Material rugged but not thick. Over-the-shoulder strap has nice grippies on the back. Carry handle strap effective yet stays out of the way. The carry handle can be moved to the backside to act as strap to fit over roller suitcase handle. Main compartment can hold camera with lens attached and two other large lenses. Front and side pockets large enough to hold other gear. I wish the pockets had pouches for pens, but you can simply use the skinnier back pocket to hold pens and notebook (but does not have a pocket cover).

Domke makes the best bags and this one lives up to the company's reputation for quality! It's perfect for my pro DSLR, a few lenses and a flash along with enough space for extra batteries and other essentials I need in the field.

My decades-old Domke has been my go-to bag for years, but I wanted a smaller version that would fit in my motorcycle top box. This one claims to hold a pro dslr with a zoom attached, but that depends on how you define "pro." The padded square does not accommodate a gripped D500. Nor do the other padded sections accommodate lenses of modern girth. I removed the Domke inserts and used some leftover pads from other bags to make the bag work. It's sub-optimal, but so is every other bag and backpack I own. And I own quite a few. Even so, the Domke bags really work for my run-and-gun assignments, and I expect to use this one for decades to come.

I've had Domke products before and find them tough and very useful. This bag holds my D700w/grip, 20 35 2.8, 85 1.4, 70 200. I'm very satisfied.

I used this bag for two years in Egypt and Ethiopia. The primary attributes were that it's tough, low-profile, and the 'sand' color helped make it appear less threatening for a variety of reasons. I did cut the center clasp off to be able to pop the top open faster to change lens. For field work and photo-journalism it proved excellent, camera body, two zooms, a couple of batteries, you're set!

I like this bag because it provides excellent dry weather protection without looking like a camera bag - I don't think it will provide much protection from rain for very long. It is very inconspicuous. The canvas is very thick as is the padded removable inserts. This bag is like a pair of jeans in that it will probably look better the more it is "worn". I'm able to pack a Nikon D300, 17-55mm F/2.8, 55-200 VR F4-5.6, 50mm F1.4, MB-D10 Battery Pack and extra battery tray, SB-600 flash, plus all the little things. This thing really holds the gear and is easy to work from. I plan on buying more Domke stuff - eventually.

You will need the strap cushions they sell. This bag does get heavy with a med. format camera and assessories.

This bag holds an amazing amount of gear. Right now a Canon 5D with a 24-105 F4 zoom attached, a 70-200 F4 zoom, three 580 flashes, battery grip, camera-flip for tripod, all cables, CF cards, manuals, flashlights, notecards & pens, other odds and ends. And it's smaller than my vintage Domke bags that I have used for the last 25 years. This is a complete setup (except for tripod) for the theater and dance photography I do. Since I mainly work indoors I do not need weather protection, but I do need quick access in the dark. My only complaint is that the clip ring for the cover strap is at the very bottom of the bag and quite awkward to work.

This is the second Domke bag I have owned--among a half dozen other brands. My first Domke, a larger bag, I have given to my son: these bags only get better with age. No other bag comes close to the utility and smart design of Domke. Last year I made a mistake and bought a Billingham (very expensive)camera bag and was disappointed from the start compared to the Domke I had given away! So I bought another Domke and won't use anything else.
