This is probably my tenth domke bag of varying sizes over 30 years. That pretty much says it all.

Always an excellent product, Domke bags are easy to use, have a simple design, and are quite functional. They hold up well for years of reliable use! I have one in my collection that’s pushing 30 years and still going strong! I purchased the F-6 for a D750/24-120 kit w/a couple of SB-800 flashes. Great fit with a little room to spare, nice size for a medium format camera and lens combo if you switch out the insert.

This has been my main camera bag for about eight years now. I've owned many bags over the years but none have been as inconspicuous, as comfortable or as plainly useful as this one. I use a Domke F-5XB when I want to travel super light and carry just one 35mm body and one or two lenses. When I want to carry a bit more than that, this is what I reach for. It can easily accommodate two RF or SLR 35mm bodies on either side and up to four lenses in the slots. I've also used it to haul a Hasselblad or Bronica MF system with room to spare. I have an F-2 bag as well and when I need to haul even more like one of my Nikon F systems, one or both of my MF systems or some combination of those, it's perfect. Since my needs are routinely less intensive, the F-6 gets daily use. The thing that does it for me with Domke is the way that the fabric relaxes and conforms to you and your gear over time. After a while it becomes a part of you and you hardly notice it's there. The Gripper strap is genius. The smooth and grippy sides each have their uses. When I'm walking I would always have to keep re-positioning the bag but with the grip strap it stays put. It's the little things! As another reviewer pointed out, the top flap clasps can contact your sensitive gear if you're not careful. However, this is the only nag I have about this bag and it's a fairly small one since you quickly get used to manipulating the top fla. It doesn't offer much protection on the sides but I don't mind that since I want it to be as light as possible. All the protection is on the bottom where it should be. The front pocket is actually pretty large and holds a ton of stuff. I have mine loaded with grey cards, filters, film, meters, cable releases, batteries, etc. and there always seems to be room for something else. I love that. I think Domke pricing is a little high across the board ($ for the tiny F-5XB for example) but in this case, you get what you pay for and what you get is very high U.S. build quality, strong stitching, thoughtful design, comfort and an understated style. All in all a real winner and my favorite bag of all time!

I use this product to with a Nikon DSLR and a couple lenses. This bag is just the right size to store several lenses and a flash. It doesn't look like a camera bag, and the clips are a deterrent to anyone who would try to open your bag while it's on your person. I would recommend buying another 4 compartment divider like the one that comes in the bag and taking the dividers out and using that to pad and store your camera with it's every day lens on it. I do this with my D5000 and 18-105mm lens. Coupled with a Domke post office style shoulder pad, you can carry this bag for a long day and not feel weighted down.

I picked up this bag to use not only on a daily basis, but also for a trip to Egypt, Jordan and Turkey. I took 1 body (Canon 7D), three lenses (17-40, 135 & 50 1.4), a notepad, my camera rain cover and some other odds and ends which all fit in there nicely with room to spare. As as result of the extra room, it meant I could add items when taking flights since it was my carry on. Along with the camera gear, I also carried my iPod and a set of sony foldable headphones and various small liquids. I also found that on a day to day basis, I could also drape my jacket across the bag and close the lid on it with no fear of it falling out (though it reduces access to your gear). The only things I could wish for from this bag, is that the bottom padding came out so that I could toss it in the washing machine and get out some of the various sauces/foods that fell on it on the trip. Otherwise, this is a pretty sweet bag.

This is a great little bag for carrying one DSLR camera with up to five prime lenses or one or two small rangefinder cameras with up to six prime lenses. It doesn't scream 'camera bag' the way some do, it's very comfortable to carry around and the lens compartment can be moved within the bag. Annoyingly the metal clips on the lid can flop down hard on lenses if you're not careful. Otherwise this is a great product.

i used the bag to carry my photo equipments a body, 2 lenses, and several items. they fit the bag nicely. i wish this f6 version has the velcro like the f2 version. but other than that it's a great bag. if you're looking for an inconspicuous camera bag, this bag is great.

