are the same, the difference is in the quality of the camera.

This is my first drone, but I wanted a decent one, that's why I bought this and not something cheaper. Biggest drawback for me (and I think anyone over age 40 may agree) - the only way to figure stuff out is to sit through multiple videos, which don't always help. Back in my day, you had very explicit WRITTEN instructions on what to do, which DJI is very lacking in this regard. Then, when something goes wrong, there is no way to troubleshoot anything - other than 'watch the videos' (and hope they cover your problem), which they didn't cover mine at all. I don't even have the ability to download my first flight video because I crashed and some important parts were broken. Which leads me to my next issue - the camera/gimbal holder is PLASTIC (mine broke on impact) - you would think they would have a better piece holding your $360 camera to the drone body! Anyway, this seems like it could be REALLY cool, but I can't say I have any proof yet, so I think 4 stars is the best I can do at this time.

You really don't have to have much practice to get this thing to fly the way you need it to. It's responsive and reliable, good batter life, and just makes it look effortless. If you want this as a means of having fun (without spending a lot of time tinkering with it or building one yourself) or you're looking for a tool for work that gets it done without thinking about it, this is the one for you.

We have flown many drones but this one is a true workhorse. Simple to set up and get into the air ...rock solid stability...picture quality is fantastic. We use a Ipad air 2 on the transceiver and can see every detail while flying. I dont think you could ask for a better drone! Don't forget to register your new drone with the FAA.

This is my first drone that I bought. Packaging was very well with everything secure. The DJI pilot app is very fun and easy to use. The drone flies perfectly and the controls are very easy to get used to. I had two minor issues that not everyone might not experience: 1) The camera lens was cracked upon delivery. 2) The firmsware update process took about one hour for me. Like I said it's not typical, so don't let it take away from how great this drone is. Adorama's customer service took care of my return with ease. Either way you will have fun at any level, and it's a great investment for years to come.

I am amazed by the video quality from this beast. The 4K is incredible even in low light. The stabilization is AMAZING even in high winds. I was torn between this and a 3DR Solo, but in the end I found the minimal distortion from the P3P's Rectilinear lens to be much more attractive on a professional level. I have a GoPro Hero 4 Black that I also use but I didn't want the fisheye perspective from the sky. I am very glad I went with this opposed to the 3DR Solo. I have never flown a drone before but I am an RC hobbyist so it wasn't foreign to me on how to fly this. I was blown away by how easy it was to fly this thing. Be sure to calibrate the compass before each flight. It is slightly challenging to get smooth pans/tilts while flying and controlling the camera it takes a lot of focus, but I am sure I will have it down in time. Be sure to calibrate the gyro also to get a nice level shot. If you want to shoot for a long period of time pick up a few extra batteries. Each battery lasts 20mins and takes about 40 mins to charge. I picked up a spare when I bought this but I think I will probably end up picking up two more. I would recommend this to any photographer/cinematographer who needs a new perspective on the world.

This is my first drone and I decided to go to the Professional version because of the upgraded camera. While I'm still learning how to use it and am very sure that it will get damaged at some point, I'm very pleased with the execution of this product. It's easy for beginners and for experienced folks. I'm still keeping the drone in sight while flying, but have confidence it will return home when needed. Now whether or not it lands safely is another question!

It lives up to all the reviews in regards to quality, craftsmanship and steadiness. Keep in mind that a machine this well made does have a short flight time given limitations of battery life but it flies beautifully. Definitely update the remote control, the copter, and the batteries before your first flight and don't skip the tutorial. I skipped all those because of my excitement and the maiden voyage was a crash, but once updated it flew perfectly. The copter is also well built and sturdy and withstood the maiden crash with only minor scuffs. Excellent product!

