Discover the DryLam Difference!
Not all laminating films are created equal and this is especially true with DryLam's Trade-Lam copolymer laminating films. All laminating films are made with two distinct layers, a base film (Typically Polyester) and an adhesive layer. It's the combination of these two layers that makes up the total thickness of the film structure.
Of the two components, the base film layer is usually the most expensive. So it may not be surprising to learn that most manufacturers of laminating film make the adhesive layer thicker to bulk up a film structure to its target thickness. They use a thin base film layer to save costs.
But the base film layer is where all of the rigidity and clarity of the film structure comes from. The thicker the base film, the stiffer the structure becomes, and clarity of the overall film is greatly improved. Adhesive layers just don't offer the same clarity as base layers.
DryLam Trade-Lam films in gloss finish all feature High Content Polyester base structures to attain rigidity and high clarity. In fact, Trade-Lam films use 2 to 3 times thicker base films than the competitors' films.