PROS: When packing "full", on the rectangular side compartments I have: Canon 20D + BG-E2 EOS 3 + PB-E2 For the middle four padded compartments: Canon 85 1.8 Canon 55-250 Sigma 15-30 (82mm) Sigma 50 1.4 (77mm) sigmalux! Front zippered pocket I have 430EXII flash. Inside zippered pocket on the cover is where I keep the film and mem cards. CONS: The only thing I would want is one or two side pockets to hold the flash and cards, but I guess that would change the size way too much.... Do realize that the sides and bottom of the bag is unpadded, which is basically both the camera body compartments. Best thing to do is cut out your own padding for the bottom, but the sides are still vulnerable so don't go thinking you can swing this around. Looking down at the bag I can't believe I fit both a full digital and film system with full focal range coverage, plus flash and film all in this "smaller" bag. When I saw the bag in person I thought oh how cute and small, now with it loaded I know the F6 will be my trusty friend for a long time :)

The Domke F-6 is a great light-weight (certainly one of the lightest on the market), roomy, strong canvas bag with excellent padding/protection. Too bad it has only two pockets, a zippered one in the top flap-cover (approx. 13x5") and the zippered one in front (approx.10x5") that runs the length of the bag. There's also a slip pocket in the back running the length of the back. It has plenty of room inside which you can customize the space with terrific accessory inserts of different configurations. My first complaint is that those pesky spring clips Domke uses to keep the bag closed are a pain to open and close. And there's no strip of velcro to keep the main compartment closed without using the clips. The only good thing about them is that the clips will NEVER open accidentally. My other complaint is that Domke's shoulder strap is unpadded, unremovable (and unbreakable), bad and good depending on your point-of-view, and whether you have a better shoulder strap you would rather employ. Otherwise a great bag at a reasonable price.

This is a great, light bag that holds your essential equipment. It fits my purposes well as I wanted a camera bag that is very portable and inconspicuous to carry around a single camera body, two lenses (one on camera), and a flash unit. I love that the F-6 is made of canvas so it molds to your body and your photo gear. However, due to the fact that the F-6 "hugs" your photo equipment, it's not always easy to quickly remove/replace your camera in the bag. It's better to keep your camera in hand. This bag has limited padding which I like because it keeps the unnecessary bulk to a minimum. However, this means that the F-6 is not made for storing or protecting your equipment but rather for field use. The major drawback of the F-6 - for me anyway - is the fact that it comes with a four compartment padded insert that seems a bit big for the bag. It would be nice if the F-6 came with Domke's two compartment insert or at least offered you the choice. Additional/replacement Domke inserts are expensive. In conclusion, for my uses which are moving around quickly, unimpeded by extra gear and padding, I would buy this product again.

Great all around bag. Very well made and plenty of pockets. It was a little smaller than I had envisioned but it fits all of my gear so far.

I've been using a backpack bag for a couple of years, but had run out of space, even with the largest bag, I was looking for something different. I decided to try this bag, for the simple reason, it does not look like a camera bag. I keep 2 camera bodies, and 5 lenses in this bag, with room for filters and other small items.

I decided to switch from a Tamrac to he Domke for a lower key and better hugging bag. I have an older Domke laying around I use on occasion and know that these bags look better the older they get. When I found this bag I knew it had it all. The pockets are well padded and the velcro system works well for the future when I need to adjust. The top pocket and front pocket are great for everything I need to hold and I love the open back pocket for any books or maps that I might need. The strap holds wonderfully well with it's grippy threads, and the flap stays put whether it's buckled or not. I can easily take this bag from film to digital without missing a beat. Daily, I carry the following in my bag: Nikon D70 with 18-70 3.5-4.5 Nikkor Nikkor 70-300 G SB 600 SC-17 Gary Fong Lightsphere Lensbaby G-1 charger extra batteries cleaning tools and it all sits perfectly. I really couldn't be happier and with the khaki color I find it professional yet understated. If I had to pick on something it would be their decision to permanently affix the strap to the bag. My F5XB allows me to easily replace the strap by unhooking, and I find that a useful feature as I now need to replace the strap on that bag. I would also criticize their move to polycarbonate hardware located sparsely on the bag. A pittance to complain about given the advantages. This bag is great for a smaller pro bag, a nature weekender, or a street bag (I know, I've used it for all that). I wouldn't hesitate to buy this bag again.

Just a little bigger would have been great. Since most of my photography is out door I should have gone with a backpack to carry a ground cloth, shell and strap on a tripod