I have never owned a drone before and am not a R/C enthusiast. I've watched YouTube videos and tutorials, collecting as much information as I could before making a decision. Lost of "experts" say that you should buy a cheap drone for practice... then I heard another opinion that these fly so easily that it's actually better to start off with a good one as they are much more precise. So, I jumped in and bought this DJI Phantom 3 Pro from Adorama (where I get all of my photo/video gear)... along with the extra battery (you will want the extra battery)... good decision. I live in rural PA, so I don't have the restrictions that many are facing with their flying cameras. Although I did learn quite fast, that I can NOT use this drone as part of my photography business as that constitutes "commercial use".... so, it is an expensive toy that I am improving my aerial video skills with until regs are firm and I am "certified" to fly one for profit. Right out of the box, it's pretty fool proof. Charge your controller, charge the batteries (not at the same time)... while reading the quick start information and most important... installing the operator software. DJI go app was installed on my iPad mini-2 which is one of the approved devices you will NEED to fly your drone. Right away, there was an update required for the controller and the drone/quad. I did the controller ap update right through wi-fi and the drone itself had to be updated using the micro card. 30 minutes later, all was updated and good to go... Took the Phantom out in the driveway, did the required calibration procedure... had live feed from the camera to the ap... and I did the automatic takeoff... IMPRESSIVE... The craft zipped up to around 4' and waited for my controls to send it off and let the learning begin. The video feed is FANTASTIC... unreal to see the bird's eye view on a screen right in your hands. I operated in the open mode, not beginner mode... remember, I'm in the country so don't have city, houses and people to worry about. It flew perfectly and was stunningly accurate. The 4k video set on "vivid" from the camera menu is perfect right out of the camera. You can extract stills from the video later on, or take stills with your right hand pointer finger... video button/record is on the left side... With no experience, I found the controls intuitive and easy to get a feel for. Battery is good for about 20 minutes before your alarms start beeping and you have to go home... and get that backup battery I told you about. I took it slow... flying sideways, forward, up, down, backwards which provides a fantastic cinematic pull-back shot... Now, I "was" thinking of the inspire system because of the 360 deg gimbal and camera... but now that I have the P3 pro... it makes perfect sense for someone who wants to work alone to have this unit... the camera faces forward and all of the controls are in one place, with one controller. It's simple, it's precise and compact. The Inspire takes up a lot of storage real-estate and may require two pilots... one for the craft and one for the camera... THIS system is perfect for me and what I want to do. The precision of the controls and the hovering stability, have allowed me to walk it through the woods, around trees, over the pond and in video, appears like I have the largest slider ever made. I'm very VERY pleased and would definitely endorse this to anyone, regardless of your skill level. It's a lot of money.. but I kept thinking... I'm buying this system cheaper than the cost of one pro lens! It advances my video potential beyond all expectation. I'm a fan... perfect size, so so still photographer, GREAT video... with manual exposure controls, or automatic settings as you prefer.

I've had the Phantom 3 Pro for a few weeks now and I have to say it's everything as advertised. It's easy to fly and takes GREAT video. The big trick is to start low and slow and warm up to it. It has great capabilities so take your time to learn them all. I've been flying on the coast and have gotten great videos. It's amazing!.

As a camera platform this drone in incredible. The first days of flying where in pretty heavy winds and the video was rock solid. The 4k video is stunning. It is easy to fly. However, I had purchased an inexpensive mini-drone to get used to the controller and aircraft. This transitioned to the Phantom 3 Professional perfectly. I cannot speak to the maximum range of the Phantom 3, as I'm still a little nervous about letting it out of my sight. The flight time has been solid. I have gotten at least 15-17 minutes of flight time without the indicated battery level dropping below 30%. My only complaint is that DJI didn't include a micro-SDHC card reader in the kit. This drone is great fun fly and the video you will get from the Phantom 3 Professional will knock you socks off!

This is an excellent piece of gear, i'd give everything about it full ratings especially at price point, the only thing I would like to see dji improve on is battery life although if you have two batteries like I do, it feels like a very long time being in the air.
