I have been using a plastic tank and reel since I started developing my own film. I decided to buy this steel tank along with a stainless steel developing reel and I'm very glad I did. This tank is easier to use than the plastic tank with the center post. It is easier and faster to bring the chemicals to the desired temperature. It seals tightly and does not leak when sealed. You can't beat the price. Highly recommended!

I can't speak for anyone else, but if you only tend to shoot a single roll a week, or a month, then something like this is an ideal solution: by the way, since it isn't listed in the specs so far as I can tell, this tank has a volume of 300 milliliters. Top cap pops off easily thanks to a tab attached; the lid itself secures firmly in place. I didn't notice any leaking, though some have reported as such. A great light-tight box to process film in.
